ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Chew on this: Property managers estimated 36% of their clients would switch to self-management if AI made it easier.
Owners said 79% would ditch their PM if AI made it easier.
Tracy Streich previewed those stats as part of the new AppFolio/NARPM research. Tracy owns Renters Place in Tulsa, serves as NARPM's treasurer, and is president-elect for 2027, so we spent most of the hour on what's changing inside NARPM.

We get into the move from OMG to MCI after roughly 20 years, the Executive Director search (I'm on the task force), a Home Depot program that paid NARPM just under $300K last quarter, and what NARPM's lobbying actually costs.
Then I get on my soapbox. NARPM has millions in the bank, and I think some of it should fund legal fights against unconstitutional local landlord laws. Tracy's reply: send the board a proposal.
