► Tell us about you and your podcast
I'm Jose Guzman, I'm the host of “The Pay Day Podcast”. I do “weekly” on the street interviews about current events & entertainment straight from the crossroads of the world.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
With a mic and a dream to set the world free from the talking head, in 2015 I pulled my homies around the table and recorded my first podcast, it was lit. In a couple hours the first episode was done, I didn't edit much but my show in its current form takes 20+ hours to whip up.
I listen to a couple podcasts, but editing takes up most of my life. I love the lawless nature of podcasts but I needed to spice it up a bit.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
At this point I post new episodes bi-weekly and spend about $80-$100 monthly.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
Unfortunately I have zero sponsors and I do it for the love of the craft.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
Zoom H6 and a dynamic mic for equipment. I pitch people on the sidewalk of NYC questions and get real answers.
► How do you market your show?
I post it on twitter, ig, soundcloud and hope that I get shared.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Find someone with a podcast you can help. A lot of people want to jump into podcasting not realizing nobody wants to listen to your terribly edited show. Learn how to make podcasts better and you'll make better podcasts.
