► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I was asked by a client to host a show for their community and I chose to use my brand instead of theirs to tell their community member’s stories. Once the project ended, I sought out other people to interview.
I enjoy asking questions and listening to people’s stories. Since I am growing a multimedia platform to tell brand stories and help people to tell their brand stories, a podcast was a natural progression.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
The show started as a daily video show and then went down to a few episodes a month until I discovered some guest directories - now it’s back to a daily show with 5-6 episodes a week.
The plan is to make money from it, but right now, I don’t. I get the work done between client work and usually am working at editing until late at night each night.
Each episode takes an hour to record and then depending on the quality of the guest, editing could take 2-3 hours. Then comes the marketing, which can be another 30min to an hour depending on where it is being posted.

► What do you gain from podcasting?
It is another level of content for my website and a way to promote my clients to the marketplace. My first sponsor was a client who wanted to provide their community with a value added and instruction about their services.
I now use it to meet and talk to interesting people, exp and my network, find collaborators, and increase the content on my website and places I can build out my digital footprint for SEO and Brand storytelling.

► How does your podcasting process look like?
Guests book a time using my onsite booking system. We meet on zoom and chat for about an hour. Then I take the audio recording and use Adobe Audition to edit the sound and remove the filler words and uhms.
I don’t have a fancy set up. Just a mic and the computers video camera.

► How do you market your show?
I have the podcast on 9 podcast channels, that I know of. I post on social media, email the applicable episodes to my email list, embed episodes throughout my website depending on topic. I also embed them into my digital magazines.
I use the podcast as a multiple channel approach to drive traffic to my website.

► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Niche first and don’t feel bad about not interviewing everyone who contacts you. If you aren’t consistent keep going until you are and find podcast guest directories to locate guests.
