► Tell us about you and your podcast
I am a digital internet celebrity, who uses my social platforms for content creation. I also am the host, writer, editor, and producer of my own podcast. Additionally I model, act, beauty blogger, environmentalist, anti-bullying, and online cyberbullying advocate. The podcast is free-flowing and very relaxed. We delve into the issues that are important to the artist that is currently my guest. My listeners are from all age groups, as well as countries.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I created the podcast for viewers who don't want to visually see something and would rather have an audio experience. This also helps with accessibility. I started the podcast this Autumn, 2020, due to the high demand, for my viewers, to have ease of use. There is a lot of editing as well as warm-ups that go behind creating a podcast, so it takes about 2 days to complete.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We release an episode when the time feels right, we try to keep it on a two-week basis but not oversaturated, so people have time to enjoy the episodes. About two days to produce an episode when it is in the editing room.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
What I gain from podcasting is a broader audience to reach. Not only does it all me to reach viewers who need accessibility, but it gives my shows a different perspective. To help with playbacks I embedded my podcast to my website, this way partners I work with can see my illustrated work.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
I have had the honor of growing in the entertainment industry, and meeting really impactful figures. I can conduct my interviews over Zoom, and then transport the audio files into a podcast. To prepare each episode, I accommodate my guests, by allowing them free reign to discuss their accomplishments and upcoming projects.
► How do you market your show?
I have Lillee Jean TALKS! Live embedded on my website and each new episode is shared through iTunes and Spotify. I also share my show on all social media platforms including, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Creating a show takes a lot of integrity and time management. One thing that is important about creating a show, you have to care about it. There is no manual for creating a podcast, it should be about subjects or people you care deeply about. If you speak out on these topics, you will never have an issue creating episodes, since there will always be a constant flow of content.
