Authority that Changes Everything

This sermon from Mark 5:21-43 explores Jesus' authority through two interconnected stories - Jairus seeking healing for his dying daughter and a woman with a 12-year bleeding condition. Both individuals come desperately to Jesus' feet, representing different aspects of faith and need. The woman touches Jesus' garment and is healed, but Jesus calls her out not to shame her but to give her a new identity as 'daughter.' Meanwhile, Jairus receives news that his daughter has died, but Jesus tells him 'don't be afraid, just believe' and ultimately raises the girl from the dead. The sermon emphasizes that Jesus' authority is personal (He calls us by name and gives us identity), sovereign (He works according to His perfect timing), and supreme (He has power over death itself). The message challenges believers to surrender their hidden struggles, trust God's timing even in delays, and allow His voice to speak louder than fear.
