► Tell us about you and your podcast
As a A/P mechanic for over 14 years I've worked on the largest and most complex aircraft in the world. But the reality of the industry can be surprising and even scary. This podcast follows both mine and others thoughts, experiences and feelings working in the aviation maintenance industry. In today's world SAFETY of aircraft is not always the priority and this podcast gives a 'voice' to the thousands who work in the industry.
I give you an inside look into the GOOD the BAD and the UGLY: an expose; of the indifference and false portrayal of safety.
My listeners are the flying public, aviation enthusiasts and fellow aircraft mechanics

► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I started the podcast after 14 years of frustration in the industry and noting a downward slide in the culture going from safety to making money, it frustrates me that the general public is unaware that airlines and aviation companies hide behind false personifications of safety. i expose the culture, the leadership, airlines and aviation companies who habitually conduct themselves in a toxic way and put the flying public at risk everyday.
I started the podcast first as a means for personal 'venting; but then it caught on as an interest from others. And I do listen to the podcasts myself.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I release an episode the 2nd Wednesday of the month and occasional bonus podcasts or current 'happenings' podcasts called 'special podcasts' when something of importance happens in the industry that warrants a closer look. I have semi-retired from aviation to focus on my family but I still find plenty of time to record, research and keep my social media updated almost daily!
The podcast is completely funded by myself but I have introduced swag into special promotions and the NEW podcast segment called ' Aircraft Tech talk' where I answer questions from listeners and other aircraft mechanics relating to aircraft technical questions.

► What do you gain from podcasting?
I do have one sponsor which is my main podcast host, anchor. I average between 500-1000 downloads a month and occasionally reach beyond 2000 listens for my special or bonus podcasts.
My passion for the topics I discuss can become REAL 'raw' where as I do let the occasional curse word slip out but that is do to my intense love for the industry and my desire to inform and educate on the perils of the industry. Many folks do not even comprehend that many of these airlines and aviation companies WILLINGLY cut corners and make a conscious effort to lie and misnomer people into believing the aircraft they fly on are 100% safe!

► How does your podcasting process look like?
I normally have 3-4 topics a month that I review, research and discuss with close acquaintances within the industry. I receive many emails and messages weekly, both good and bad. Many times I receive emails from concerned listeners or people sharing content that they would like to hear in my podcasts.
I prepare each episode by outlining the objectives from start to end. I make notes and begin research on topic subjects. I know many people working in the industry who I at times reach out to for their insight. I currently have to guests in the works who will be appearing on the podcast later in the year. but since my podcast can be viewed as contentious, it is rather difficult to get routine guests from the industry on the show.
I do receive 1-2 interests a months in regards to people wanting to appear on the show but many folks are concerned about being retaliated against or terminated by the company or airline they work for. I ALWAYS give them an option to remain anonymous on the show and very rarely do I even use peoples names in my podcasts.
Each podcast goes through an editing and review phase and If i do end up using someones name in the recording, I 'bleep' out the name.
The two upcoming guests I use either zoom of the anchor app to record the show. I am also currently in discussions with several other pod casters to do some collaboration podcasts with.
Once each podcast goes through edit and review, I pic a date to publish the podcast depending on the type of podcast it is. The regular podcasts air the 2nd Wednesday of each month but if its a special podcast or a breaking news event, they get published as soon as i can.

► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Be patient yet virtuous. Expect not to be everyone's "best friend" especially a podcast like mine where the 'bad' people I speak about in Aviation hate what I have to say.
