I listen to a ton of podcasts. I usually search for a new one every couple weeks or when I'm inspired to learn about something new. Honestly, in 2016 after the NFL season was over I became a podcast junkie. See, I'm a huge fantasy football fan and that's all I listened to so once the season was over I began looking for new podcasts. My first podcast for Brand Hero was launched on 1/13/18. It took me several months to launch this one. The motivation came from a few well known podcasters as well as peers that I saw podcasting.
I release an episode every Tuesday. Producing a podcast isn't too difficult at this point as I have a documented process and work with a team of VA's to edit, publish and schedule the pod as well as the social media. I'm an entrepeneur and this is in a sense lead generation as well as a passion project. I typically do podcast interviews during working hours and spend anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the day, on this pod. Otherwise, I'll work on it after hours and on weekends.
I love meeting new people. One of my favorite things about podcasting is networking. I do not have any sponsors. This does build my personal brand.
InMails/Cold Emails etc. to land guests. Calendar invite Sent. Internally create outline and do research. Send calendly link to guest. Record. Send to VA to do editing. VA does a summary of the pod and uploads to my website. VA schedules social media. I send an email to the guest the day of release letting them know it's live and asking if they can share on their social medias etc.
Guerilla marketing mostly.
