► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I have been on radio and TV and wanted to branch out into something I control. I also want to have the opportunity to meet with amazingly talented people in their field, and a podcast helps me do that. I also want to help folks understand the fast moving world of digital marketing, so thats what I do!
I started my podcast in September 2023 and have 20 episodes so far, so it is going well.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I release an episode twice a week, it takes about 2 hours per episode to edit and get the kinks worked out.
I do my podcasts at night with a US audience, and since I am in Norway, the time difference works for me.
I spend about $100 a month on the various softwares I use, but obviously the setup costs are higher, about $1000 excluding the laptop obviously.

► What do you gain from podcasting?
Right now I have been focusing on getting my listenership to a decent number so that I can get potential sponsors. So I think once I get to about 40-50 episodes, I will be ready for monetization.
In terms of the benefits, I have learned a great deal about podcasting and the industry around it, but it has also forced me to learn new tools such as Descript and Riverside. The other benefit is that I have met some great people and I am able to share useful stories.

► How does your podcasting process look like?
I use a 4k webcam from 360. I have wireless Røde ME mikes, I use Descript, Riverside and Canva.
Prep for episodes is based on the bio information they share with me, and then I dive deeper into their social media channels, their previous interviews and their personal websites.
I then have a list of questions I have ready for them and usually keep it pretty conversational where I can.
I interview folks on Riverside exclusively.

► How do you market your show?
I use Spotify for my podcast and that sends it off to Apple, Google and other sites. I then add a separate video podcast onto Youtube. The majority of my views come from Apple and Youtube.
I use Tiktok, Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter.

► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
I would take a bit of time to understand what type of guest you want on the show, nothing worse than wasting your time and the guests if there is no chemistry.
Get your ducks in a row in terms of how long it takes to edit an episode and how you will try to market your show.
