00:00:08.712 --> 00:00:11.121
Welcome to Willpower Podcast Guys.
00:00:11.121 --> 00:00:14.471
We're here to free you up with today's very special guest.
00:00:14.471 --> 00:00:16.246
We're going to be talking to Brian Wright.
00:00:16.246 --> 00:00:19.149
He is a leader's leader's leader.
00:00:19.149 --> 00:00:20.285
He's a physical therapist.
00:00:20.285 --> 00:00:29.521
He has Wright Physical Therapy in Idaho, which is a massive company I don't even know how many locations he has at this point and the crazy thing is that's not the only business he does.
00:00:29.521 --> 00:00:35.332
He is helping tons of other PTs start their own practices in addition to an EMR.
00:00:36.020 --> 00:00:42.543
And so, listen, this is one of those few 1% people we get to spend some time with today to really dive deep into mindset.
00:00:42.543 --> 00:00:46.381
Today we're going to change how we think in a completely new way.
00:00:46.381 --> 00:00:53.572
We're going to show you how to think from a place of abundance so that you can pull these wonderful things in your life into your world.
00:00:53.572 --> 00:01:05.168
He's literally going to show you the roadmap of how you can go from being stuck and busy all the time and super overwhelmed to free, and how you start all these companies and what that looks like.
00:01:05.168 --> 00:01:07.344
And that roadmap is so inspiring.
00:01:07.344 --> 00:01:08.909
I can't wait for you to listen.
00:01:08.909 --> 00:01:09.490
Enjoy the show.
00:01:09.490 --> 00:01:14.650
So, brian, you've got your hands in so many powerful things.
00:01:14.650 --> 00:01:15.673
You know leadership.
00:01:15.673 --> 00:01:24.048
I've said this last time you were on the show and I mean this for everyone who's tuning in, who may not have heard that I put you at the top of my best leaders list.
00:01:24.048 --> 00:01:31.367
In your case, how, how does the head and the heart translate into execution for you?
00:01:31.367 --> 00:01:34.492
And yeah, let's get into that space a little together.
00:01:34.879 --> 00:01:35.923
Just jump right in.
00:01:35.923 --> 00:01:38.588
Yeah Well, first of all, thank you.
00:01:38.588 --> 00:01:41.840
I mean, you always, always tug on my heartstrings as a leader.
00:01:41.840 --> 00:01:56.388
I look to you for all the things that I, um, I gained so much from meaning and purpose and you know those can be buzzwords for people, but I do when I think of head and heart, they work hand in hand, they do.
00:01:56.388 --> 00:02:12.117
They work so so well together that I think that for me, what's really and when I look back at anything I've ever done that been worthwhile, will I think that understanding that it's neither been just all heart, nor has it been just all head.
00:02:12.117 --> 00:02:30.887
It's got to be this kind of balance, and so this balance for me is when it's both working in tandem, as they should, and knowing when the head should not cross over into the heart space and when the heart should not cross over to the head space, and when you balance that with precision and skill set, that's when the magic happens.
00:02:31.360 --> 00:02:40.090
And so, yeah, it's interesting because I think most of us get real, like, step process oriented when we think about success and future growth as leaders.
00:02:40.090 --> 00:02:44.031
And this could be the leader who's just trying to improve their personal world.
00:02:44.031 --> 00:02:47.009
It could be the leader who owns a business, who's trying to grow their company.
00:02:47.009 --> 00:02:52.306
They think about, like, the five steps they need to take, but what you're saying is different than that.
00:02:52.306 --> 00:03:01.131
You're saying that like, yeah, steps are there and those are important steps, but you're saying mindset behind the steps is a lot more powerful than knowing what those steps are.
00:03:01.592 --> 00:03:05.388
Yeah, I really appreciate what you're saying there and it cues me to think through this.
00:03:05.388 --> 00:03:14.310
You might've heard this before, but vision without execution is what it's daydreaming and execution yeah, execution without vision is drudgery.
00:03:14.310 --> 00:03:16.473
And so what is it?
00:03:16.473 --> 00:03:21.472
When you put vision and execution together and I, I just would like to say it's magic.
00:03:21.472 --> 00:03:42.217
And magic sounds like something that people do not do in business, but when I've ever done the best parts of business, when it's been fun, when it's aligned with my lifestyle congruence, the things that I want out of my life, and it's not just again a set of mechanical things that have to be done, that's when it feels like magic.
00:03:42.217 --> 00:03:46.223
It literally feels like like things come together, even with problems.
00:03:46.223 --> 00:03:59.288
Problems are just a signal that we're doing the right things instead of just being the something that just like hits you in the chest and knocks you down, and that's really when we start talking about leadership in any space.
00:04:00.481 --> 00:04:01.826
You want to feel like it's magic.
00:04:01.826 --> 00:04:08.211
It's a litmus testing for me Will If you're really doing vision and execution in tandem.
00:04:08.211 --> 00:04:12.508
What I think it should feel like is it should feel like you're growing you yourself.
