00:00:27.920 --> 00:00:32.640
Good morning and welcome to the Wellness Dentist Podcast.
00:00:32.880 --> 00:00:39.920
We have one of the best and most exciting guests today that I've been wanting to bring to the show for so long.
00:00:40.000 --> 00:00:42.000
And I'm so glad that Dr.
00:00:42.240 --> 00:00:43.759
Al Denenberg is here.
00:00:43.920 --> 00:00:44.079
Dr.
00:00:44.240 --> 00:00:46.479
Al Denenberg, thank you so much for going on the show.
00:00:46.799 --> 00:00:48.719
Katie, thanks for the opportunity.
00:00:48.880 --> 00:00:51.679
This is awesome, and I love this stuff, as you know.
00:00:51.840 --> 00:00:53.039
I'm sort of a ham.
00:00:54.479 --> 00:01:03.520
Your passions and your dedications and your information that I would just I would just saw you in person last month in Charleston for our meeting.
00:01:03.759 --> 00:01:05.439
Yes, yes, it was a great meeting.
00:01:05.519 --> 00:01:05.760
Yes.
00:01:06.159 --> 00:01:07.040
IBDM meeting.
00:01:07.200 --> 00:01:13.760
And you, the very first speaker, came out and make everyone was looking at each other, was like, amazing.
00:01:13.920 --> 00:01:15.599
We want more information.
00:01:16.000 --> 00:01:22.000
And I can't wait to share that with our listener, what we learned in Charleston from your lecture.
00:01:22.319 --> 00:01:23.120
So, Dr.
00:01:23.359 --> 00:01:26.079
Al, first, our listener would love to know more about you.
00:01:26.159 --> 00:01:28.799
Can you share with us a bit of your story and your background?
00:01:29.519 --> 00:01:32.959
First of all, I'm 74 years old, so you got to understand that.
00:01:33.120 --> 00:01:36.560
I've been a periodonist for 44 years.
00:01:36.799 --> 00:01:52.159
I stopped clinical practice in September 2018 because I was diagnosed with incurable bone marrow cancer, specifically my multiple myeloma, with severe lytic lesions throughout my skeleton.
00:01:52.319 --> 00:01:55.519
That kept me out of an office environment.
00:01:55.680 --> 00:02:01.359
And I was given three to six months to live in September 2018.
00:02:01.599 --> 00:02:09.759
On that news, I rejected chemotherapy because if I only had three to six months to live, why would I destroy my body?
00:02:10.000 --> 00:02:21.680
And in addition, I knew that my immune system would be damaged because of my malignancy, and chemotherapy would destroy it completely.
00:02:21.840 --> 00:02:30.879
And so I figured out what's now 10 unconventional cancer protocols to support my body's immune system, rejecting chemo.
00:02:30.960 --> 00:02:32.159
And I did very well.
00:02:32.400 --> 00:02:42.719
And in September or August of 2019, I had some severe fall, and it's kind of crazy the way this worked.
00:02:43.039 --> 00:02:49.199
I was brushing and flossing my teeth, and I wanted to throw away the dental floss.
00:02:49.280 --> 00:02:54.879
Now, this is August of 2019, a year after my diagnosis and prognosis.
00:02:55.039 --> 00:03:01.039
And I knew that I had weak bones and I had several little pathological fractures along the way.
00:03:01.199 --> 00:03:11.360
So I twisted, I'm standing on my on my ceramic floor in the bathroom, my feet are planted, I twisted to the left about 90 degrees because that's where the trash can was.
00:03:11.439 --> 00:03:14.000
I was throwing the dental floss away.
00:03:14.240 --> 00:03:18.000
When I twisted, my right femur snapped in half.
00:03:18.319 --> 00:03:25.520
I crashed to the floor, I broke several ribs, and I broke my right humerus in half.
00:03:25.840 --> 00:03:30.240
So my big bones on the right side of my body were severed.
00:03:30.400 --> 00:03:36.719
And I knew that because when I looked, well, what was happening, my leg and arm were in positions I could never bend them.
00:03:36.960 --> 00:03:38.240
Of course, there's a lot of pain.
00:03:38.319 --> 00:03:40.080
I'm screaming and calling for my wife.
00:03:40.240 --> 00:03:41.919
She comes in, lots of emotion.
00:03:42.080 --> 00:03:45.439
We get emergency services, takes me to the hospital.
00:03:45.680 --> 00:03:52.560
And what I knew was that I had already lived six months or so beyond my prognosis.
00:03:52.719 --> 00:03:58.879
And the few patients that I have had that have had hip fractures have died months, just several months after that.
00:03:59.120 --> 00:04:01.680
So I knew this was the end.
00:04:01.919 --> 00:04:05.039
I knew that I was going to die and I wanted to die.
00:04:05.280 --> 00:04:06.800
I was ready to die.
