Smooth Business Growth Podcast - 15 Minutes of Pure Marketing Strategies Proven To Move The Needle In Your Business. The goal is to share 15 minutes of fast paced pure marketing strategies proven to move the needle in your business. We want to help business owners learn more about leadership, management, online and social media marketing and just great tips and strategies to grow their business. Our listeners are entrepreneurs looking to grow their business.

►Why & how did you start this podcast?

I wanted to start podcasting as it's a great content marketing strategy and a way to leverage my expertise, network and create long lasting relationships with other entrepreneurs. I've been podcasting for 2 years now and still love it! I was so nervous at first - and of course the first couple of episodes are never the greatest, but you find your groove.

►How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?

I do a weekly podcast and release new one's 3x a month. The last week of the month I re-promote past podcasts. As my business offers full podcast production services, my team handles all the back end elements for me. I simply book and record - my team does the rest (edit, publish, promote, and communicate with guests). So my time I would say is 2.5 hours a month. Outsourcing or having a team is the way to go!

►What do you gain from podcasting?

I don't take sponsorship. The benefits I receive from podcasting are 3 fold. 1 - it has brought me clients for those that listen 2 - it has increased my e-list and 3 - it has created amazing connections, networking, referrals and lasting friendships with other entrepreneurs - which I love!

►How does your podcasting process look like?

I use a number of great tools in my business. Libsyn for publishing, and Simple Podcast Press for my website as the player. My editor and graphic artist uses other tools of course. I find guests organically and also get approached by some guest interview booking services. I get many referrals from other guests and connections I have. I have reached out and pitched a few guests - but mostly organically. I use Zoom for my podcast recordings - so easy! To prepare I review the guest's work, podcasts they've been on, blogs and material/services and formulate the questions myself. With only 15 minutes for the show I have to strategically pack the show with questions that will bring great tips.

►How do you market your show?

I distribute on iTunes, stitcher, iheartradio, google play music. I publish on my website and You Tube. I share on my social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Facebook and Instagram). Most listeners are acquired through my website and iTunes. I find email, website and Facebook my best tools thus far.

►What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?

Advice I would give is to not let fear stand in your way. Hire out for all the technical/producing elements and focus on providing great content. Know your first couple are not going to be your best work - and that's okay. You will get into the swing of things soon enough. Have fun - don't be afraid to let your personality shine.