00:04:12.508 --> 00:04:17.127
The people around you are helping you develop just as much as you're helping them develop.
00:04:17.127 --> 00:04:18.565
There's this sort of ebb and flow.
00:04:18.565 --> 00:04:28.206
You don't feel de-energized, you feel energized, you feel like you could work into the wee hours of the night and you're good.
00:04:28.206 --> 00:04:28.747
That's what.
00:04:28.747 --> 00:04:34.488
What I mean by magic, like, how is it that some days I feel like I get to four o'clock and I just want to crash?
00:04:34.930 --> 00:04:40.850
yes and other days it goes to 11 12 o'clock and I just feel like, does this day have to end?
00:04:40.850 --> 00:04:43.223
I probably should go to bed, you know?
00:04:43.223 --> 00:04:43.545
And?
00:04:43.545 --> 00:04:48.543
And really the same kind of problems can occur in both types of days.
00:04:48.543 --> 00:04:58.752
What is it that activates that go till 12 o'clock with people and love every moment of it, versus go to four and just feel like, is this day over?
00:04:58.752 --> 00:04:59.942
Yet Interesting.
00:05:00.002 --> 00:05:07.812
It sounds like alignment is what you're saying, between the head and the heart is what helps you propel into those energy giving days versus the energy sucking days.
00:05:07.812 --> 00:05:16.435
It's interesting because I've heard that concept of a vision without execution being a dream, but I'd never heard the reverse.
00:05:16.435 --> 00:05:17.403
I'd never heard that till.
00:05:17.403 --> 00:05:21.401
You said that thing about execution without a vision is drudgery, and it's so.
00:05:21.401 --> 00:05:27.262
That to me, is what I identified the most with as an early entrepreneur, like for me in my medical practice.
00:05:27.262 --> 00:05:33.788
I was in this place of like, just you know, I think part of the problem was identified as the service I was giving.
00:05:33.788 --> 00:05:39.685
I'm a physical therapist, so like that's so and I loved it and I still love treating my family.
00:05:39.927 --> 00:05:56.232
I haven't treated a patient officially in over 10 years, but that back when I was stuck, it was a headspace, like what I'm here to do is treat patients, and so it was this vision of limitation I only wanted to treat without having to deal with headaches from my team.
00:05:56.232 --> 00:05:59.262
That was kind of where I lived and I and I.
00:05:59.262 --> 00:06:01.670
That was why most of my clients have been stuck.
00:06:01.670 --> 00:06:02.331
That I've seen.
00:06:02.331 --> 00:06:07.266
That's why most of us are stuck, because we don't understand what you just said about vision and execution.
00:06:07.266 --> 00:06:08.269
We're all good.
00:06:08.269 --> 00:06:12.071
We're all good at executing when we're passionate about something like in healthcare.
00:06:12.071 --> 00:06:15.615
But I think understanding how to like, expand the vision is my.
00:06:15.615 --> 00:06:21.232
It might be, in my opinion, where we're struggling a little bit, like in your journey what expanded your vision?
00:06:21.232 --> 00:06:25.983
And or like, how do you help people expand their vision outside of, like that drudgery stage?
00:06:26.625 --> 00:06:30.437
oh, wow, that's powerful, yeah, well, so a couple of thoughts.
00:06:30.437 --> 00:06:32.442
Number one is when you're in your head, you're dead.
00:06:32.442 --> 00:06:36.372
This is such a nice little mnemonic, right, but what does that even mean?
00:06:36.372 --> 00:06:43.471
Well, I'll answer your question first and then I'll get to my question second.
00:06:43.471 --> 00:06:48.225
Okay, so your question was like you know, how did I get to this thing where my vision would expand?
00:06:49.286 --> 00:07:00.644
One of the best words that I use inside of my mind or soul if I, if I need to really get out of a space where I feel constricted and I want to feel expansive, is trust.
00:07:00.644 --> 00:07:05.334
Now I have a deep belief that I was created for more than just this life.
00:07:05.334 --> 00:07:10.012
I just I believe that our creator created us with many faces of intention that are beautiful.
00:07:10.012 --> 00:07:14.168
A few that come to mind are he created me for beauty, right?
00:07:14.168 --> 00:07:29.163
Our creator created us for expansion, for unlimited abundance, for receptivity, and that's a key one, like receiving too, because sometimes you know, when I think about like, oh, I need to give, give, give.
00:07:29.584 --> 00:07:44.550
I think, when I realized that my creator created me for receptivity, that immediately when I get in the state of receiving, that immediately expands the vision, it's like, oh, why not bigger than what I was thinking, am I?
00:07:44.550 --> 00:07:48.341
Not even why, but what would be better than what I'm thinking now?
00:07:48.341 --> 00:07:50.911
What would be even more exciting, what would be even more fun?
00:07:50.911 --> 00:07:56.314
Perhaps some other things that I think of with regard to those faces of intention would be love.
00:07:56.314 --> 00:08:01.307
My creator created me for love, and I don't just mean loving other people.