00:04:07.120 --> 00:04:08.400
And I went to the hospital.
00:04:08.479 --> 00:04:15.520
They had to fix my right femur because my right femoral artery was going to perforate and I would have blood to death.
00:04:15.599 --> 00:04:22.399
They didn't want a patient dying in the emergency room, so they fixed that and they sent me to hospice to die.
00:04:22.720 --> 00:04:26.720
And I was actually in hospice in August of 2019.
00:04:26.959 --> 00:04:37.040
Now, strangely enough, in September 2019, there's a hurricane coming through Charleston, where I live, and the hospice nearby.
00:04:37.360 --> 00:04:39.680
And it's threatening the hospital.
00:04:39.839 --> 00:04:44.720
It's moving at a mile an hour and 187 mile an hour winds.
00:04:44.879 --> 00:04:48.079
The hospital is ordered to evacuate their patients.
00:04:48.160 --> 00:04:49.360
They don't know where to send me.
00:04:49.439 --> 00:04:50.480
My wife is a nurse.
00:04:50.720 --> 00:04:51.920
They send me to my home.
00:04:52.000 --> 00:04:53.519
I'm still under hospice.
00:04:53.759 --> 00:04:58.959
And now my wife gives me some tough love and she says, Look, you're not a victim.
00:04:59.040 --> 00:05:00.160
You are a survivor.
00:05:00.319 --> 00:05:02.959
Let's get you back on your unconventional cancer protocols.
00:05:03.040 --> 00:05:04.319
Let me get a therapist in.
00:05:04.480 --> 00:05:07.519
He gets the catheter out of me, and that was terrible.
00:05:07.759 --> 00:05:11.680
He gets me out of bed eventually, and off narcotics and everything.
00:05:11.759 --> 00:05:14.160
I eventually I start walking with a walker.
00:05:14.639 --> 00:05:24.800
And in several months, I mean several weeks, I go back to my oncologist in October 2019, revoking hospice, and he's amazed that I'm alive.
00:05:25.040 --> 00:05:32.319
Fast forward to May of 2020, I've tweaked a few things in my cancer protocols, different diet type of tweak.
00:05:32.480 --> 00:05:37.839
And in May of 2020, my PET scan shows no active cancer cells.
00:05:37.920 --> 00:05:40.319
So I'm doing amazingly well.
00:05:40.480 --> 00:05:46.800
So along this way, I've created a method to support an immune system.
00:05:46.879 --> 00:05:48.160
And that's what I teach.
00:05:48.399 --> 00:05:51.920
And I have clients all over the world now, which is amazing.
00:05:52.240 --> 00:05:54.800
And so that's where I am now.
00:05:55.199 --> 00:05:59.600
An immune system is everything we need to stay healthy.
00:05:59.839 --> 00:06:13.600
And the immune system not only begins with food that is absorbed by the body, but it begins with food that does not have anti-nutrients damaging the food and the gut microbiome.
00:06:13.680 --> 00:06:16.240
And the gut microbiome must be healthy.
00:06:16.399 --> 00:06:26.399
And if we can support all of that, we can prevent chronic diseases and have a robust immune system, which is everything that I do now.
00:06:26.720 --> 00:06:27.519
Beautiful story.
00:06:27.680 --> 00:06:29.360
I hear that so many times, Dr.
00:06:29.519 --> 00:06:36.800
Al, but I always amazed of how not only you survive, but you make an impact out of that story.
00:06:36.959 --> 00:06:41.040
And not only you're helping a lot of patients, you're helping so many dentists.
00:06:41.279 --> 00:06:48.720
Because at that conference that we just had last month with the IBDM, you were speaking in front of all the biological dentists and hygienists.
00:06:48.879 --> 00:06:52.720
And we all blew away because we all thought we know nutrition.
00:06:53.040 --> 00:06:56.079
We all thought what our patients are doing is the right.
00:06:56.319 --> 00:06:58.879
So you share with us a lot of myths.
00:06:59.120 --> 00:07:05.279
And I would love for you to share with our listener what if there was the favorite one that you'd be like, wow, people always think this is.
00:07:05.680 --> 00:07:17.040
Well, you know, every time I talk about this, mouths drop, especially dentists, and they don't exactly like me for saying this, but dental plaque is healthy until it's not.
00:07:17.680 --> 00:07:20.959
So dental plaque is a unique structure.
00:07:21.120 --> 00:07:23.519
It is a healthy biofilm in the body.
00:07:23.759 --> 00:07:26.480
You don't want to remove dental plaque when it's healthy.
00:07:26.639 --> 00:07:43.680
And here's the interesting thing: if you look at the body and think about what structure pierces the epithelial tissue, buries itself in sterile tissue like bone, and the only thing I can think of is the tooth.
