► Tell us about you and your podcast
The hosts, Alex and Mahamood, have been friends for over 10 years and have a good chemistry which is good for a podcast.
Our podcast focuses on our two hosts discussing topical news and issues as well as diving into more sensitive topics.
Our listeners range from 18-59 and we have had listeners in the UK as well as Germany and Canada.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
We started this podcast as a escape during lockdown as we realised as civilisation stopped, we had to find some way to stay sane!
The main goal of our podcast is to have a platform in which we can share our opinion on topics as well as raising awarness for important topics like mental health.
We started the podcast on November 7th 2020 and it usually takes around 2-3 days to release an episode.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We started off on a weekly basis and are still eventually aiming to achieve that goal, it takes around 2-3 days from recording to publishing.
We usually work around a flexible schedule and aim to record on weekends as that is the time that we are most likely to be available.
We currently only spend on hosting, this is around £8 per month.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
At the current moment we are not aiming to gain monetary value from the podcast as it is sill seen very much so as a hobby.
We believe that the podcast does benefit us in other ways though, this is because it is a way to release built up stress and anxiety caused over the week.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
As we are still newcomers to the podcast scene we are currently a virtual podcast via Zoom, yet we plan to focus more on face to face in the upcoming future.
We tend to plan a main topic beforehand and will tend to base the majority of a podcast around this topic.
► How do you market your show?
We host our podcast on a range of platforms, some of these include:
-Spotify
-Youtube
-Google Podcasts
We also have social media accounts on Instagram & Twitter.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
We would advise to just say what you truly believe on your podcast and try to be your real self as this will have a positive impact on your listeners.