00:08:01.307 --> 00:08:13.665
I mean, you know, some days you don't love everybody you come across, but there's still love inherent in the fact that I can honor the good inside of every single person, or or the magnificence I see in them.
00:08:14.266 --> 00:08:14.406
Yeah.
00:08:15.028 --> 00:08:28.911
And something happens when a person honors the magnificence in other people, especially if they understand that, I think, automatically when we, when we, when we honor the magnificence in other people, automatically it unleashes our ability to do so in ourselves.
00:08:28.911 --> 00:08:30.940
Now it goes both ways.
00:08:30.940 --> 00:08:40.568
If I honor the magnificence in myself, which some days it's harder than others, but if I intentionally work to do that, what happens to the outside world too?
00:08:40.568 --> 00:08:43.945
I'm automatically honoring the magnificence in other people too.
00:08:43.945 --> 00:08:49.811
Because I don't and I don't think people should see us as all these distinct people kind of doing our own thing.
00:08:49.811 --> 00:08:52.625
And I got to get mine, you got to get yours For me.
00:08:52.706 --> 00:09:07.451
When I do that process, my vision expands, because now I find that every time I see that in other people and something changes for them that's positive, it's somehow affects me in a very positive fashion.
00:09:07.451 --> 00:09:19.471
So I just can't help but try and see how can I get more and more good, not only into my space but into the space of everybody around me, and that's that begins to start to make you think in terms of all these different things.
00:09:19.471 --> 00:09:21.626
And so trust is the key word for me there.
00:09:22.008 --> 00:09:22.951
So trust is the key word for me there.
00:09:22.951 --> 00:09:43.924
Yeah, there's so much to unpack from what you just said, brian, because trust, being this foundational element of being able to, you know, from a foundation of giving and receiving, the receiving part of vision blew my mind when you said that, because in my mind and rock stars as you're listening to this, like the reason that's so powerful is, I think, so often we limit what we can receive.
00:09:43.924 --> 00:09:52.491
I remember setting goals, brian, for years, where I just you know someone years ago told me if I put a goal and stick it on a mirror, it's like 80, 90% likely I'm going to hit it.
00:09:52.491 --> 00:09:53.215
It was.
00:09:53.215 --> 00:09:56.981
I don't even remember the statistic, or even if it was a statistic, but it landed like truth.
00:09:56.981 --> 00:10:22.815
So I've been doing that since I was like in my mid twenties and I look back at the papers I've had and those early goals were so, like you know, if I just I remember, if I could just get a hundred patients in my clinic a week and make a hundred thousand dollars, life will be great and there's something beautiful about not wanting more, in the sense that, like you know, I'm, you know I'm happy with what I've got, kind of thing, but that's not what we're talking about here.
00:10:24.879 --> 00:10:28.092
What I've got kind of thing, but that's not what we're talking about here being willing to trust God or the universe, depending on how people look at that.
00:10:28.092 --> 00:10:43.803
But for us, god, like being able to trust God and knowing that he wants to receive, wants us to receive, so much abundance means that when we go out as you know, children of the creator and create our own future, I don't think he wants us to think myopically.
00:10:43.803 --> 00:10:44.807
I think to your point.
00:10:44.807 --> 00:10:53.166
He wants us to think big so that he can bless us big and, if our heart is in the right place, so that we can bless others big, which will in turn bless us.
00:10:53.166 --> 00:10:57.563
So when you were talking, that was the cycle that I was experiencing around all this.
00:10:57.563 --> 00:11:01.921
My favorite book of all time is the Speed of Trust by Stephen Cuffee.
00:11:01.921 --> 00:11:04.927
That's not my favorite book of all time, it's my favorite business book of all time.
00:11:04.966 --> 00:11:06.188
Excuse me, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:11:06.229 --> 00:11:19.907
Like business, book-wise, nothing to me, I think everything feeds off that word trust, the way that you describe it in terms of like trusting from a place, of how it shapes the way we experience the world and how we see things.
00:11:19.907 --> 00:11:28.072
And, yeah, like I don't know, how did you come up, like, how did you get to that point, though I love that, but how did you see that that way?
00:11:28.852 --> 00:11:38.495
It's a journey right Like I've seen, as things come into all of our lexicons, and sometimes I hear people say what is a lexicon?
00:11:38.860 --> 00:11:41.789
And I was about to ask you what a lexicon was, I was like I don't know what that is.
00:11:45.779 --> 00:11:47.527
Yeah, so we live in a world right now where people understand AI to a degree.
00:11:47.527 --> 00:11:50.196
Plug in all the data that you have into AI and AI spits out certain outputs.
00:11:50.196 --> 00:11:53.610
I think that there's an SI, a spiritual intelligence.
00:11:53.610 --> 00:11:55.826
So AI would be artificial intelligence.
00:11:55.826 --> 00:12:09.841
I think there's an SI, a spiritual intelligence, and when we plug in certain things into us whether it's reading the speed of trust or listening to a podcast from Willpower or or talking to a friend what we get is we get all these inputs that go into our lexicon.
