► Tell us about you and your podcast
I am a certified divorce coach (cdc®) specializing in high-conflict divorce. I help people navigate every aspect of divorce from getting organized, to strategizing, to building their team and working through the emotional upheaval during the process. My listeners are looking for guidance and support during this very difficult time.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I felt it was a great way to give people the information they needed about the various topics of high-conflict divorce. I started my podcast about a year and a half ago. It took me about a month to start. I had a career coach that I brain stormed with. I began to watch lots of You Tube videos on equipment and editing. I had a friend that was my first guest so I wasn't as nervous.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
My releases have been a little erratic. I have tried to do one a month. I have been getting my own high-conflict divorce coaching practice off the ground so sometimes that has delayed my releases. I absolutely love doing a podcast and recently it has absolutely taken off and my listener population has grown. I am also noticing a big shift in that my clients are now coming from listening to my podcast more than ever.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
I do not have sponsorship but would love to. That is the next step for me and would love to generate revenue. Currently the podcast is benefitting me in that it provides extra support for my clients as well as is generating new client leads.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
I have a microphone, headphones, my MacBook Pro and I use Zoom to record my episodes. I edit each episode my self using iMovie. I post a video version on You Tube and the audio podcast everywhere else for listeners. I used Canva to make artwork for my podcast page and I used 99designs to design a logo. I constantly think about topics listeners could benefit from then I ask an expert in that field to be a guest. I also do anonymous interviews with survivors of high-conflict divorces.
► How do you market your show?
My podcast lives on Podbean and is distributed through Apple Podcast (iTunes), Google Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, TuneIn+Alexa, iHeart Radio and Player FM. I post it on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as well.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
The absolute best advice I got was to JUST DO IT. Just take that first step and post the first episode no matter how rough or bad you think it is. You have to start somewhere or you will never start. It will never be good enough or you will always want to change or tweak something. Resist the urge to delay for one reason or another and just do it! There are so many how to videos and book out there to help. I read the book "So You Want to Start a Podcast" with Kristen Meinzer and watched endless You Tube videos on what equipment to buy (you don't need much and do not need the most expensive) and also how to edit.
