►Tell us about you and your podcast
My name is Ashley Berges. Live Your True Life Perspectives is the podcast that is your best friend. LYTL is inspirational, informative, and honest. The show focuses on authentic self help and how we can successfully live in this world and find our best life. This show is dedicated to helping people find happiness and joy in this life while overcoming adversity. It is up to us to raise each other up and this show does just that!
►Why & how did you start this podcast?
Podcasting is the now; being on radio for a long time I knew their was an entire group of awesome people I was missing by not recording a podcast.
Initially I wanted to connect with as many people as possible and I want to connect with them when it's convenient for them, in the car, at home, or while they are at the gym through their ear buds.
I started my podcast several years ago. I released the first episode the day I started my podcasting account.
►How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I record an episode weekly. It takes a few hours to produce an episode. I made time to podcast. Podcasting isn't that expensive, however, it's about getting content out there and providing the highest quality of original content possible.
►What do you gain from podcasting?
I do take sponsorships but they must be fully checked out. My name and reputation is something that matters and I must choose wisely as what to represent and endorse. My first sponsorship is a company that works with me on the radio and they wanted to expand to a more global network.
►How does your podcasting process look like?
I use Spreaker, Stitcher, Google Play, iTunes, iHeart Media, my radio syndication, and the flagship station 570KLIF in Dallas. Guests reach out to me. I do reach out to celebrities to be on the show too. I interview guests in-person, on the phone, and will start with Skype soon!
►How do you market your show?
Listeners find my show on Facebook, Twitter, Google, iTunes, Spreaker, Stitcher, and iHeart Media. Recently, one of my podcasts became a TV show on Amazon Prime, The Celebrity Perspective. Marketing channels: my website, social media.
►What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Do a podcast on what you know. Do your own thing and be original, don't copy anyone. I post on YouTube too, that is a good place to post and people do listen there.
