► Tell us about you and your podcast
When I retired from the World Bank after 26 years of service, I discovered my purpose and that is to make an impact on others' lives which led me to become a life coach and founded the Dream to Rise LLC.
I am an author and published "My Journey Into Becoming".
My podcast is about inspiring and empowering those who are still struggling with their fears, doubts and worries.
My listeners are 25-65 males and females who are still stuck with their past pains, fears, limiting beliefs that stops them from moving forward to manifest their dreams.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I believe that each one of us has a light to share with others. The only problem is we tend to keep them to ourselves because we are not sure how others would perceive it. We have that fear, doubt and worry overpowering us. When I have experienced my struggles which led me to my rock bottom, I asked myself, what will happen to me if I stay there? What will my life be? Will I be living my life to the fullest? Definitely not! It was during that time when I had to make a decision whether to choose light or stay in darkness. The main reason why I created my podcast is to inspire and empower others who are struggling overcoming their blockages and limiting beliefs that stops them from moving forward to manifest their dreams.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I try to release them every week. It takes me 2-3 days to produce an episode.
It is my purpose/WHY that makes me push myself to do my podcast. If I know the stories of other people being featured can help them see the light at the end of the tunnel despite the challenges, they have gone through.
I don't spend for podcasting. I do it myself.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
I have never tried taking sponsorship as I don't know how. I really don't have any idea on how to monetize my podcast.
If I get sponsors, then the more I will have the funding to do more episodes and help others.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
I ask people if they would like to be my guest. Looking for people who were able to rise up after they have reached their rock bottom. I just use zoom to record my interviews.
I would have initial interviews with my prospective guests. If they are fit, then I will proceed with the interview/recording. Then try to come up with a catchy title and description based on their life story and publish it in Anchor.
I usually interview them via Zoom.
► How do you market your show?
Apple podcasts (55%), Web browser (25%), Spotify (8%), Anchor (3%) and others (9%).
I have now listeners from 22 countries. Ages: 23-27 (16%), 28-34 (10%), 35-44 (5%), 45-59 (59%) and 60+ (10%). Female (64%), Male (36%).
I usually promote my podcast whenever I release an episode through my social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, my communities.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
I have learned that I can do all these things which I thought I am not capable of doing them. If you believe, then, you will make it a reality. Where your attention goes, energy flows.
Blogs from Facebook and other social media platforms, videos, podcasts and advice from experts.
