►Why & how did you start this podcast?
I do listen to quite a few podcasts.
►How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I release a episode every Tuesday. From recording to post production I have both the audio and video versions of my podcast complete with four hours time. Because I manage my time effectively, and when something is important to you, you make time to do it.
Because I keep my production in house, the costs to make them ready for viewing is relatively cheap. But it varies from episode to episode. Marketing wise, sometimes I spend nothing at all, and if it is a really important guest I will spend hundreds of dollars to promote the episode.
►What do you gain from podcasting?
There is no fee to come onto my podcast. While I would not turned down a sponsored podcast, the podcast is primarily for increasing my brands visibility at this stage.
I would like for affiliates interested in capturing my audience's attention. Being that I run financial websites, I would like for financial sponsors.
Podcasting benefits me in many ways. It grows your personal network, increases you market presence, and you learn from other entrepreneurs along the way.
►How does your podcasting process look like?
Tools: Audacity and Camtasia. Refine the audio in Audacity and the video in Camtasia.
Fnd guests to interview: Persona networking and websites such as Radio Guest List. Using Zoom to do the interviews is my preferred method.
►How do you market your show?
I publish to Buzzsprout, and it distributes out to all the other podcast networks. I do not know the exact breakdown. But I find my email subscriber list to be the most useful.
►What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Things you've learned on your journey weren't obvious beforehand. The importance is having a really refined onboarding process, and reaching out to connect to as many other podcasters as possible to build my authority.
Podparrot.com has been the most helpful in helping my to refine my process.
