► Tell us about you and your podcast
The No More Perfect Podcast help you embrace your messy, real, imperfect life and take the next right step in the relationships that mean the most to you! My listeners are moms, dads, and those who want to strengthen faith, family, and friendships.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I started the No More Perfect Podcast in June 2020. The pandemic cancelled all my speaking for the remainder of 2020 so I decided to take my speaking to the people through podcasting. My bestselling books No More Perfect Moms, No More Perfect Kids, and No More Perfect Marriages laid the foundation for the title and content of the show.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I record one episode a week. My son's company (AustinSavage.co) manages the podcast for me (editing, show notes, scheduling for release, and social media). I work months ahead on podcast episodes so that I can still have content in busy speaking seasons (now that we're finally speaking again!) I do fund the podcast myself and haven't yet stepped into sponsorship.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
Podcasting is an extension of the ministry my husband and I have. We are relationship coaches specializing in marriage crisis and infidelity recovery. My episodes are Christian based and they cover the topics of marriage, parenting, friendships, relationship with God, and more!
► How does your podcasting process look like?
I use Squadcast to interview my guests. Buzzsprout is what we use for hosting and distributing the podcast. I find my guests through personal relationships and reaching out through their website. I write an intro and prepare some questions ahead of time but I allow the conversation to go wherever it needs to go.
► How do you market your show?
52% listen on Apple and 13% listen through a player on my website (https://jillsavage.org/podcast/). I market through my email list, my blog, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Don't wait for perfect. Just get started. My early episodes aren't the quality I produce now but they got me started! People don't want perfect...they want authentic. Be authentic and offer quality content...that's what's most important!