00:07:43.920 --> 00:08:25.120
So if the tooth goes through epithelial tissue in the mouth and buried in the jawbone, which is basically sterile, if it didn't have a variety of protective methods, the bacteria in the mouth, which are low, do we have over 700 species of bacteria in the mouth, maybe 200 or 300 species in dental plague, but 700 species, that bacteria could literally slide down that tooth like a sliding board, it's slip and it's slick and it's wet and it's dark, and it would go into the bone, it would necros the bone, we would lose our jawbone, and our species would never have evolved over 200 uh two and a half million years.
00:08:25.279 --> 00:08:26.879
So that didn't happen.
00:08:26.959 --> 00:08:27.759
Why didn't it happen?
00:08:27.839 --> 00:08:34.080
Well, there are a lot of structures under the gum in the periodontal ligament, in the bone, through the immune system to prevent that.
00:08:34.240 --> 00:08:41.440
But the superficial healthy biofilm that's the first line of defense is the dental plaque.
00:08:41.519 --> 00:08:45.039
And the dental plaque, like I said, is made up of two or three hundred bacteria.
00:08:45.360 --> 00:08:51.120
Individual bacteria in that dental plaque is extremely pathogenic if it overgrew.
00:08:51.279 --> 00:09:07.440
But if it's not overgrowing and it's in a state of balance, it provides a variety of beneficial purposes, one of which is the family of the bacteria produce hydrogen peroxide, which is a natural killer of microbes.
00:09:07.679 --> 00:09:19.039
And when a microbe wants to get into the space between the gum and the tooth and slide down that tooth, it can't do that because the peroxide in the dental plaque, healthy dental plaque, kills it.
00:09:19.200 --> 00:09:26.159
It also, the dental plaque also has chemical buffers to actually maintain a pH of 5.5.
00:09:26.399 --> 00:09:36.320
And as most biological dentists know, you really can't get tooth decay unless the pH drops to a more acidic level over a period of time.
00:09:36.559 --> 00:09:38.879
So it you'll develop the mineralization.
00:09:39.039 --> 00:09:44.159
So the dental plaque buffers that pH, so it stays above 5.5.
00:09:44.240 --> 00:09:52.799
And additionally, it acts as a gatekeeper to allow nutrients going into the root structure to remineralize it as necessary.
00:09:53.039 --> 00:09:56.720
The nutrients are not in a mouthwash, not in toothpaste.
00:09:56.879 --> 00:09:58.799
The nutrients come from the saliva.
00:09:58.960 --> 00:10:09.120
So the nutrients you eat get into the blood, eventually deposit into the salivary glands, and it's pouring into the mouth 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
00:10:09.279 --> 00:10:15.039
So if you swish your mouth with a few nutrients for 10 seconds, it doesn't get into the root surface.
00:10:15.200 --> 00:10:18.159
So these mineralizing toothpaste are a joke.
00:10:18.320 --> 00:10:24.480
And mineralizing products that are supplements that you just rinse with are a joke.
00:10:24.639 --> 00:10:27.679
So dental plaque is healthy until it is not healthy.
00:10:27.759 --> 00:10:28.799
And here's another myth.
00:10:28.960 --> 00:10:31.919
How does dental plaque get unhealthy?
00:10:32.159 --> 00:10:35.039
It's not because you're not brushing or flossing correctly.
00:10:35.200 --> 00:10:39.679
Maybe, but for the most part, it's not because you're brushing or flossing incorrectly.
00:10:40.000 --> 00:10:46.639
It's because you have something going on in your gut that's called gut dysbiosis.
00:10:46.720 --> 00:10:48.720
It's an imbalance of bacteria.
00:10:49.039 --> 00:10:51.919
Pathological species are overgrowing.
00:10:52.080 --> 00:10:56.240
You don't have enough variety of bacteria to keep them at bay.
00:10:56.399 --> 00:11:01.039
And when they start to do that, it creates inflammation in the gut.
00:11:01.360 --> 00:11:04.559
It causes the immune system to overreact.
00:11:04.879 --> 00:11:20.240
It causes the one cell lining of the gut to become more permeable, and the junk leaks out of the gut into the bloodstream, which is called a leaky gut, and that affects every organ system in the body, including the mouth.
00:11:20.480 --> 00:11:24.559
And that dysfunctional immune system now can't fight the fight.
00:11:24.799 --> 00:11:30.799
And the bacteria in the mouth allow the potentially pathogenic bacteria to overgrow.
00:11:30.960 --> 00:11:51.919
And when people are eating bad foods like sugars, grains, a variety of other seed oils that are very disruptive, that will actually cause the pathogenic bacteria to overgrow, become unhealthy dental plaque, and now you have two nitises of infection: one in the gut, one in the mouth.
00:11:52.080 --> 00:11:56.639
Unfortunately, many biological dentists don't get it.
00:11:56.960 --> 00:12:01.039
They believe that the mouth is loaded with bacteria and we have to kill it.
