► Tell us about you and your podcast
I am a 4th year medical student, currently applying to internal medicine residency programs. I am passionate about clinical and diagnostic reasoning, with career interests in medical education.
Our podcast presents clinical unknown cases to a pair of medical students. As a team, they dissect the information and voice their thought process in real time. Each aliquot of information builds on the last. We end by asking the duo to 'put their nickel down' on what they think the final diagnosis is. Episodes conclude with a recap and high-yield, board review of the particular topic of interest.
Our podcast is meant for medical learners, whether pre-med, medical student, resident, fellow, or attending.

► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I completely shifted how I approached my self-directed learning when the COVID-19 pandemic began. I dropped textbooks and online resources for digital medical education through podcasts.
I am a regular listener of the Clinical Problem Solvers podcast and they were the inspiration for me to create something similar for learners earlier in their journey.
Our podcast is a platform to spotlight and share the brilliance of my colleagues.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We currently release an episode monthly, with plans to increase to twice monthly.
Coordinating time with our guests can be challenging as we are all on different clinical rotations during a given month. Our co-host is also a practicing physician who also has several administrative roles as part of the Medical College. Therefore, we often come together after a long day of seeing patients.
I am hosting, editing, and self-funding this project.

► What do you gain from podcasting?
We are not partnered with any sponsor currently.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
Content first requires a clinical-case that we have participated in real life practice.
We then gather the relevant information and organize into a presentable format.
We research the topic extensively. We supplement the discussion with teaching points and clinical pearls throughout the episode.
Lastly, our episodes end with a clinical review of the topic that is intended to be a refresher for board-related studying.
We host our guest primarily in person, but also via Zoom if needed.

► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
It took encouragement from my mentor to dive into the deep end of this project and just run with it. I have not looked back since.
