► Tell us about you and your podcast
M.A. in TESOL and Bilingual Education, Georgetown University. I was born in Morocco and grew up in Algeria and the United States. I have been teaching Arabic, French, English and Spanish to learners of all ages. For 36 years, I taught Arabic at the United Nations Language Program at Headquarters in New York.
I thoroughly enjoy the privilege of teaching people from all corners of the world and learning from my amazing learners. I retired in 2017. After raising three multilingual children, I now enjoy writing and teaching languages online.
My podcasts are for Arabic and English learners.
My listeners are English speakers learning Arabic and Arabic speakers learning English.

► Why & how did you start this podcast?
Podcasts are convenient when you have little time. I initially started my first podcast as an audio version of my blog on Medium, but it then started to take a life of its own, I started my podcasts during the Corona crisis. It was a way to keep my mind busy while sharing my lifelong teaching experience with learners around the world.
I released my very first episode the day I got interviewed by Chenellle Hancock. She was quite an inspiration!

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I started releasing daily episodes but got overwhelmed after starting my YouTube channel and switched to two episodes a week.
Though I am officially retired, I am actually working longer hours than before retirement. I like to keep my mind busy, so I always manage to find the time to podcast.
I haven't been able to do any marketing as I am now retired and have no funds for advertising.

► What do you gain from podcasting?
I have no revenue from my podcasts to date and still don't have a sponsorship besides the basic Anchor sponsorship which is not worth it, as my podcasts are too short for a 30-minute add.
About 1200 downloads a month now in my first podcast. My second podcast is too recent for such statistics.
Podcasting allows me to connect with language learners around the world. It makes me feel the joy I felt while teaching United nations staff and diplomats from all corners of the wold over my 36-year career at the United Nations Language Program at UN Headquarters in New York.

► How does your podcasting process look like?
I use my Mac with its built-in mic and the basic host platform, as well as my phone.
I usually host the podcast myself, though I have had a couple of guests whose interviews I turned into language lessons.

► How do you market your show?
I frankly have no time to get into stats and marketing.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
I would make sure I have the time and resources before committing to a certain number of episodes per week or month. I know my podcast suffered when I reduced the number of podcasts per week.
I have found the individual platform help section to be the most useful as far as training goes.
