WEBVTT
1
00:00:00.091 --> 00:00:08.719
There was this deep fear that this risky bet that I took was a failure and that I was a fool.
2
00:00:09.400 --> 00:00:13.623
Behind every success story, there are painful lessons that we never hear about.
3
00:00:13.844 --> 00:00:15.906
Emitting weakness or emitting fear...
4
00:00:17.120 --> 00:00:19.720
is actually a bigger lift for a leader.
5
00:00:19.821 --> 00:00:21.821
And that is unquestionably gonna be on me.
6
00:00:21.961 --> 00:00:23.761
Being a CEO is like crazy.
7
00:00:23.801 --> 00:00:25.942
I was like, I'm not that person, you know?
8
00:00:26.902 --> 00:00:29.162
I'm Ali Portovi and this is confession.
9
00:00:29.582 --> 00:00:33.563
I was angry, I was sad, I was every emotion you can imagine.
10
00:00:34.123 --> 00:00:35.663
That was the definition of rock bottom.
11
00:00:36.643 --> 00:00:38.584
Inside you're like making oh .
12
00:00:38.624 --> 00:00:40.524
You know, like why am I here?
13
00:00:40.804 --> 00:00:45.005
I basically felt like I was lying and it felt just terrible.
14
00:00:45.910 --> 00:00:53.793
Even the most successful person you know is a human being, someone who makes mistakes, who has lessons that they learn from those experiences.
15
00:00:54.133 --> 00:00:55.673
So what are you looking for in a new CEO?
16
00:00:55.853 --> 00:00:56.674
Why are you asking me?
17
00:00:56.854 --> 00:00:57.854
Ask the board members.
18
00:00:57.874 --> 00:00:58.774
They're the ones who fire me.
19
00:00:58.834 --> 00:01:00.815
It's just always harder than you think.
20
00:01:00.835 --> 00:01:01.935
I distinctly remember.
21
00:01:01.955 --> 00:01:03.156
In fact, it haunts me.
22
00:01:03.336 --> 00:01:04.256
Did you feel ashamed?
23
00:01:05.416 --> 00:01:06.317
This is Confession.
24
00:01:06.837 --> 00:01:10.398