00:12:09.841 --> 00:12:17.014
Like if I learn Spanish, if I learn German, if I learn how to play the piano, I listen to a song that I really like from Wonderwall or something like you know.
00:12:17.154 --> 00:12:19.081
I'm always singing Wonderwall or whatever it is.
00:12:19.081 --> 00:12:29.631
These things affect us in a way where now, when we speak, it comes into this input and then there's a spiritual intelligence that allows us to speak about our own experience.
00:12:29.631 --> 00:12:33.836
So for me I would say it's just the lexicon of all life's experience.
00:12:33.836 --> 00:12:43.423
Now, to get more specific so that it's not so esoteric Great, I read a book called the Power of Intention from Wayne Dyer.
00:12:43.423 --> 00:12:59.168
I've read the Speed of Trust and I understand the dividends and the taxes that you have regarding relationships and for me, I guess, reading also foundational books that a lot of people would consider to be like the best books, whether it's scriptures or things of that nature.
00:12:59.470 --> 00:12:59.630
Yeah.
00:13:00.340 --> 00:13:08.070
Fundamentally, I believe that the very greatest leaders that I've ever learned from believe in this concept of ask and receive.
00:13:08.070 --> 00:13:12.443
Now, traditionally I would have thought of ask and receive as just sort of like this gift.
00:13:12.443 --> 00:13:13.870
But what if they're commands?
00:13:13.870 --> 00:13:24.106
What if they're commands from a creator who wants for us to be beautiful, who wants for us to have unlimited abundance, who wants for us to be expansive, who wants for us to be creative creative to receive?
00:13:24.106 --> 00:13:27.034
And what if he wants all these beautiful things for us?
00:13:27.034 --> 00:13:30.908
Because I know for me and my children, I want to see that for them as well.
00:13:31.650 --> 00:13:34.640
And if he does, trust has a little bit different meaning for me.
00:13:34.640 --> 00:13:47.225
If I really believe that identity, you see, if I have a different identity of what my creator wants for me, like he wants me to suffer through and get through this life so that by the time I'm done I proved that I could suffer well.
00:13:47.225 --> 00:13:48.751
Well, guess what?
00:13:48.751 --> 00:13:58.282
If I'm trusting that, it has a completely different way of looking at life than if I trust that he wants for me beautiful, creative, expansive, receptive things.
00:13:58.282 --> 00:14:02.211
I think, at the core, identity matters.
00:14:02.211 --> 00:14:07.325
Now, your identity as a child of your creator is a huge piece of that.
00:14:07.325 --> 00:14:10.024
The absence of that does change what you're trusting.
00:14:10.024 --> 00:14:14.879
But secondly, the identity of your creator matters.
00:14:14.879 --> 00:14:16.855
How do you identify that when?
00:14:16.875 --> 00:14:17.957
did it come from.
00:14:18.158 --> 00:14:18.519
Yeah.
00:14:18.580 --> 00:14:24.115
Yeah, if you have a different identity, trust might mean something different for you.
00:14:24.115 --> 00:14:33.173
So for me, I'm trusting that if I get to $100,000 and I get to 100 patient visits per week, I'm trusting that.
00:14:33.173 --> 00:14:34.517
That's a piece of the journey.
00:14:34.517 --> 00:14:38.590
It's not the end, if I can keep going here for a minute.
00:14:38.590 --> 00:14:49.600
So I went to ink grow co back gosh, I don't know how many years ago five, ten years ago, whatever it was in new orleans and when- I got there world conference right remember the grow.
00:14:49.721 --> 00:14:50.650
It was a growth conference.
00:14:50.650 --> 00:14:52.014
It was ink inc.
00:14:52.173 --> 00:15:04.529
Like the magazine yeah uh-huh, yep, the magazine ink yep, and um was there and I happened to get off break and I called one of my buddies here from my hometown and he was like where are you at?
00:15:04.529 --> 00:15:08.214
And I'm like, well, I'm in New Orleans at this conference and he just stops and he goes.
00:15:08.214 --> 00:15:11.962
Dude, when is enough enough?
00:15:11.962 --> 00:15:17.312
And it wasn't said to inspire, it was said to, it was critical.
00:15:17.312 --> 00:15:28.659
It was kind of put me in my place, you know, and I was like, well, I don't know, my creator doesn't stop, so I don't think I will Wow and that.
00:15:28.860 --> 00:15:44.591
So it's identity matters, right, if I believe that I am first of all a child of the creator and this doesn't even have to be a religious conversation at all no, creation is agnostic, it's spiritual man.
00:15:44.591 --> 00:15:52.035
Call it the universe, call it God, but I'm calling it creator because I was not created from absence, I was created.
00:15:52.035 --> 00:15:57.879
Everyone can agree to that concept that I am a piece of my creator period.
00:15:57.879 --> 00:16:01.101
Now you got to decide what the identity of your creator is.
00:16:01.101 --> 00:16:15.179
You got to decide what your identity is I prefer, and I actually found a lot of magic and power from thinking my creator is my father, right, and there's more to it than that Doesn't need to get into that here, but like it's an expansive concept.