00:12:01.200 --> 00:12:08.480
So they use chemicals like antimicrobial toothpaste, antimicrobial mouthwashes every day.
00:12:08.720 --> 00:12:12.799
They use xylitol that destroys the formation of the plaque.
00:12:12.879 --> 00:12:18.080
So it completely removes that superficial biofilm that's a protective biofilm.
00:12:18.240 --> 00:12:24.399
And they're destroying the mouth microbiome thinking they've stopped disease, but they never treated the gut.
00:12:24.480 --> 00:12:28.159
And even though the mouth becomes sterile, you have all the problems.
00:12:28.320 --> 00:12:38.000
Like, for example, if you had a house that was on fire and the fire trucks came and they were trying to put out the fire, but you had a gas leak in the garage, the fire doesn't go out.
00:12:38.159 --> 00:12:43.120
You have to stop the stoking of the fire as well as the manifestation of the fire.
00:12:43.279 --> 00:12:50.799
So if you put the fire out in the mouth and you never put the fire out from its originating place, the gut, you'll never get healing.
00:12:50.960 --> 00:12:57.360
But in other situations, functional medicine guys that have no idea about dentistry, they want to put the fire out in the gut.
00:12:57.600 --> 00:13:01.279
They have no idea that the mouth is a significant factor.
00:13:01.440 --> 00:13:15.279
And the problem is we have situations in the mouth, iatrogenic dentistry, bad composite restorations that are leaking, they are encouraging a localized infection.
00:13:15.360 --> 00:13:20.399
So you have this localized infection that could start in the mouth and the infection in the gut.
00:13:20.559 --> 00:13:24.799
And if you only put out one and not the other, you never get complete healing.
00:13:24.879 --> 00:13:27.919
So you have to street the gut and the mouth appropriately.
00:13:28.159 --> 00:13:30.080
So those are two huge myths.
00:13:30.320 --> 00:13:35.440
And you know what the crazy thing is common sense, but it's not always common practice, right?
00:13:36.000 --> 00:13:44.559
But it's not common sense because we have been taught this theory that germs are bad and we have to kill them.
00:13:44.799 --> 00:13:46.799
And if it's a germ, we have to kill.
00:13:47.039 --> 00:13:52.720
It's almost like thinking, I'm gonna take a tablet of penicillin every day to make sure my gut is healthy.
00:13:52.879 --> 00:13:54.080
Well, you're gonna kill everything.
00:13:54.240 --> 00:14:03.200
And that's what happens when you use antimicrobial mouthwashes, xylitol, antimicrobial toothpaste, even on the rest of your body.
00:14:03.440 --> 00:14:07.200
We have a microbiome, which is very interesting everywhere in our body.
00:14:07.360 --> 00:14:14.480
We have about 38 trillion microbial cells and only 30 trillion human cells.
00:14:14.559 --> 00:14:19.200
You are more microbial than human cell.
00:14:19.600 --> 00:14:20.879
That's pretty interesting.
00:14:21.120 --> 00:14:38.720
We have to respect that biofilm and the gut microbiome because actually that keeps us alive and supports the immune system, which is our only defense for invaders from the outside coming in, as well as even cancer cells that start up in the body.
00:14:38.879 --> 00:14:48.480
Everybody has cancer cells that are produced 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but they know the cancer cells know how to kill themselves off by a process called apoptosis.
00:14:48.639 --> 00:14:58.639
And they also can be eaten up by part of the innate immune system that gobbles these cancer cells so that they don't multiply and become malignant.
00:14:58.799 --> 00:15:10.399
If that immune system isn't working properly because of gut dysbiosis, then you can develop cancer and other chronic diseases.
00:15:10.559 --> 00:15:16.000
And this is why it is so critical to make sure both are being treated correctly.
00:15:16.320 --> 00:15:26.879
And I know every dentist, not just biological or wellness dentists, they notice that if you have siblings from the same family, and one sibling would floss and brush and do everything, right?
00:15:27.039 --> 00:15:36.159
And then have end up with a loss of cavity, and the other sibling don't do this as much, but they don't have a lot of cavity, and they're always thinking, well, this must be the flossing, the brushing, but it's not true.
00:15:36.320 --> 00:15:38.000
The parents even notice that, right?
00:15:38.240 --> 00:15:51.279
So those parents probably come into the office drinking Gatorade and munching on some kind of sugary candy, and yet they have no idea what they're doing to their children when they're feeding these terrible foods.
00:15:51.360 --> 00:15:55.519
So they're destroying the gut, they're feeding the pathogenic bacteria in the mouth.
00:15:55.600 --> 00:16:01.200
And unfortunately, once that infection is in the mouth, it spreads to everything else in the body.
00:16:01.279 --> 00:16:05.279
And it doesn't just spread because of dental plaque.
