► Tell us about you and your podcast
I, Clayton Cuteri, was born in Pittsburgh, PA. I saw that technology was going to revolutionize our lives, so I taught myself how to program. I then graduated from UCF with a B.S. in Computer Engineering.
After college, I moved to San Diego, CA to work for a military contractor for 4 years. In the last 6 months, I have quit my job, traveled the east coast of the US, lived in Brazil for 2 months, and started this podcast!
My podcast is about learning about people's journey to becoming spiritual. I ask people about what they wanted to be when they grow up. This then leads the conversation throughout their life and we explore MANY different rabbit holes along the way. We then discover life lessons that everyone can learn from.

► Why & how did you start this podcast?
About 2.5 years into my job with the military contractor, I started to believe there was something more to life. This led me down a quest of trying many different start-up ideas. I realized that I was doing these all for the money, which is not sustainable.
A year and a half later, after 4 years at the company, I realized that if I wanted something to change, I needed to do it myself and do the things I fear. I feared quitting my job, so I did it. I quit. It was no longer fulfilling me.
I was energized!
I then quickly found myself having deep, meaningful conversations with people. Conversations that everyone should hear! So I hit record and started to upload in August of 2021.
Since then, I have also uploaded a weekly audio blog and have shifted to focus more on consciousness.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I release an interview once per week. I also started to use this podcast as an audio blog. So I then wanted to give my experiences throughout the week to keep people updated with my consciousness and how I was integrating what I preached into my daily life.
It takes maybe 1 hour to prepare with someone ie get to know them. Then it's the recording time and then I download the audio and video. I also put effort into the graphics around it. My podcasts are raw. I believe that you should get the raw content. You should hear people for how they are. So all episodes are uncut. Sometimes the audio issues so that gets edited out, but thats just a part of the process.
I spend about $50 a month on editing tools and hosting platforms. There was the initial cost of a microphone and video camera which came out to about $200.
All funded by myself! I saved up money from my job so I'm living off of that for the time being.

► What do you gain from podcasting?
I purely just want to spread awareness about how we can change the way that we think. I believe that there are universal truths that can be found in each episode. My first priority is to spread this knowledge. I truly gain happiness and energy from producing these podcasts!
The second thing is to make it a way of life. I'd love to generate income from this because it's what I love to do! No current sponsorships. I do promote hardware and software tools that I use for the show and get some affiliate marketing kickback from it.
You can also support the show by donating via PayPal and Patreon. Links are in the episode descriptions. Go listen before you donate!

► How does your podcasting process look like?
Step 1: Find someone!
I look on youtube and Instagram for people in my spirituality niche. If they're on these, they're likely comfortable talking about themselves. I'll usually email them or see if I know anyone in common.
Step 2: Meet and Greet
I set up a meet and greet with them to ensure that they are a good fit for my audience and vision. If so, then we move on to set 3.
Step 3: Record!
We schedule a time to record that gives us 2-3 hours. I don't want the interviews to be rushed and want to let it flow. So I ensure that we get enough time to do so.
Step 4: Riverside
Riverside does a great job of editing the video and audio. I just take that raw audio and upload it to Buzzsprout - affiliate links for both of these services in my episode descriptions.
Step 5: Make clips
I then will make highlights from the episode to upload to Instagram. This helps me reach and attract more people.

► How do you market your show?
Many ways. I will post mini clips as reels on Instagram and tik tok. I then also upload the collection of mini clips as one clip on YouTube.
I also do interviews like this! I will also be interviewed on other people's podcasts.
Overall, this is something that I am trying to get better at doing. I am looking into Instagram ads and other paid options that are out there to spread the awareness of my podcast.

► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Make something that YOU love. It's a marathon and if you're not enjoying what you're producing, you will burn yourself out.
Consistency is key! This is something that is echoed everywhere. Make sure you keep a consistent schedule so that your audience knows when you are releasing your next podcast. It will be difficult for people to follow if you upload 10 one day, then another 3 4 days later, then 1 a month later.
Make a consistent and sustainable schedule. Your audience will appreciate this and work you into their daily life.
