► Tell us about you and your podcast
We are a screenwriter and a former movies student who decided to join forces to explore horror movies - our passion - and demonic possession. Why? Because we adored The Exorcist and we fell in love with The Exorcist Tv Show. Because of the amazing Ben Daniels (Father Marcus) we decided to try our hand at podcasting and we never stopped.
Our listeners are people who enjoy horror movies, who are interested in listening two woman ranting about different cultures and mythologies (Zoe is English of Asian lineage, Gaia is Italian and with a classical background) who also enjoy a good laugh, because let's be honest, not every horror movie out there is good...
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
We first began to podcast 2 years ago, to celebrate The Exorcist TV Show and never stopped. We wanted to share our passion for horror and movies and reach for people with our own obsessions and passion.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We started recording this podcast during the first lockdown in March 2020. Back then we recorded almost one episode a day, to try to fight the fear and worries this pandemic gave us. Now release one episode per week. Gaia does the editing and marketing is done basically on Twitter. She just posts when the episode is up.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
We don't have any sponsor, but we wouldn't say no if offered.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
We only had a bunch of guests but we found them on sm. The first, for the podcast dedicated to The Exorcist, was a real Exorcist from Toronto. The second, for "Beneath your Skin" is a paranormal investigator from Canada. It looks like Canadians are too polite to tell us no.
We usually just watch the movie we will talk about during the week and record the episode in the weekend.
When we have guests we use both Skype or Messenger to call them.
► How do you market your show?
We basically use Twitter and hope for the best.
We also have a Facebook page but we are not that good at keeping up with Social Media because of our daily jobs.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Follow your passion. It doesn't matter if your numbers are low at first, always remember you are doing this for yourself. Sure you are also sharing your thoughts with others but if you keep going people will find you sooner or later.