00:16:05.440 --> 00:16:14.799
The infection spreads in the bone through nerve canals, through lymph tissue, through capillaries that get into the blood directly.
00:16:14.960 --> 00:16:21.279
All of that contributes to the spread of infection systemically and it gets into other organ systems.
00:16:21.440 --> 00:16:34.960
But we always have to be aware that the gut is the initiator of this chronic systemic inflammation, and the mouth is just part of the pathway as it disseminates through the body.
00:16:35.200 --> 00:16:40.639
Fortunately, dentists are so lucky that they have a platform.
00:16:40.799 --> 00:16:46.639
They see patients for an extended period of time, hygienists see patients for an extended period of time.
00:16:46.799 --> 00:16:53.919
They can look at the mouth, they at least understand that the mouth may be a mirror to the rest of the body, and they can identify disease.
00:16:54.080 --> 00:17:01.519
The problem is when they see disease, they think, for the most part, it started in the mouth, but really it started in the gut.
00:17:01.679 --> 00:17:07.119
So treat the gut, absolutely treat the mouth correctly, and you can prevent chronic disease.
00:17:07.279 --> 00:17:29.839
And I would say many or all cancers, because cancer and most chronic diseases are diseases of metabolic dysfunction, not eating well and absorbing the nutrients that are there and anti-nutrients that get interfere with the nutrient absorption, and that what's called mitochondrial dysfunction, where the energy of the cells are actually weakened.
00:17:29.920 --> 00:17:46.000
It's almost like having 38 trillion flashlights and 38 trillion batteries in these flashlights, and you turn all these lights on, and all of a sudden the batteries are weakening and the cells don't do what they're supposed to do.
00:17:46.160 --> 00:18:00.880
And if the mitochondria in our cells start to break down, they can function only halfway and eventually they don't function well at all, and we have significant dysfunction in different organ systems.
00:18:01.119 --> 00:18:02.640
So all of that is very important.
00:18:02.960 --> 00:18:10.799
What I hear from you over and over, and I think a lot of people don't really think about it, is we all have cancer cells in us.
00:18:10.960 --> 00:18:11.279
Yes.
00:18:11.519 --> 00:18:17.119
So we should not wait for that cancer diagnosis and say, oh my gosh, I have to change my diet, I have to do something.
00:18:17.279 --> 00:18:17.920
You shouldn't have to do that.
00:18:18.079 --> 00:18:20.960
So let me let me interrupt you and tell you something interesting.
00:18:21.279 --> 00:18:21.440
Yes.
00:18:21.680 --> 00:18:28.720
So I'm kind of geeky and I do a lot of research, and I when I got diagnosed, I needed to figure out well, why do I have cancer?
00:18:28.799 --> 00:18:33.200
I for the first six, the last six years before I was diagnosed, I was extremely healthy.
00:18:33.359 --> 00:18:35.039
So how can I get cancer?
00:18:35.279 --> 00:18:36.160
That's crazy.
00:18:36.319 --> 00:18:40.799
And an incurable cancer that's going to give me only three to six months to live.
00:18:40.960 --> 00:18:42.079
I mean, that's crazy.
00:18:42.240 --> 00:18:50.400
So when I did a little digging, I found an article that was actually published by some Brazilian researchers.
00:18:50.640 --> 00:18:52.480
And here's what they were studying.
00:18:52.640 --> 00:19:08.960
They were studying dentists in my cohort, basically the age of 65 to 75, male dentists age 65 to 75, compared to a general male cohort that was not dentists, and you know, general male population.
00:19:09.200 --> 00:19:20.079
Turns out that their research showed that male dentists in my age group had a high prevalence of bone marrow cancer, especially multiple myeloma.
00:19:20.480 --> 00:19:26.000
Now it was observational, didn't tell you why this happened, it just said it happened.
00:19:26.160 --> 00:19:29.359
So I'm digging into my thought process.
00:19:29.599 --> 00:19:32.319
So I was, you know, I've been a periodonist for 44 years.
00:19:32.400 --> 00:19:35.119
I got out of dental school in 72, my God.
00:19:35.279 --> 00:19:37.599
So it was a long time ago.
00:19:38.000 --> 00:19:46.640
And what happened in my four years of dental training and two years as a graduate student in periodionics that was different from the male population in general?
00:19:46.880 --> 00:19:48.880
Well, two specific things.
00:19:49.119 --> 00:19:55.759
I was exposed, like every dentist, to ionizing, low-dose ionizing radiation, which are dental x-rays.
00:19:56.079 --> 00:19:57.599
Now, it was every day.
00:19:57.759 --> 00:20:00.480
I don't even remember wearing badges in those days.
00:20:00.640 --> 00:20:12.559
So in those days, I was exposed to this radiation, and it has been proven that that radiation, plasma cells in the matter are very sensitive that to low-dose ionizing radiation.
00:20:12.960 --> 00:20:14.640
I think that was part of it.
