Jump In Podcast it's hosted by Doina Bejenaru, a Freelance Talent Acquisition Specialist with more than 13,000 billed hours.

In 2014, an idea turned into action when Doina decided to give freelancing a shot and she did not stop since then. After six years of freelancing, Jump In Podcast was launched as a ''how-to'' guide to align with those who need guidance and motivation.

Doina started freelancing by working six hours per week and she worked her way up to making this a full-time goal.

I am a digital nomad, traveling extensively and I would often receive messages such as ''don't you have a job as we all do'', or ''do you have a sugar daddy that pays for your travels'', so I had to explain to each person the perks of freelancing.

This is how I decided to create Jump In Podcast- to be a voice for all those who want to jump into the freelance world and have no idea where to start.

My goal is to help people get out of the corporate world, to value their freedom and time more while knowing they can earn more by working independently.

I started to Podcast in October 2020. It took me an hour to record and edit the first episode and I clicked the ''Publish'' button. From that moment, I knew that I am committing to help each one of my listeners.
 

I release an episode a week, I am keeping it short, up to 10-15 minutes. Jump In Podcast is short to give all the empowerment tools, and all the condensed knowledge to remove all the fluff. it is all about practical tips to help freelancers land in their first project or corporate workers reconsider their 9-5 job.

This podcast is funded by me, time-wise and monetarily. I spend around 2-3 hours a week creating the content, recording, and editing; along with Social Media Content.
 

Monetizing a podcast it's not a difficult task if you know your target audience. The secret is to be where your listeners are. My podcast is hosted by Anchor and they automatically offer a sponsorship option.

I found my first sponsorship on podgo.co , it's pretty handy to make extra money off my podcast.

My first episodes would have around 100 downloads and over 20 episodes later, I am happy to say I am approaching 1000. How this happened was through extensive marketing on Clubhouse: I host rooms around my topic and I join the audience in rooms that are freelancing related.

Since started to the podcast, I met people that I would not meet in normal circumstances. I helped others scale their freelance career and make wise moves when it's about getting clients.
 

When podcasting, it is vital you have a workflow. How I built mine, and it took time is:

• I am brainstorming for a month worth of content topics
• I highlight the main ideas for each episode
• I hit the record button in Audacity (free software)
• I save the audio as a clean file
• I merge my intro, outro, music, and the pre-recorded content
• I upload it on Anchor, I add the title and shownotes
I find the guests on:
• Clubhouse
• Facebook Groups
• I have an intake form on my website for people to promote themselves as guests for my show
I interview my guests on Riverside.fm, the audio quality is amazing.
 

By creating something and waiting for people to come, this will not happen. I always promote my show: Social Media, Clubhouse, Quora, and on other podcasts.

The most useful channel at the moment is Clubhouse.

Most of my listeners are from the US, they find the show on iTunes (56%), and the second in line is Spotify (28%).
 

If I were to offer advice to all aspiring podcasters, it would be to start now and get perfect later. Podcasting it's a journey, not a competition. Also, Find a community that supports you.
