► Tell us about you and your podcast
I am here to provide support and accountability on your journey to finding your calling and finally living a life of fulfillment, peace, and happiness. The podcasts I offer will provide you with clear action plans to help you connect and communicate with your higher consciousness, unite with your higher power, and learn how to serve your calling in this lifetime. You will be empowered, confident, and living your best life because you will finally be living as the person you were born to be.
My podcast provides unbiased information regarding spiritual concepts, as well as dispelling many myths and common mistaken beliefs regarding ancillary spiritual topics like parapsychology and astrology.
My listeners range from age 18 to 50 and are primarily people who consider themselves spiritual, but not religious.
I have a Master's Degree in Transpersonal Psychology with a focus on Applied Spirituality from Atlantic University - Edgar Cayce ARE. I also have a dual B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from UC Berkeley Law.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I started this solely because I interviewed several young adults regarding how they find their information regarding spirituality and they said primarily online. I then asked if they had access to a podcast regarding spirituality would they consider making it part of their daily practice (like meditation, yoga, etc). I received a resounding yes and that is how the podcast was born. When I started in April 2021, I originally hoped to get 100 downloads a month, and now I am up to over 700 a month.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I designate an hour a day to do the daily podcast. Sometimes I block out 2 hours three or four times a week and do it that way as well. Once you get in the flow of recording and editing, the time to produce an episode becomes very quick. I spend $24 a month on Buzzsprout to host my podcast, and spent less than $100 for the year to Otter to create all my transcripts for each daily episode.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
I primarily podcast to spread truthful information about spiritual concepts to the younger people that need access to unbiased information in a format they are the most comfortable with using. I am accomplishing a goal by reaching as many people as I can while creating lasting content for others to access later. Sponsorship and monetizing isn't my goal, although I wont turn it down if it happens :)
► How does your podcasting process look like?
For my daily podcast I do a short review of the material and then record myself Adobe Audible in true "stream of consciousness" format. I then go back and listen and edit out the mistakes, long "Shatner-like" pauses, and then do a quick edit with music, and it's ready to go. For my interviews, I record them over Zoom so the guest and I can really interact with each other with cameras on. Then I use the audio-only to edit down to a nice concise episode. I do all this on a laptop, with a set of headphones and an aux microphone.
► How do you market your show?
I use Facebook and Instagram, as well as try to give live talks and seminars so people get a direct experience with me that then helps them connect to my voice during a podcast.
Instagram ads are nice as well as you get a lot of new eyes on your account for $50.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Keep it simple. Find topics that you can build a series around so you have an easier way to create consistent content. And find an easy to use recording and editing program like Adobe Audible.