00:20:14.799 --> 00:20:24.559
The second part is that in those days, even today in dental school now, unfortunately, you learn and you have to know how to place mercury filling.
00:20:24.640 --> 00:20:30.079
So we play in those days, we played with mercury in our hands, like kids play with play-doh.
00:20:30.400 --> 00:20:35.759
This funny semi-liquid metal in your hands is beautiful, funny stuff.
00:20:35.839 --> 00:20:43.599
And if you throw it on the floor, the little beads scatter and eventually they disappear because they actually evaporate into the environment.
00:20:43.839 --> 00:20:47.359
Every dental school in the United States did the same kind of thing.
00:20:47.519 --> 00:20:54.160
That was probably the most toxic structure building in the country, all dental schools.
00:20:54.319 --> 00:21:01.119
So when we were playing and doing this stuff with free mercury, free mercury is highly toxic.
00:21:01.279 --> 00:21:03.920
I'm sure I had an overdose of that.
00:21:04.000 --> 00:21:22.240
So the mercury and the low dose radiation probably made one plasma cell of the trillions that were there, one plasma cell become malignant, got cancer, it didn't kill itself off, the immune system didn't gobble it up, and it started to grow and multiply.
00:21:22.319 --> 00:21:32.480
And by the time I was older, even though I was eating healthier, eventually it manifested to what happened to me in 2018.
00:21:32.880 --> 00:21:43.759
In an effort of being, you know, biological, holistic, wellness dentist, we not only protecting ourselves by doing mercury free, mercury safe, but we're helping so many other patients.
00:21:44.160 --> 00:21:44.960
Absolutely.
00:21:45.200 --> 00:21:46.960
Absolutely, absolutely.
00:21:47.279 --> 00:21:47.599
Yeah.
00:21:47.839 --> 00:21:48.799
I totally hear you.
00:21:48.960 --> 00:21:53.759
And I think that those are very great investigation because we observing a lot of that.
00:21:53.839 --> 00:21:57.359
Our professor, our mentor, all have health and they're very healthy.
00:21:57.440 --> 00:22:02.640
They eat healthy, they maintain a healthy Lifestyle and they still end up with that diagnosis.
00:22:02.880 --> 00:22:10.799
So now a lot of females, especially in my age group, where we childbearing age, we could not figure out why we could not get pregnant.
00:22:10.880 --> 00:22:12.960
And the first thing they asked was, like, you're a dentist?
00:22:13.039 --> 00:22:15.680
Okay, let's test you for heavy metal toxicity.
00:22:15.839 --> 00:22:17.759
And we never heard of that in dental school.
00:22:17.920 --> 00:22:19.200
So of course, of course.
00:22:19.359 --> 00:22:21.440
You don't even hear about it today, which is sad.
00:22:21.759 --> 00:22:22.000
Yeah.
00:22:22.240 --> 00:22:24.799
But thank God the FDA ruling that you know last up.
00:22:25.359 --> 00:22:26.799
Yeah, finally they got around to it.
00:22:26.880 --> 00:22:33.039
But they only they only made a little bit of a concession for pregnant people and young young kids, unfortunately.
00:22:33.279 --> 00:22:33.519
Yeah.
00:22:33.680 --> 00:22:35.440
Well, it's still a progress for us.
00:22:35.839 --> 00:22:36.480
Yes, of course.
00:22:37.119 --> 00:22:37.920
One step at a time.
00:22:38.079 --> 00:22:38.960
One step at a time.
00:22:39.119 --> 00:22:39.519
Right, right.
00:22:39.759 --> 00:22:47.039
Yeah, we understand there's a lot of patients looking for biological dentists to have those mercury restoration removed safely.
00:22:47.200 --> 00:22:49.519
So I know that the public is fully aware of it.
00:22:49.680 --> 00:22:55.680
We just need more dentists to be on board to protect themselves, their team, and then of course their patients.
00:22:55.759 --> 00:22:57.200
So yes, I agree.
00:22:57.440 --> 00:22:57.759
Yes.
00:22:57.920 --> 00:23:02.079
I love I every time I listen to your talk and your lecture, I love that.
00:23:02.240 --> 00:23:05.839
It's the passion, it's the knowledge, and it's the common sense that not very common.
00:23:06.000 --> 00:23:15.440
So I have one question for you that what is one thing, and you're known for biological nutrition, and you train so many biological dentists out there on the topic of nutrition.
00:23:15.680 --> 00:23:21.680
What is one thing about nutrition that no one agrees with you about?
00:23:22.000 --> 00:23:23.279
Absolutely.
00:23:23.759 --> 00:23:48.720
An animal-based diet, not necessarily 100%, but an animal-based diet, at least 70%, meaning that you're eating nose-to-tail, rudiment animals, basically beef and lamb, that are grazed on pastures that are grass and not GMAO or glyphosate or any other chemicals, totally organic.
