► Tell us about you and your podcast
We are Brian and Jerry, two best friends who love to talk about all things paranormal. Brian (gay) and Jerry (straight)—both Latino—are nerdy boys who get caught up in weekly internet spirals ranging from strange historical events and scary moments caught on camera to longstanding folklore that runs a chill down your spine. Every week, we get together and tell each other what strange topics haunted us that week. We love to have our little gossip sessions, so every episode kicks off with a chisme session to set the mood! Our show is for anyone who loves a casual yap session followed by a researched deep dive into whatever two topics kept us up at night.
Over our episodes, we’ve covered everything from historical scares to strange lore—like America's first vampires, iconic Mexican cryptids, cursed locations, and bizarre historical events like the Dancing Plague of 1518. Whether we're exploring local urban legends or featuring guest encounters, every week's AA meeting is bound to be a fun time!
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
Our podcast actually started as a prank. Brian was bored at work one day and texted Jerry out of the blue, saying, "We should start a podcast and not tell anyone. Then just drop a link after we've uploaded a few episodes. lol." Jerry agreed! So then, on a big group trip to Coachella in 2025, we dropped the link in the group chat, and the rest was history!
We had a completely different name back then and no set structure. Our first few episodes were just us talking about random topics from our week. We share a lot of interests for two guys with very different upbringings. We love video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and Lady Gaga.
A few months in, we both agreed we wanted to do a paranormal episode with actual research and notes. That first researched episode changed the trajectory of everything. We sprinkled in a few researched topics here and there and ultimately fell in love with researching. We decided to commit to the folklore, ghosts, and anything out of the ordinary that sparks our interest.
Since then, we've investigated multiple haunted locations, we've had witches on the show, tarot card readers, and friends who've had firsthand encounters with spirits. We're very open to new experiences and love to ask questions!
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We release episodes every week, and it's truly a labor of love. We both have full-time jobs, but we always find the time to do our research and meet weekly to record. Honestly, it comes down to our love for the game and our friendship! We're really great at encouraging one another and always meeting each other in the middle. Our main drive is that it's just fun—we have a blast every time we record.
As for funding, so far everything has been mostly low-cost. Our podcast is hosted for free through Spotify, we invested in a mic early on, and we purchased our domain name a few months back. All in all, our setup has cost less than $100, and we fund it completely ourselves! We're poor!
► What do you gain from podcasting?
We haven't taken on any sponsorships yet. Right now, podcasting is mainly a passion project and a creative hobby for us, and we find a ton of fulfillment just in being able to create. Working on the show together has deepened our friendship and given us a genuine outlet to express ourselves, have fun, and build a tight-knit community of listeners who love the same weird, spooky topics we do. We have an all-time audience of over 800 listeners,
► How does your podcasting process look like?
We keep it very simple. We record on Brian's gaming PC and use Audacity to edit.
We prepare each episode by picking our respective topics and writing a script based on research. We don't typically tell each other what our topics are in order to get genuine responses from one another when we record. We record together in person in Brian's tiny little bedroom and make the most of it!
Our guests have all been people in our circles. You never realize just how many people in your everyday lives have unique stories to share!
► How do you market your show?
We started our website in the summer of 2026, where we have links to everywhere the podcast is streamable. About 47% of our listeners stream on Spotify, 9% on Apple Podcasts, and the remaining 44% listen on other platforms through RSS. We recently started uploading our earlier episodes to YouTube as well, though it’s a tedious process that’s taking a while to catch up with our main feeds!
Most of our attention comes from social media. We get the most engagement on TikTok, where we post episode clips over motion graphics or drop teaser trailers highlighting the spooky topics of the week.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Just try! At the beginning, you definitely cringe hearing your own voice back. Whenever we go back to our earliest episodes, we can hear ourselves putting on deeper voices trying to sound cool and professional. Things click into place when you let go of that and just be yourself!
All you need is a microphone to get started. Whether that's an expensive setup or just the voice memo app on your phone—just start yapping! Analyze what you like to enjoy in your free time, and just make a podcast you would enjoy listening to if someone else hosted it.
