► Tell us about you and your podcast
I am a Solution Therapist from Mumbai, India. Worked for more than a decade and cater to all age groups.
My Podcast 'Just Talk Therapy' is in Mental Health space. As a therapist I wanted to reach out with simple tips to ease down life. I have just completed Mental Health Awareness initiative as 'Our Thoughts Exactly' as a marathon, inviting various speakers from Mental health platforms to share their perspectives and solutions to cope this covid time.
Honestly I have no prompt answer for that as I am still new as a podcaster. For me to reach out and do my bit as a therapist was a driving force to try this platform.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I came to know about podcasting as a sharing medium, just thought why not to try it out. Through various articles I came to know of its popularity.
I was very clear with my aim to try podcast as a mode to reach out. I have no clue who is going through tough phase in their life. Maybe they will come across my podcast and I believe they can relate to it for sure. It can save someone from low moments and give hope.
I started this podcast on 4th February and on that very same day I released it.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I believe any work backed by passion becomes effortless. Recent season 1 which was daily published was like a marathon. Hard work is for sure needed along with discipline.
I do this as one man army..on my own.
As I said I am new to this all this intricacies I am not so much aware of. I cannot spend on marketing due to financial issue. That does not stop me from giving back to the society to my best ability.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
sponsorship etc I have no clue as said before My passion to help. Infact I never knew we could earn also. Would love to for sure so that I can help others in the process.
Podcasting benefits me in various ways - to connect, to share freely what I want to voice out, to reach out to different audience, learning new things at this age (47 years) and to feel enthusiastic with every episode.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
Anchor is very easy to use and I just use that. On zoom audio format I interview or phone recording. Guests I invite from my contact list on social media, telephone and also on common groups.
Where there is will there is always a way! 28 speakers in 28 days was not easy but very engaging, enriching and worth every effort.
► How do you market your show?
I have shared on almost all the major platforms and whatever someone suggests, I try and abide by it. Listener acquisition yes, through Anchor analytics. I use all my social media platform to share links in the form of posts with reminders. Again, I feel one needs to exhaust their own resources and do best with honesty. One's intentions will connect with people. We all are human and Humanity First. I don't get too involved with analysis, though one should but I don't have a knack of it and time for it.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Get knowledge ABOUT PODCASTing that will be good. But, be sure of your content that is the bottom line.
Be clear about your purpose, your goals and time you will invest. Rest will follow. If you have money to invest then research as it will make your podcast reach out to more people. Have good intentions and don't get wrapped up in numbers only.