00:23:49.440 --> 00:23:52.799
That is the healthiest diet.
00:23:53.279 --> 00:23:57.279
We can prove it over two and a half million years of evolution.
00:23:57.440 --> 00:24:01.119
I can have give you studies that prove it.
00:24:01.279 --> 00:24:09.119
And it is the healthiest diet compared to a vegan diet, a vegetarian diet, plant-based diets.
00:24:09.359 --> 00:24:44.400
Because an animal-based diet, 70%, maybe 30% plants that don't include plants that have what's called antinutrients, which are phytates, basically, oxalates and lectins, which not only bind to minerals and vitamins so it doesn't even get absorbed, but it also damages the gut microbiome, puts holes in the epithelial barrier, creating a leaky gut, and it interferes with the mitochondrial production of ATP, which is our energy source of every cell, and we are energy creatures, we are electrical beings.
00:24:44.640 --> 00:24:53.920
If we eat those kinds of foods, even though they theoretically have nutrients, they're not getting absorbed properly and they are damaging our gut.
00:24:54.160 --> 00:24:58.720
And most people, most people who think they're eating a healthy diet are not.
00:24:59.039 --> 00:25:06.000
So I would tell you, most people disagree with me until they understand the research.
00:25:06.160 --> 00:25:19.920
And the sad thing is that the research that's quoted, like red meat causes cancer or animal fat is unhealthy, are flawed because the structure of the testing is incorrect.
00:25:20.160 --> 00:25:24.720
The kind of meats they're using are processed and they have loaded with they're loaded with chemicals.
00:25:24.799 --> 00:25:26.160
That's what's causing the problem.
00:25:26.400 --> 00:25:31.920
Glyphosate in the feed that is being fed the animals is definitely the fat A factor.
00:25:32.400 --> 00:25:36.720
Eating grains, animals eating grains cause them to get sick.
00:25:36.799 --> 00:25:42.000
They need to be on antibiotics and hormones to fatten them up so they get slaughtered before they die.
00:25:42.240 --> 00:25:48.720
All these chemicals get into our body, and those are the animals that are being tested to say, well, they cause cancer.
00:25:48.880 --> 00:25:52.000
Well, yeah, they cause all kinds of chronic disease and anything.
00:25:52.319 --> 00:25:58.960
So when you look at animal-based foods that are pastured, grass-fed, grass-finished, extremely healthy.
00:25:59.039 --> 00:25:59.920
We need the nutrients.
00:26:00.000 --> 00:26:20.480
And I will also tell you every nutrient that your body needs, with maybe one or two exceptions, is in that animal meat, animal fat, bone, cartilage organs, and you don't have to take, you do not have to take synthetic zinc, synthetic melatonin, synthetic vitamin C.
00:26:20.799 --> 00:26:25.119
Vitamin C is loaded in the organs and it's a different vitamin C.
00:26:25.359 --> 00:26:26.640
It's heat stable.
00:26:26.880 --> 00:26:29.599
Vitamin C from oranges is not heat stable.
00:26:29.759 --> 00:26:38.160
There are a lot of factors that if you eat animal-based foods, you'll never have to take a supplement from a supplement company again.
00:26:39.039 --> 00:26:45.279
That everybody almost disagrees with, unless they see and understand the research.
00:26:45.599 --> 00:26:46.160
That's right.
00:26:46.240 --> 00:26:46.480
Yeah.
00:26:46.640 --> 00:26:47.119
The same thing.
00:26:47.519 --> 00:26:51.279
And it saved my life, and that's why I am where I am today.
00:26:51.599 --> 00:26:54.240
You're a living testimonial for that, obviously.
00:26:54.319 --> 00:27:03.680
And that's one of the things people always listen to just the headline, oh, red meat causing cancer, red meat causing heart attack, cholesterol, right?
00:27:03.920 --> 00:27:08.960
And we know it's inflammation that causing cardiovascular disease, not fat.
00:27:09.599 --> 00:27:11.839
We need good fat for our brain.
00:27:12.319 --> 00:27:13.599
That's absolutely correct.
00:27:13.759 --> 00:27:22.079
And and when you start to connect the dots, you see that, but people don't want to take the time to do a little research, and it's not being taught in medical or dental schools at all.
00:27:22.400 --> 00:27:22.720
I know.
00:27:22.880 --> 00:27:26.559
I wish we had biological nutrition, is one of our cores in dental school.
00:27:26.640 --> 00:27:29.920
And a lot of our medical uh colleagues would appreciate that too.
00:27:30.079 --> 00:27:39.359
Because we're all informations and relying on supplements and prescriptions versus food is yes, food is medicine.
00:27:39.599 --> 00:27:41.839
Somebody said that a long time ago.
00:27:43.359 --> 00:27:44.160
Absolutely.
