► Tell us about you and your podcast
I’m Ronda, the creator and host of Life Points with Ronda. I’m a licensed relationship counselor, serial entrepreneur, and lifelong storyteller who is passionate about helping people grow in love, life, and purpose. My background is rooted in guiding others through self-discovery, financial literacy, emotional wellness, and building stronger connections—both with others and with themselves.
Life Points with Ronda is a podcast that dives deep into relationships in every form: romantic, platonic, financial, spiritual, and even the relationship we have with ourselves. Each episode explores topics that matter in today’s world—love and dating, marriage, personal growth, money management, lifestyle choices, and cultural conversations—with an honest, loving, and professional tone. My goal is always to educate, uplift, and spark real conversations.
My listeners are a diverse audience of men and women who want practical tools for relationships and personal development. Many are professionals, entrepreneurs, and everyday people seeking guidance on how to thrive in love, navigate challenges, and create healthier, more abundant lives. What unites them is the desire for relatable, real-life conversations that don’t just scratch the surface but truly transform the way they think, love, and live.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I launched Life Points with Ronda on September 14, 2022. At first, it took me about a week to get comfortable with the process—learning the equipment, recording, and editing—and I started out on Spotify for Podcasters. It was definitely a learning curve, but once I found my rhythm, podcasting quickly became a passion.
I chose podcasting because I wanted a space where I could connect deeply with people in a way that felt authentic and accessible. I listen to podcasts myself and love how intimate and powerful they are—you’re literally in someone’s ear, having a one-on-one conversation. That intimacy is what drew me in.
My initial goal was simple: to share relationship insights and life lessons that could truly help people. As a relationship counselor and entrepreneur, I’ve seen how much people need honest conversations about love, money, self-growth, and lifestyle. I wanted to create a podcast that felt like sitting down with a trusted friend who could give both professional guidance and relatable real-life talk.
I’ll never forget releasing that very first episode—it wasn’t perfect, but the response was overwhelming. Listeners reached out to say they felt seen, heard, and inspired, and that moment showed me I was on the right path. From the beginning, my motivation has been to educate, inspire, and create a safe space for listeners to reflect, grow, and transform. Podcasting gave me the perfect platform to bring those life points to light.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
When I first started Life Points with Ronda, I had to carve out the time intentionally. As a licensed relationship counselor and entrepreneur, my schedule is always full, but I believed in this podcast so much that I treated it as part of my purpose, not just a project. I started by setting aside small blocks of time late at night or early in the morning to record and edit until I got into a steady flow.
In the beginning, I released episodes weekly, though the production time varied depending on the topic. On average, it takes me several hours to research, write, record, edit, and then prepare everything for publishing and promotion. I’m a solo podcaster, so everything from scripting to final upload happens in-house, which requires consistency and discipline.
Funding-wise, I self-finance the podcast. The main expenses include hosting, equipment, editing tools, and marketing. But the biggest cost isn’t the tools—it’s my time. As an entrepreneur, my time is valued at $250 an hour, so every episode represents a significant personal investment. I view that not as a loss, but as a conscious decision to pour into something that matters to me and to my listeners.
Right now, I’m just beginning to explore marketing for my brand. Up until now, my focus has been on creating high-quality, meaningful episodes that build trust with my audience. As the podcast grows, I’m starting to look at marketing strategies to expand visibility, reach more listeners, and position Life Points with Ronda as a recognizable brand across multiple platforms.
Making time hasn’t always been easy, but when something aligns with your calling, you find a way. For me, Life Points with Ronda is more than a podcast—it’s an investment in my listeners, my community, and the mission I carry to uplift and educate. That makes every hour and every dollar worth it.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
At the moment, I don’t make any money from Life Points with Ronda. I don’t have sponsorships yet, and I fund the podcast entirely on my own. I view this as an investment in my brand, my audience, and the bigger vision of where I want to take the platform.