00:16:15.179 --> 00:16:25.614
That identity helps me because if I'm a seed of that, if I had that, if I have some of that DNA in me spiritually, then it starts to unleash what I'm thinking of.
00:16:25.653 --> 00:16:37.023
Now, going to a pragmatic example, how do you get out of your head in order to understand identity If all I ever see is the mess ups that I do and I'm not really a leader?
00:16:37.023 --> 00:16:38.936
I don't even know how I got into this position.
00:16:38.936 --> 00:16:40.966
I feel like I've been faking it this whole way.
00:16:40.966 --> 00:16:42.432
When are people going to figure me out?
00:16:42.432 --> 00:16:45.359
When's the house of cards going to fall?
00:16:45.359 --> 00:16:46.662
And people are going to figure out that?
00:16:46.710 --> 00:16:54.332
I'm not really a good leader, you know, there's really a very scientific approach to the fact that we have two thinking minds.
00:16:54.332 --> 00:17:08.276
We have the basis of the thinking mind, called the spontaneous thinker, and then we have the deliberate thinker, and that composes our consciousness spontaneous and deliberate.
00:17:08.276 --> 00:17:13.194
And then there's the magic mind, which is the unconscious, and we all have it.
00:17:13.194 --> 00:17:15.996
It's not just in some of us, it's in every single person.
00:17:15.996 --> 00:17:23.363
So I get to control whether or not I have the spontaneous thinker take over or the deliberate thinker.
00:17:23.363 --> 00:17:27.740
The deliberate thinker has a lot to do with shaping what it is that I want.
00:17:27.740 --> 00:17:32.321
The spontaneous thinker has a lot to do with saying hey, yo, you're in the wrong place.
00:17:32.321 --> 00:17:34.096
You really don't belong there.
00:17:34.096 --> 00:17:36.538
If you just stop here, you'll be good.
00:17:40.529 --> 00:17:44.444
So that's more than reactive, is what you're saying, cause I was thinking, as you were talking, about reaction versus proactive, but it sounds like that's a little bit different.
00:17:44.444 --> 00:17:49.630
I've heard in other terms like the critical parent versus the nurturing parents, and those types of things.
00:17:49.630 --> 00:18:02.080
None of that is hitting exactly what you're saying, but it feels to me like you're saying that, um, that first thinker, that was the name of that person the deliberate thing or the spontaneous spontaneous thinker is reactionary and judgmental and critical.
00:18:02.080 --> 00:18:02.590
Is that right?
00:18:02.991 --> 00:18:04.917
Only I think that's a very good application.
00:18:04.917 --> 00:18:06.875
I've never thought of it like that, but yeah, I think it makes sense.
00:18:07.699 --> 00:18:11.755
Okay, so that's what I heard from that, so you can control whether or not you're that person or the deliberate thinker.
00:18:12.737 --> 00:18:19.615
Yeah, I mean, I'm the CEO of my life enterprises, right, you're the CEO of your life enterprises and the conscious mind is that CEO.
00:18:19.615 --> 00:18:37.561
And so you have the opportunity to say is this thought that's coming in, kind of like this rogue employee coming into my life saying, hey, just so you know, I want to talk, smack the water cooler about your life and you're going to fire that person, or are you going to let them keep on talking smack the water, water cooler, because you're not sure who to replace them with?
00:18:37.561 --> 00:18:42.862
Well, the deliberate thinker gets to come in and say you know what I want for my life?
00:18:42.862 --> 00:18:44.076
I'm going to be values driven.
00:18:44.076 --> 00:18:51.979
You see, oftentimes the spontaneous thinker is reactionary because it's time driven, it's time pressure fires boom, boom, boom.
00:18:51.979 --> 00:18:55.711
But the deliberate thinker is compass driven, it's driven by values.
00:18:55.711 --> 00:18:56.132
It's compass driven.
00:18:56.132 --> 00:18:56.712
It's driven by values.
00:18:56.712 --> 00:18:57.575
It's compass driven.
00:18:57.575 --> 00:19:13.854
It's like if you don't know what your values are or maybe you do but you haven't written them out and if you don't know what it is that you're trying or that you want for your life, not even trying what you want for your life, and if you feel like it shouldn't want too much, it's going to be hard to be more and more expansive.
00:19:13.854 --> 00:19:27.862
You're going to limit yourself to that identity and you're going to limit yourself to whatever it is that you're seeing in the outside space, instead of flipping the script, creating it on the inside space and then watching it unfold in the outside space.
00:19:28.891 --> 00:19:34.240
This is why I say psychology is 80% of success and the mechanics are 20%.
00:19:34.240 --> 00:19:36.692
A human body is a great metaphor.
00:19:36.692 --> 00:19:47.441
The human body has the head up in the sky, it's got the heart in the center, it's got the hands that reach out to others and it's got the feet square on the ground, doing work, moving right.
