►Tell us about you and your podcast

I am a creative that sort of dabbles into every creative medium, so I am a photographer, graphic designer, web designer, film maker and audio producer. I like telling stories across different platforms. Mikmik Express is a podcast which serves as a platform for music from across the world where we can hear different cultures and musical perspective mix together.

►Why & how did you start this podcast?

I wanted to know more cultures, people, creative and music from across the world. I want it to be a platform that highlight collaboration and better engagement with different culture.

►How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?

I release my podcast on a weekly basis and it takes me an average of 5 hrs per week to collate and organize my program. If I can, I try to organize and get in touch with people who are breaking down walls in their journeys and interview them to get a sense of their process. I fund my podcast by myself using whatever I can find to work with.

►What do you gain from podcasting?

I haven't delved into the financial aspect of the podcasting but I am looking to delve into financial prospects this year. I do it because it is what I love to do and have been doing it for 6 yrs on the desire and drive to get to know more cultures, music and people. But working on monetizing it for the near future, at least to get sponsorship to highlight the work of more people and more cultures.

►How does your podcasting process look like?

I listen to music all the time and try to listen to different genres and types and collate what I listen to into different playlists. I also elicit my listeners to submit their 5 best songs so that I can create a playlist from it.

►How do you market your show?

I use Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to advertise when the shows are up.

►What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?

Just start and make it a point to learn and make your program better than the one you did before. Always improve, but do it because you love it the rest will come later.