00:27:44.400 --> 00:27:44.720
Dr.
00:27:44.880 --> 00:27:49.680
Al, I can tell our listener really, really eager to connect with you.
00:27:49.759 --> 00:27:52.799
So can you tell us how listener can find you and connect with you?
00:27:53.200 --> 00:27:53.440
Sure.
00:27:53.519 --> 00:27:55.680
My website is drdanenberg.com.
00:27:55.759 --> 00:28:00.160
So it would be spelled D-R D A N E N B E R G dot com.
00:28:00.319 --> 00:28:02.480
There's so much information you can download.
00:28:02.559 --> 00:28:03.440
It's all free.
00:28:03.680 --> 00:28:10.559
I do offer a 12-week coaching program called my 12-week balanced metabolic coaching program, where I teach all this.
00:28:10.720 --> 00:28:14.799
And interestingly, because of everything that I've been doing, I've developed a platform.
00:28:14.880 --> 00:28:19.920
I'm doing consultations all over the world now, which is quite exciting.
00:28:20.000 --> 00:28:22.400
And on my website, there's information about that.
00:28:22.559 --> 00:28:28.960
So I also list my unconventional cancer protocols in detail for a download.
00:28:29.039 --> 00:28:38.079
It's only two pages long, but everything I am doing, and I update it constantly with links to what I'm doing, what I'm eating, why I'm doing what I'm doing.
00:28:38.160 --> 00:28:40.240
All 10 protocols are right there.
00:28:40.319 --> 00:28:41.839
So you could take a look at that.
00:28:42.160 --> 00:28:42.799
That's awesome.
00:28:42.880 --> 00:28:50.960
And you have a lot of research article for anyone that really wants to read more about where the science comes from and where you get that protocol.
00:28:51.039 --> 00:28:56.079
So all my articles do cite peer-reviewed medical journals to support what I'm saying.
00:28:56.720 --> 00:28:58.400
If it's anecdotal, I'll tell you that.
00:28:58.480 --> 00:29:08.000
But if it is based on factual information that I've garnered throughout the medical world, basically through PubMed, internationally, it's cited right there.
00:29:08.079 --> 00:29:10.640
You can always link to that and see the actual articles.
00:29:10.960 --> 00:29:11.279
Yeah.
00:29:11.519 --> 00:29:19.359
On behalf of a lot of our biological wellness dentists, want to thank you because I know you're helping a lot of patients all over the world is so impactful.
00:29:19.519 --> 00:29:29.039
But when you're helping another fellow biological dentist to understand nutrition, the impact is even more because they're helping their patient, their team.
00:29:29.200 --> 00:29:38.480
And I can tell that when we are going through the training with our team and with a lot of our doctors, it's really eye-opening for them about nutrition and look at that a different way.
00:29:38.640 --> 00:29:45.119
And now our conversation with our patients are very powerful too, because they look at us like, wow, you understand so much deeper about.
00:29:45.599 --> 00:29:49.440
Well, let me just say, you're never too old to learn a new trick.
00:29:50.000 --> 00:29:54.720
You know, so dog, you know, old dogs can learn new tricks, which I've proven myself.
00:29:54.960 --> 00:29:57.599
And you're never too sick to make it better.
00:29:57.759 --> 00:30:04.079
I don't know anybody that has been through what I've been through at hospice, the edge of death and coming back.
00:30:04.319 --> 00:30:07.599
I can tell you theoretically, I should not be here.
00:30:07.759 --> 00:30:10.799
There's always something you can do to make life better.
00:30:11.119 --> 00:30:18.000
Even if it is imminent that you're going to die, you can still improve the quality of life for whatever time you have.
00:30:18.240 --> 00:30:30.880
And the way to do that, attitude is a lot, and a support group is a lot, but also you have to make your body's immune system as robust as possible.
00:30:31.039 --> 00:30:36.000
It's the only armed forces your body has to protect its borders.
00:30:36.160 --> 00:30:41.200
Just like our borders in the United States, we have to have a solid army.
00:30:41.440 --> 00:30:48.319
We need to have that solid internal army to protect us from the outside invaders as well as inside invaders.
00:30:48.640 --> 00:30:49.359
And we can do it.
00:30:49.599 --> 00:30:50.240
Yes, Dr.
00:30:50.400 --> 00:30:51.279
Al, thank you so much.
00:30:51.359 --> 00:30:52.319
And you hear it from Dr.
00:30:52.400 --> 00:30:52.559
Al.
00:30:52.720 --> 00:30:56.799
You're never too old to learn new tricks, and you're never too sick to get better.
00:30:57.039 --> 00:31:05.920

Bye everyone.
00:31:12.480 --> 00:31:12.960
Thank you.
00:31:13.200 --> 00:31:13.839
Thank you, Dr.
00:31:14.079 --> 00:31:14.240
Al.