00:19:47.441 --> 00:19:51.740
It's a beautiful metaphor for how we move in life.
00:19:51.740 --> 00:19:54.913
I can't just have my head in the cloud, because that's daydreaming.
00:19:54.913 --> 00:19:55.596
Where's my feet?
00:19:55.596 --> 00:19:56.497
My feet are on the ground.
00:19:56.497 --> 00:19:58.840
It's a drudgery if I don't have my head somewhere in the clouds.
00:19:59.221 --> 00:20:00.544
Execution and vision, yeah.
00:20:06.529 --> 00:20:17.786
I mean, we are beautiful metaphors for how a business, or even if you're not a business or you're just a leader, and I wouldn't even say just you're a part of a- leadership team and you become part of a leadership team that gets to reach out to other people, and their hearts as well, through their hands.
00:20:18.931 --> 00:20:26.176
I think it's just a powerful way to consider that we are made for more than sometimes we allow ourselves to identify with.
00:20:26.176 --> 00:20:41.019
So if you have embarrassment, shame or guilt that makes you feel like you're not worthy of something that you want, that right, there is probably the first place to start to resolve, and you can resolve it in a number of ways.
00:20:41.019 --> 00:20:47.519
But you don't have to live with an identity that says I'm not worth that or I don't deserve that or I don't want to be greedy.
00:20:47.519 --> 00:20:49.702
Right, there's shame around it.
00:20:50.029 --> 00:20:51.758
Sometimes shame doesn't look like I don't deserve it.
00:20:51.758 --> 00:20:54.092
Sometimes it looks like, well, I don't want to be greedy, I like that.
00:20:54.092 --> 00:21:02.050
You said that Again.
00:21:02.050 --> 00:21:03.214
That was more me, like early stage mirror goal setting.
00:21:03.214 --> 00:21:05.664
It was kind of like listen, it's selfish and wrong for me to want more and that's not what you're saying.
00:21:05.664 --> 00:21:08.375
You're saying that actually aligns more with our capabilities of what we were built for.
00:21:09.076 --> 00:21:12.692
Yeah, I mean, I think about my children, If they're like dad.
00:21:12.692 --> 00:21:25.259
Would you be upset if I was prolifically successful and I did good for people and I was able to make tons and tons of money and with that money I had margins and time, energy and money for my life and I gave that to so many people, Would you be mad at me?
00:21:25.259 --> 00:21:27.513
I'd be like, yes, I'm terribly mad.
00:21:28.035 --> 00:21:29.538
How dare you how?
00:21:29.678 --> 00:21:30.661
dare you want more?
00:21:30.661 --> 00:21:31.982
Why don't you stay where you're at?
00:21:31.982 --> 00:21:38.834
And, of course, with my identity, my father, I can't imagine.
00:21:38.834 --> 00:21:43.394
I can't imagine the creator who created me to be beautiful, expansive, unlimited abundance, you know, create, you know all those things.
00:21:43.394 --> 00:21:45.580
Goal of love, would want that.
00:21:45.580 --> 00:21:51.403
And, by the way, the more I gain and receive, the more I give.
00:21:51.403 --> 00:21:56.261
A person receiving doesn't identify what they do with it.
00:21:56.261 --> 00:21:58.063
A person can receive and choose to do whatever they want with it.
00:21:58.063 --> 00:21:59.932
A person can receive and choose to do whatever they want with it.
00:21:59.932 --> 00:22:08.323
They can choose to turn it to light, they can choose to have it be a lack of light, but either way, whatever we do with what we receive is what we magnify.
00:22:08.323 --> 00:22:17.220
So if I'm going to receive more and I have an intention to do good for the world, I have this really strong belief that I'm going to keep on receiving as a result of that intention.
00:22:17.220 --> 00:22:19.463
I don't have this really strong belief that I'm going to keep on receiving as a result of that intention.
00:22:19.483 --> 00:22:19.944
That's just where I sit.
00:22:19.944 --> 00:22:47.997
Yeah, it's interesting, I think, because the mindset piece of this is fascinating as I'm listening to you talk, because I believe that a lot of us, you know, have just the examples of abundance in negativity people who are getting greedy, you know, you think of, you know, when we think of big business, for example, companies that are making lots of money, there's kind of an inherent label of like they're dark, they're selfish, they're evil, and there are true examples of those individuals who do you know the the.
00:22:47.997 --> 00:22:58.007
The story that's gone on forever of people who come from nothing, become successful, who ended up becoming a little bit fallen, is like almost a cliche to some degree.
00:22:58.007 --> 00:23:14.500
But in real terms, I will tell you and I'm sure you'll agree with this, but the people who have meant the most to me and these are people who I actually know, the most successful people that I in person know, typically love the most, serve the most, give the most, are the least selfish.
00:23:14.500 --> 00:23:22.237
So I do think that there's like illustrations in media and in life of people who have a lot and don't use it for good.
00:23:22.237 --> 00:23:31.596
But for most people, especially if they've had to come from nothing or little and they've had to build that from scratch, so to bootstrap their businesses or whatever they're going to do.
