Talk life the universe and everything in between!

Rob and Lindsey meet a long time ago in a christian young adult ministry. In the time between they stared lives and families and found themselves in a different spot of life. Since starting the Podcast they have talked and explored the different views and beliefs that they have grown into with their spouses, kids, and world views. Out these differences we continue to find new topics and views and while we may not always agree the desire is to foster conversation with each other and the community of curious individuals.
 

The 42 Podcast was started as a Pandemic Project! With he state of shutdown and the evaluating of friends near and far a conversation was started on what it would be to start a podcast to explore life from different viewpoints. With Rob and Lindsey in drastically different philosophical and theological positions. The hope and desire was to show that we can all have grace in our disagreement. It took several unaired episodes to figure that out! In the end though we found our rhythm and learned more and more about ourselves as individuals and as podcast hosts.
 

Rob is a full time Youth Director and Lindsey is now a full time School Librarian. In addition we each have our families, Rob, his wife and two kids and Lindsey, her husband and four kids. Life is busy! But we have found a constant time through trial and error to sit down and record. We take Saturday morning and like kids in the 80's and 90's charging to the TV for Saturday morning cartoons. We charge to our studios (A basement and a closet) with our beverage of choice (Coffee) in hand and ready for a good conversation! As for our funding we have each pitched in to get our own equipment and learned a little of what works and what doesn't work. We are each running Mac's with Blue Yeti Microphones. Nothing fancy but it works great for us!
 

The biggest thing we have gained from podcasting is a friendship. Yeah that sounds corny, but it is true. Rob and Lindsey have been able to grow in their friendship challenging each other and hopefully our incredible listeners as well. Our hope is to just show that. We can be friends and have conversations whether we agree or disagree. In fact the desired atmosphere that has been spoken of is old friends sitting at a bar able to talk life and disagree on life, but come back again for another conversation.
 

It all starts with a conversation about having a conversation! We look at things we want to talk about and chart out when and how. Mostly this revolves around our separate lives, what we are experiencing with our families, communities, beliefs, and the world. Since we each live in different states, Rob in Pennsylvania and Lindsey in Maine. There is always something to talk about. From there we build our separate notes and question, Lindsey being a very organized individual always has notes and Rob having written something down somewhere once and lost it, we start the conversation.
 

We have marketed ourselves through friends and social media. We aren't looking to be the next big thing. Do not misunderstand if we are we will happily be the next big thing! For us though it has been about building our friendship and having a place to talk and explore. we have had our families on, friends, and our community leaders. We enjoy just meeting and hanging out with people as we grow the connections that we each have!
 

Take a deep breath! Your podcast does not have to sound like that amazing professional studio produced podcast that inspired you to start podcasting. Your Podcast is about you and what conversations you want to bring into the world. So have fun with it and enjoy the ride that is podcasting!
