Dana and Jessica are long time friends and comedic performers on the sketch/improv comedy scene in Los Angeles, CA. After performing together for years they decided to combine their friendship, and love of laughter, to create a weekly hour of fun. 'We strive to help our listeners learn how they can help others, in their own communities and world wide, with a little laughter in between.'

Dana had already co-hosted a podcast for a few years that had come to an end- but she wanted to continue in a new direction. Partnering together was so easy, as we already had a friendship shorthand, and we were up and running quickly.

'The Rants and Raves Podcast' has existed for a few years now, with a super loyal listenership, and we have learned about so many amazing organizations and charitable groups along the way.
 

Dana and Jessica are both actresses. You may recognize us from some of our television and film projects like ‘Modern Family’, ‘The Good Place’, ‘New Girl’, 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', ‘Bridesmaids’, and many, many more.

Handling careers, families, live performances, and a podcast can sometimes be a little overwhelming. This is a small, self produced, podcast, done just because we love it. We are self taught and any time put into this journey is done for the pure joy.

Because of this our listeners know if we don't get an episode out weekly, there's a personal reason. In fact, our listeners are so wonderful they check in on us if we are late posting. It's so lovely to feel that support from our community.
 

This is not a money making podcast, at the moment, but we are hoping to add sponsorship soon to cover the costs of production.

The biggest benefit, and a major reason we continue podcasting, is the community it builds. We have met amazing people and other podcasters, from all over the world, who we now consider friends.
 

We are trying out RiversideFM as a new recording tool at the moment. This enables us to record at different locations and automatically create an easy timeline for editing. We edit in Adobe Premiere and use other tools for promotions and clips. We used to record in person but Covid really changed the game. Everyone working from home actually forced out more user friendly options for communication and recording in different locations.
 

Our audio is available on all platforms and video is now available on YouTube. As of now, we have only used word of mouth and social media to grow. But, stepping into the newer trends, we are finding growth within other visual platforms as well.
 

Something we have learned is that many podcasters with production companies, celebrity names/followings, staff and tools we don't have the time or finances to access, are going to grow and thrive beyond what we are able to do on our own. We are always open to opportunities, but we don't let our size get us down. We do it for the love of our content and our community.
