WEBVTT
00:00:02.774 -->
00:00:09.119Well, hello, my valued listeners, and welcome back to another episode of Living in Your Power.
00:00:10.071 -->
00:00:17.087I'm your host, Dr. Marlene Greenleaf, and as always, I am truly grateful that
00:00:17.087 -->
00:00:19.782you have chosen to spend this time with me today.
00:00:21.019 -->
00:00:28.113As we close out our June theme, Freedom to Flourish, Growing into What God Has Planned,
00:00:29.053 -->
00:00:35.787We've spent this month reflecting on being planted with purpose Embracing pruning,
00:00:37.075 -->
00:00:42.898Blooming where we are And trusting God when growth feels slow,
00:00:44.413 -->
00:00:45.115And today,
00:00:45.905 -->
00:00:52.437we bring it all together Today's episode, the fifth and final episode in our
00:00:52.437 -->
00:00:58.049Tune series Is titled, Flourishing in Every Season,
00:01:00.404 -->
00:01:01.437So let's dive in.
00:01:03.818 -->
00:01:08.155When we hear the word flourish, I mean, many of us picture success.
00:01:09.374 -->
00:01:15.077I mean, we picture abundance, we picture achievement, we picture a season where
00:01:15.077 -->
00:01:17.269everything is finally working out.
00:01:18.824 -->
00:01:21.408But what if flourishing is deeper than that?
00:01:23.062 -->
00:01:26.940What if flourishing is not determined by circumstances?
00:01:28.501 -->
00:01:34.022What if flourishing is not dependent upon having everything go according to plan?
00:01:36.315 -->
00:01:40.970Because if we are honest, life doesn't work that way. No, sir.
00:01:42.201 -->
00:01:46.119There will always be seasons of joy and seasons of challenge.
00:01:46.584 -->
00:01:50.409Seasons of clarity and seasons of uncertainty.
00:01:50.903 -->
00:01:53.561Seasons of growth and seasons of waiting.
00:01:54.838 -->
00:02:02.099Yet, God never intended for our peace, our purpose, or our sense of fulfillment
00:02:02.395 -->
00:02:05.826to be dependent on perfect conditions.
00:02:07.237 -->
00:02:15.044True flourishing begins on the inside, long before it becomes visible to the outside.
00:02:19.096 -->
00:02:25.704Now the scripture on Psalms 92, 12 verses 12 through 14 says,
00:02:25.704 -->
00:02:29.435The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.
00:02:30.056 -->
00:02:33.133He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
00:02:33.899 -->
00:02:40.691Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our gods.
00:02:41.399 -->
00:02:47.506They shall still bring forth fruit in old age. They shall be fat and flourishing.
00:02:49.898 -->
00:02:58.585I love the imagery of this passage. The palm trees bend, but they do not break.
00:02:58.893 -->
00:03:04.361The cedar grows strong, but it does not bend.
00:03:06.039 -->
00:03:10.068It stays strong and is deeply rooted. And those who remain planted,
00:03:10.613 -->
00:03:12.111they continue to be a fruit.
00:03:14.102 -->
00:03:22.258Now notice what the scripture does not say. It does not say that flourish only when life is easy.
00:03:23.326 -->
00:03:27.413It does not say they flourish only when conditions are favorable.
00:03:28.429 -->
00:03:33.955It says, in fact, that they flourish because they are planted.
00:03:34.919 -->
00:03:38.889Their flourishing is connected to their foundation.
00:03:39.946 -->
00:03:43.353And that is a powerful reminder for all of us.
00:03:46.500 -->
00:03:50.975If I reflect on this month, I see a beautiful progression.
00:03:53.441 -->
00:03:53.929First.
00:03:57.407 -->
00:04:03.931We learn that we are planted with purpose. Then, we explore the reality of pruning,
00:04:05.121 -->
00:04:06.526and making room for growth.
00:04:08.087 -->
00:04:15.553We learn to bloom where we were instead of positioning our lives while waiting for a future season.
