► Tell us about you and your podcast
Our podcast is rooted in working less, earning more, and doing good. The cash flow roller coaster and high attrition rate of the real estate industry is something we want to get all of our listeners past. Though we focus heavily on life transition niches like foreclosures, senior downsizing, probate, etc... This podcast is a place for listeners to build their depth of knowledge in all things real estate, real estate investing, and investing beyond real estate.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
Chad Corbett and I met years ago while I was running a real estate call center. Our call center actually used free weekly coaching Chad was doing at the time to learn how to speak to prospects. When we started building a business together, I asked him why he didn't publish a podcast where he could reach more people? I knew how much he had helped the people who were able to find him through his weekly teleconferences.
So here we are, scaling our efforts to help more people work less, earn more, and do good.
Because we are growing beyond the probate space (where we started), this podcast is new. We released the first episode as soon as we picked the name, Estate Professionals Mastermind :P
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We release at least one episode weekly. I handle all of the editing, recapping, transcribing, publishing, and promotions as well as host from time to time - though, I like to discuss marketing topics and help real estate professionals get clear on their brand and marketing strategy.
Chad Corbett made the commitment to coach students weekly - and that means we FIND. THE. TIME. to get this done, each and every week. And I couldn't imagine it any different.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
We haven't had an opportunity to discuss sponsorships, though we have done joint collaborations and also partner for some affiliate marketing for our own Probate Real Estate certification course as well as the products our guests speak about.
We are pacing 1000 downloads a month, but just started running paid ads for our channels this week. Our organic momentum partnered with that will take us very far, I believe.
Podcasting gives me something to look forward to. Because we interact with our audience, I am able to form relationships with people all over the country. It feels like a team.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
Guests usually email me about collaborating, but I've also done some cold outreach on LinkedIn.
Our preparation for episodes is usually someone asking a question, and we frame the discussion around that topic. Our audience is able to ask questions during our weekly coaching episodes as well if they attend the live recording.
All of our interviews have been virtual at this point in time, but Chad's goal is to have a series of "Fireside Chats" where he is in person with guests/friends.
► How do you market your show?
Right now, 26% of our traffic goes right to the buzzsprout embed player on our website. When we publish, episode links are shared to our social channels - Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and even Tik Tok when time allows for it. We also publish to YouTube and send a RSS feed email weekly to people who have opted in for weekly episode emails.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Don't worry about how you sound. You'll get better as you go, but you have to start.
► Where can we learn more about you & your podcasts?
ProbateMastery.com/PODCAST is our webpage for the show.
