►Tell us about you and your podcast

My name is Rafael Baptistella Luiz and I am a professor at Game Dev. As a hobbie I have been the RPG Next website Co-founder since 2015. Our work is to produce a podcast, games, and text about RPG for both people who love RPG and those who are new to it. Our podcast "RPG Next" is recorded in entirely in Portuguese.

►Why & how did you start this podcast?

I myself listen to a lot of podcasts. I like how you can listen as you do other things. In 2015 we started a podcast with our initial goal to spend more time playing RPGs. It took us months to release the first episode because I had to prepare and learn a lot before producing it.

►How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?

We currently release 3 times a week. Each episode takes about 3 to 10 hours of work during our free time. We fund this podcast by ourselves and we spend a lot of time doing all the jobs.

►What do you gain from podcasting?

We have some financing coming from Padrim.com.br/rpgnext, but most of that money is donated to social causes.

►How does your podcasting process look like?

First, we record using VoIP, then of course we need to edit. After that hard work, publishing comes around using the website and social media.

►How do you market your show?

The majority of the show is marketed via social media.

►What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?

Watch and listen to tutorials beforehand, but you don't have to go overboard. Start publishing as soon as you are ready to deliver unique content. Learn by doing and don't ever stop studying.