What I gain from podcasting goes far beyond money. This podcast has allowed me to share my voice, connect with people from all over the world, and build a community around meaningful conversations about love, relationships, financial literacy, and lifestyle. Every message from a listener who says an episode helped them through a tough time or gave them a new perspective is worth more than any dollar amount right now.
Podcasting has also benefited me professionally by strengthening my skills in content creation, communication, and audience engagement. It’s given me a platform to showcase my expertise as a licensed relationship counselor and entrepreneur, and it has opened doors for future opportunities in speaking, coaching, and brand building. Personally, it’s been a powerful outlet for growth and creativity, reminding me that my voice has impact and that people are hungry for genuine, transformative conversations.
I know revenue and sponsorships will come as the podcast continues to grow, but for now, the true reward is the connection I’m building with my audience and the chance to pour love, knowledge, and encouragement into their lives each week.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
My podcasting process is very personal and hands-on since I’m a solo podcaster. I don’t have guests at the moment, so every episode is my voice, my thoughts, and my research shared directly with my audience.
I usually start with an idea or theme that I feel is important—whether it’s relationships, financial literacy, lifestyle, or cultural conversations. From there, I spend time researching, outlining, and writing out detailed notes or full scripts. Because I value depth, I focus on creating episodes that go beyond surface-level talk and really give listeners practical tools, fresh insights, and food for thought.
When it’s time to record, I keep things simple. I use my microphone, laptop, and recording software, and then I handle my own editing to make sure the audio is clean and easy to follow. I don’t overcomplicate it with fancy equipment—what matters most to me is clarity and consistency.
Right now, I don’t bring guests on the show, so there’s no scheduling or interviewing involved. My process is really about creating a quiet space, sitting down in my little room, and speaking directly from the heart. That’s part of what makes Life Points with Ronda unique—it feels like an intimate conversation between me and my listener.
► How do you market your show?
Right now, I’m still in the early stages of marketing Life Points with Ronda. Up until now, I’ve focused primarily on creating meaningful content and building consistency with my episodes, and most of my listeners have found me organically through podcast platforms like Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Podbean.
I don’t have a detailed breakdown of listener acquisition sources yet, but I know many of my listeners discover me through search and recommendations on these platforms. Word of mouth also plays a big role—people share episodes that resonate with them, and that helps new listeners find me.
As I move forward, I’m starting to put more focus on marketing my show as part of my larger brand. Social media has been one of the most useful tools for me, especially platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where I can share snippets, behind-the-scenes thoughts, and updates with my community. I’ve also recently begun exploring email marketing and ways to integrate my podcast with my website so listeners can engage with my content across multiple channels.
My goal is to expand my marketing efforts to make Life Points with Ronda not just a podcast people stumble upon, but a recognized platform that people actively seek out for relationship guidance, life lessons, and empowerment.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
My biggest advice to aspiring podcasters is to just start. Don’t wait until everything feels perfect—you’ll learn and grow as you go. When I launched Life Points with Ronda, I didn’t know everything about microphones, editing, or hosting, but I trusted my voice and my message. That confidence is what carries you forward more than fancy equipment ever could.
Something I learned along the way that wasn’t obvious at first is how much discipline and consistency podcasting takes. Creating episodes regularly, researching, editing, and marketing—it all requires time and intention. As an entrepreneur, I quickly realized that my time is my most valuable investment, and that applies to podcasting too. So treat your time like the currency it is and build a system that works for you.
Another lesson is not to compare your journey to anyone else’s. It’s easy to feel like you need sponsors, a big audience, or professional production from day one, but the truth is your authenticity and dedication are what attract people. Focus on building a genuine connection with your listeners, and the rest will follow.
In terms of resources, I recommend exploring platforms like Spotify for Podcasters or Podbean for hosting, and checking out YouTube tutorials for editing and setup. There are also plenty of podcasts about podcasting, but sometimes the most helpful resource is simply trial and error—getting in front of the mic and learning from experience.
