► Tell us about you and your podcast
We are four bestfriends that all that have known each other over 10 years. All of us are very passionate about music, movies, sports, and science. Our podcast is just us getting together each week, bringing in different topics we find interesting and discussing them amongst one another to create great conversations. One week it could be a space episode where we deep dive into anything aliens to planets. Another week it could be a conspiracy theory episode about how Elon Musk is taking over the world. The next week we could be watching along with an amazing UFC Fight card for one of our FIGHT NIGHTS. I would say our listeners are anyone who likes to laugh, hangout with us and listen to something to new content each week.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
Podcast have become a staple in internet content, they sometimes last for hours on end and have more information than a short Youtube video. I know for sure we all four listen to podcasts. Jared introduced me ( Vince) to Joe Rogan a few years ago and I've started listening to 5 or 6 others weekly. Brendan Schaub, Joey Diaz, Ryan Sickler, Tom Segura, Theo Von, Pat McAfee, and of course Rogan are a few we listen to. We started the idea for the Last Dab Podcast while watching the Last Dance documentary every Sunday night May 2020. The actual podcast came together in November of 2020. It took us 2 or 3 tries to figure everything our for our first episode to come out right.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We release once a week, every Tuesday morning. Production takes about 5 and 6 hours between audio and video. I work on editing at breaks at work and whenever I get home that night. I spend most of the next day after recording editing and putting together the episode. Start up had some costs (mixer, mics, table) but we don't have weekly costs once we got up and running. We do fund this podcast mostly by ourselves for ads and merch but money from ads and supporters always helps us grow.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
We don't currently have sponsorship but would accept one if the company fit with us. We have made around $300 from ads, merch, and listener support in the past 6 months. We average around 300 plays a month. Podcasting has become a way for us to vent, spend time with friends, learn new facts, and just have a good time in life.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
We use audacity for audio editing and filmora wondershare for video editing. We ask friends/acquaintances in our community that fit our show to be guests. Before each episode we get together and each bring in topics for the week. Some episodes we have one big topic that we all want to deep dive discuss. We have done in person and phone interviews. Currently working on how to incorporate zoom interviews.
► How do you market your show?
Our show is on all streaming platforms. Spotify, google, apple, youtube, ect. Our youtube channel now has live video episodes. 47% of our listeners listen to our show on Spotify. I find instagram and twitter to be our most successful marketing channels.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Biggest advice we could give is just stay consistent. The hardest part is to keep going when you hit a roadblock and want to quit. Also, not everyone is going to like your show, make it how you want and the fans you want will listen.
