► Tell us about you and your podcast
I'm Janet, the produce of The Business of Business: Two Daughters & Their Day. The podcast is hosted by entrepreneurs Jack Dempsey and his two daughters Staci Joy and Jennifer Faith.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
The Dempseys are an entreprenuerial family. They want to help other entrepreneurs understand that, ourside having a talent to market, there is a great need to understand the business side of runinng your business.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We release 2 episodes per month, trying to stay within 30 - 60 minutes. One episode is the Dempsey family and the other features a guest entreprenuer. We are lucky to have three business sponsors: Dempsey, Weiss & Associates, J. Faith Hair Studio and Flying High Agility & Dog Training. We crave out 3 hours a month to record and our producer spends about 5 - 12 hours per month producing and promoting.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
We love sponsors and always welcome more. The Dempseys begain this podcast to help and motivate entreprenuers. We learn so much from every guest as well.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
Currently (in this Covid-19 world) we are recording via zoom, producing on a Macbook using GarageBand & iMovie and we host on Buzzsprout. We have a YouTube page as well. It works for us and for our guests.
► How do you market your show?
iTunes is our biggest source for listeners. We maintain a Facebook page where we post several times a week, including reposting previous episodes.
We also upload each episode as an audio file on our YouTube page. We promote through our sponsors - including links on their pages and emails - in Facebook groups that focus on entreprenuership.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Reseach as much as you can, find a hosting site and then just do it. You need an experience producer (editor) or you need to be willing to handle this youself. It takes time to learn so give yourself that time. The amount of editing you want to do it up to you.
