Mrigashira podcast brings to you wisdom and insights from the communication leaders on trending topics shaping the industry.
The word ‘Mrigashira’ denotes perseverance, courage and strength. It stands for action-orientation and quest for knowledge. The PR and communication industry also represents all of that.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
Mrigashira is a weekly podcast that communicates with communicators i.e. leadership in the media and communications industry. The idea of the podcast is to offer a platform to industry professionals to talk about issues and trends shaping the industry. So far, we have produced 45 episodes with more than 50+ industry leaders like, Vikram Chandra, Anjana Menon, C Leekha, Harish Bijoor, Minari Shah etc. On an average, we are catering to more than 1,000 unique users a day. This podcast is aimed at evolved audience like communication professionals, senior executives and senior professionals.
We started this journey in Aug 2020 when global pandemic hit us. This time, audio production was comparatively easier n feasible option to start this weekly show.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
Mrigashira is a weekly podcast. Depending on the guests' availability, we produce the episode in 2 days. This is, for now, funded by its parent company, Digitales PR Medios Pvt Ltd which is a digital marketing agency based in Mumbai and Delhi.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
This podcast is aimed at catering to communication professionals which we are now trying to diversify with many more industry leaders. The show does not have any sponsor, as of now. With our own marketing activities, we garner 1000+ weekly listens.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
We interact with our guests via zoom call or even phone calls. The recording is done and after that an editor masters the file with sound and music. We have a standard operating process for achieving the same. Guests line up are generally done by our team.
► How do you market your show?
We can be found on almost all the leading platforms and almost 40% of our listeners come from Android (Google Podcast), 20% come from Spotify etc.
We market it through Facebook,linkedin and mailers.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Consistency and regularity of release podcast is the only theory that we should focus on. Apart from that, the sound editing should be tight and should have soothing effect on ears like music etc.