00:23:31.596 --> 00:23:52.823
In my experience, those are some of the most amazing human beings that I want to be like and it's like, and they embody all the things that you're talking about a big belief that they matter no more than anyone else, but that they matter and that they're unique in the same breath and that what makes them so effective in life is how they can help and serve others.
00:23:53.329 --> 00:23:56.496
So, as you're talking about this thought of abundance, I think it's.
00:23:56.496 --> 00:24:01.003
I just wanted to mention that for my rock stars because, as they're listening to this, that was what I had to get over.
00:24:01.003 --> 00:24:04.157
If I was in that place of where I was ever going to want more.
00:24:04.157 --> 00:24:08.055
I had to get over the fact that wanting more was was right, not wrong.
00:24:08.055 --> 00:24:09.719
It wasn't even neutral.
00:24:09.719 --> 00:24:13.875
It was the right thing to do and that was what created a greater vision.
00:24:13.875 --> 00:24:18.023
Then my, my capability started shifting because I listen.
00:24:18.023 --> 00:24:24.557
I don't think there's anyone listening to this show who's dreaming and not being boots on the ground Like their feet are moving.
00:24:24.557 --> 00:24:30.680
If they're listening to a podcast, because they're, they're doing extra steps to try to make an effort to improve their life.
00:24:30.721 --> 00:24:33.338
So if anyone on this, show is listening, who needs to hear a message?
00:24:33.338 --> 00:24:36.753
It's highly probable, if not guaranteed, it's the.
00:24:36.753 --> 00:24:43.313
It's the person who's working really hard and wondering why they're stuck, and I think that's why it's so great that you shared what you did.
00:24:43.313 --> 00:24:45.116
How did you, how did your mind?
00:24:45.116 --> 00:24:47.971
What was it in your world that shifted your mindset, brian?
00:24:47.971 --> 00:24:51.800
Like what was it for you that shifted things and cause?
00:24:51.800 --> 00:24:56.636
I'm doing the intro, as you know, at the end of this, this meeting, I'm going to talk about all your companies and all that you're doing.
00:24:56.636 --> 00:24:58.640
So the social proof will be there.
00:24:58.640 --> 00:25:00.462
But what was it that shifted?
00:25:00.462 --> 00:25:01.931
Was it a person?
00:25:01.931 --> 00:25:02.913
Was it an experience?
00:25:02.913 --> 00:25:05.842
Where was the beginning of this journey of Brian?
00:25:06.130 --> 00:25:06.711
The beginning.
00:25:06.711 --> 00:25:23.114
Well, I want to make a comment about abundance just briefly here, because it's on my mind, and that is that scarcity versus abundance is something that I had to grapple with and wrestle with, being raised in a very competitive environment and hearing a lot of phrases.
00:25:23.114 --> 00:25:26.762
Growing up, I grew up in I don't know, I would call it abject poverty.
00:25:26.762 --> 00:25:29.094
It wasn't like the end of the world, it wasn't third world country.
00:25:29.094 --> 00:25:33.740
But you know one pair of jeans to my name and you know I didn't even have a bedroom to myself.
00:25:33.740 --> 00:25:36.862
We had to staple blankets to the ceiling to get bedrooms in the basement.
00:25:36.862 --> 00:26:02.977
You know I was happy, but I had a lot of things that fed my mind growing up that that fortune in life, whether great relationships or, you know, really healthy body or wealth in the terms of financial wealth, that those things were a function of, almost like the cosmic roulette table you know, is is it going to drop in your favor?
00:26:02.977 --> 00:26:08.577
You know, gosh, one day maybe we could win the lottery and buy that and we can't afford it.
00:26:08.577 --> 00:26:15.619
But and that was really like 20 years of my life and, um, I didn't enjoy that space very much.
00:26:15.619 --> 00:26:23.617
And then I went out of my household and again, this wasn't all just my, my, my family, my family taught me a lot of really good things, but was a lot of that going on.
00:26:24.960 --> 00:26:42.972
And as soon as I moved out of that space and uh went, went and learned from people outside of that space, uh, I served a two-year mission and there were a few people who were prolifically generous, they were abundant, they were energetic, and they would say like, yeah, I mean just you can choose whatever you want for your life.
00:26:42.972 --> 00:26:46.375
And I I was like, choose whatever I want, like you mean I can choose my fate.
00:26:46.375 --> 00:26:48.432
Well, you do choose your fate, not you.
00:26:48.432 --> 00:26:50.856
Can you do you choose it whether you go one way or another?
00:26:51.851 --> 00:26:57.282
I was watching that and I watched the people that, because I got to see a lot of people in a mission place.
00:26:57.282 --> 00:26:58.971
So you go, you go and meet a lot of people.
00:26:58.971 --> 00:27:06.016
And I started watching not only the missionaries that I was paired with, but also the people that I would go to their houses and I would hear the different stories.
00:27:06.016 --> 00:27:10.500
And there was these patterns that would start falling from that space, the golden thread.