00:04:16.957 -->
00:04:22.118And last week, we talked about trusting the process when growth feels slow.
00:04:23.691 -->
00:04:29.206Now, every one of these lessons point us towards the same truth, yellow says.
00:04:31.151 -->
00:04:37.884And that is that flourishing is not an event. It is a way of living.
00:04:38.941 -->
00:04:43.683It is choosing to remain rooted, choosing to remain faithful,
00:04:44.746 -->
00:04:47.933and choosing to trust God in every season.
00:04:48.600 -->
00:04:53.295Not because everything is perfect, but because He is perfect.
00:04:54.468 -->
00:05:02.218And when we remain connected to the source, growth continues even when we cannot see it.
00:05:05.741 -->
00:05:12.916So let's return to that beautiful promise. It says, the righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.
00:05:15.099 -->
00:05:19.025A tree does not wake up one morning and suddenly become strong, jealous, no.
00:05:19.445 -->
00:05:27.173In fact, its strength develops over time, season by season, root by root, year by year.
00:05:28.090 -->
00:05:30.366And the same is true for us.
00:05:32.438 -->
00:05:39.126So, as we close this month I want you again to take a few moments To reflect on these,
00:05:41.384 -->
00:05:47.115What has God been growing in me During this season? Where have I seen evidence
00:05:47.115 -->
00:05:49.232of growth That I may have overlooked?
00:05:50.560 -->
00:05:53.138And what does flourishing mean to me today?
00:05:54.711 -->
00:05:59.964How can I remain rooted Regardless of the season I'm experiencing?
00:06:02.275 -->
00:06:04.614And as always I'll repeat those prompts for you,
00:06:06.669 -->
00:06:12.515for your reflection for this week I want you to ask these questions what has
00:06:12.515 -->
00:06:16.369God been growing in me during this season,
00:06:18.651 -->
00:06:23.562where have I seen evidence of growth that I may have overlooked,
00:06:25.477 -->
00:06:32.945what does flourishing mean to me today And how can I remain rooted regardless
00:06:32.945 -->
00:06:35.079of the season I'm experiencing?
00:06:37.407 -->
00:06:43.734I want you to remember that flourishing is not about perfection. It's about connection.
00:06:47.344 -->
00:06:52.618So in closing today, dear listeners, as we close out this June series,
00:06:52.908 -->
00:06:54.081I want to leave you with this.
00:06:56.281 -->
00:07:01.041You do not have to wait for perfect circumstances to flourish.
00:07:02.620 -->
00:07:06.539You do not have to wait for every prayer to be answered.
00:07:08.402 -->
00:07:11.833You do not have to wait until you feel completely ready.
00:07:13.621 -->
00:07:17.623You can flourish right here right
00:07:17.623 -->
00:07:23.536now because flourishing is not found in having everything figured out,
00:07:24.673 -->
00:07:30.153it is found in remaining brooded in the one who sustains us.
00:07:33.237 -->
00:07:38.147I want to thank you for joining me throughout this month's journey on Freedom
00:07:38.147 -->
00:07:42.414to Flourish, Growing into what God has Planted.
00:07:44.284 -->
00:07:48.183I hope these conversations have encouraged you to trust the process,
00:07:49.315 -->
00:07:54.720embrace your season, and continue growing into all that God has planted within you.
00:07:57.100 -->
00:08:04.431I know it certainly has for me These words that I say each and every week,
00:08:05.529 -->
00:08:09.427They are encouragement for me also, not just for you So again,
00:08:09.427 -->
00:08:14.730I hope these conversations have encouraged you To trust the process,

00:08:23.733 -->
00:08:32.388so continue to live boldly in your power today and if it gets tough just breathe,
00:08:35.111 -->
00:08:43.477you still got the strength to rise so until next time when I see you when you
00:08:43.477 -->
00:08:49.152hear me continue to live in your power,
00:08:50.557 -->
00:08:51.549and remember,
00:08:53.488 -->
00:08:59.641to continue growing into all that God has planted within you.
