All things paranormal and creepy!

My co-host is my step-mother and the first thing we bonded over was paranormal topics. One day I brought recording equipment and recorded our conversation then Paranormal XL was born. We like to cover investigations that we have we have done, known haunted locations and the history, less known haunted locations, paranormal topics and the actual meanings, alien encounters, bigfoot sightings, its an endless list. Our listeners are from all over and many different back grounds. When we do conventions it's awesome when listeners approach us and tell us their personal stories.

At work we are allowed to listen to music. Well that started to get boring, then I found podcasts. I have many I like in all categories. When we started it was just us having our "normal" conversations then it hit me to start recording them. My initial goal was to share our stories and knowledge. I knew there had to be people like me that had questions and not everyone is as lucky as I am to have a Mama Mary. We have great chemistry together when we record and I believe it shines through in each episode. We started over 2 years ago and have came so far and learned so much. Nominated for some awards and in the top 25 list for paranormal podcasts. Seems small but it is nice to know the hard work and research we put in does get noticed. I researched all things podcasts for about a year before officially uploading our first episode. The one thing I forgot was sound quality *lol* but live and learn.

We release weekly and sometimes throw out an extra episode during the week. From start to finish including research all the way through editing on average is about 7 to 10 days. Podcasting is my hobby and is a huge passion of mine. So finding time to do all things podcast even with my day job and family at home it's my "down" time. It's my happy place per say. We do conventions which can get costly and we have merch. So with the sale of merch we pay for our convention trips and such.

I have gained many memories and some great friendships from podcasting. Our podcast category being Paranormal opened a whole world of amazing opportunities and people. Being able to do all things I enjoy doing and roll them into something that reaches other people from all over the world is pretty amazing.

Finding guests is fairly simple with our topics. The issue I have is fitting them in, I don't mean that as a negative thing. It's just the direction with the podcast it's more informational. I try to prepare special episodes like the Para-game show to have guests on and doing it that way it's a great networking tool for everyone involved. We pride ourselves on helping in anyway we can. We do extensive history research and try to interview people if we are covering a certain location on history and paranormal experiences. I have used Skype and zoom in the past. I now set interviews up using streamyard with a paid subscription. I can add back grounds and such incase I want to also share the interview via video.

We are on most music/podcast apps. Listeners can simply type Paranormal XL in Google search and it will come up. We were just added to Amazon audio a few months back but listeners can find us on but not limited to iTunes,Google,stitcher,iheartradio,Amazon,pandora etc... * we have a QR code we put on our business cards to make it extra easy for listeners to find us *On social media you can find us on LinkedIn,Facebook,Twitter,Instagram, twitch or www.paranormalxl.com and email paranormalxl@writeme.com

First and fore most don't give up. Getting discouraged is going to happen but get past it. It is hard work and does take time so make sure it is a true passion.
