► Tell us about you and your podcast
The Podcast is designed to help other up & coming Actors with advice. Being an Actor can feel like a lonely road so I wanted to create a network that aims to help Actors with tips & tricks.
I have returned to Acting in 2017 after 20 years of Corporate life. I also work as a Voice Over Artist and Presenter.
My co-host is Sam Folden, a young up and coming Actor.
Our main audiences are either other up & coming Actors looking for advice or to relate and people who are just interested in what happens behind the scenes on set.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
After purchasing some gear to help book more Voice Over projects, I thought a Podcast is a great way to keep using all this equipment while helping other Actors. There seems to be so many people willing to make money out of Actors rather than from their work, Acting Coachs, Agents, Managers, Brand builders, Voice Coaches... it was time for some free help.
It's been a really positive experience building the Two Unemployed Actors community.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We aim to release an episode each week. From special guests & film reviews right through to how we have been succeeding (or not) in our week of auditions and on set experience,
The podcast is wholly produced by me (including all funding) in order to keep the tips and tricks totally free for other Actors.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
The primary aim of the Podcast is to bring together other up & coming Actors with our own experiences.
It's refreshing to share our experience with others who appreciate the advice.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
I record using my Voice Over Microphone - Rode Procaster (Sam gets a mic too!) and find using the Rodecaster Pro mixing desk the easiest way to bring it all together. I record to micro USB and also film each episode.
I edit first on Adobe Premiere Pro, after treating the audio in Adobe Auditionm then the files are uploaded to YouTube, all the Podcast platforms and even the Podcast Website.
► How do you market your show?
Social Media and word of mouth have helped to increase our audience. We are active on Facebook and instagram and find most Actors interact with us on those platforms.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Keep going! Although it feels like you are on your own (a lot like Acting!) chances are if you are interested in your content others will be.
► Where can we learn more about you & your podcasts?
A simple google search for me or the Podcast will bring up a host of options from Website, to LinkedIn and Social media.
We don't want to take money from other actors, our focus is on working with companies to integrate their show sponsorship.