00:27:10.500 --> 00:27:20.747
And that golden thread was the people who really were generous and giving and abundant, and I'm not saying the people who didn't have financial welfare weren't as well.
00:27:27.730 --> 00:27:29.435
But there was this general sense of what they, what they could do, a mindset shift.
00:27:29.435 --> 00:27:32.366
There was a mind you could see, there was a pattern of a mindset that you were observing between the two, in scarcity or in abundance.
00:27:32.386 --> 00:27:36.486
And what I started to see was that those that had abundance mindset, that was like there's so much and more for everybody.
00:27:36.486 --> 00:27:38.751
The more that I share, the more that I get.
00:27:38.751 --> 00:27:40.194
The more that I get, the more that I share.
00:27:40.194 --> 00:27:44.962
And these other people were there's only so much, I can only afford so much, and there's only so much.
00:27:44.962 --> 00:27:45.884
That's going to happen for me.
00:27:45.884 --> 00:27:46.711
This is just how it is.
00:27:46.711 --> 00:27:47.414
This is my luck.
00:27:47.414 --> 00:27:48.759
There was two different languages.
00:27:49.644 --> 00:27:54.987
Then I started to notice scarcity mindset in a certain group and abundance mindset, and there was rarely in between.
00:27:54.987 --> 00:27:56.612
Some people tried to dabble in both.
00:27:56.612 --> 00:28:08.057
Usually there's a separation and I said I want to be abundant, I want to feel like like, if I give somebody a huge piece of the pie that I have, they're just going to take that and they're going to make another pie with me.
00:28:08.057 --> 00:28:10.497
You know, and that's how I wanted to start to view things.
00:28:10.497 --> 00:28:15.541
Then, when I got, you know, it's just life keeps compounding that and it keeps proving that over and over again.
00:28:15.541 --> 00:28:21.337
So if I moved to a scarcity space after, I decided I was going to be a creator of habit instead of a creature of habit.
00:28:21.337 --> 00:28:22.239
You see that.
00:28:22.239 --> 00:28:23.039
Did you see the difference?
00:28:23.039 --> 00:28:23.480
Yeah?
00:28:23.500 --> 00:28:23.740
totally.
00:28:23.901 --> 00:28:31.980
A creature of habit is somebody who's acted upon a creator of habit as somebody who's deciding what the deliberate mind to create with that mindset.
00:28:31.980 --> 00:28:35.414
Then I started to say, okay, when is it that I fell into being a creature of habit?
00:28:35.414 --> 00:28:39.491
It wasn't like I changed altogether, but I was like, oh, I see the possibility.
00:28:39.491 --> 00:28:41.273
Start to be a creator of habit.
00:28:41.273 --> 00:28:43.217
Whoa, look at the stuff that's happening.
00:28:43.217 --> 00:28:45.920
Start to fall into creature of habit.
00:28:45.920 --> 00:28:54.287
My emotions drive my decisions, my urgency, my clock, and I watched what happened to my life and I started to say I want to be over here more.
00:28:54.888 --> 00:29:17.592
I want to be in this space where I'm a creator of habit, where I don't see people as persecutors and just coming down on me, but rather as challengersers and I don't see a person needing to save me or rescue me as a hero, but rather what I want is somebody who can mentor me, like that, that helps me walk through that, like yoda now yoda didn't say of luke skywalker, right, yeah, yoda guided him so.
00:29:17.592 --> 00:29:19.836
So I wanted to be a sort of in this triangle.
00:29:19.836 --> 00:29:28.154
I wanted to see people as mentors, me as a creator of habit and persecutor, as a challenger, and sort of shift that mindset.
00:29:28.154 --> 00:29:36.310
Then you start to just experiment upon that life and you see, well, shoot, when I went this way, it didn't help and my emotion certainly didn't help guide me.
00:29:36.310 --> 00:29:40.923
Why don't I guide my emotions to how I'm going to intentionally think about things?
00:29:40.923 --> 00:29:46.040
When I say a word, yesterday was tax day, I don't mean to date this, but hey, yesterday was tax day.
00:29:47.450 --> 00:29:49.557
And traditionally tax day has got this negative connotation.
00:29:49.557 --> 00:29:51.576
What if I change the meaning of tax day?
00:29:51.576 --> 00:29:56.739
Every time I pay my taxes, not only do I do a civic duty, I don't care what the government does with it, that's not up to me.
00:29:56.739 --> 00:30:01.673
I pay my civic duty, and every time I do that, I get prolifically more wealth.
00:30:01.673 --> 00:30:03.454
What if I do that?
00:30:03.454 --> 00:30:03.875
Guess what?
00:30:03.875 --> 00:30:06.817
When April 15th comes around, I get a positive emotion.
00:30:06.998 --> 00:30:12.602
It's a celebration of what you accomplished there you go so yeah, so there's ways to look at that.
00:30:12.602 --> 00:30:19.027
So, anyway, that's how it started and that's how it continues to start, because every day is a new journey for that, for me.
00:30:21.509 --> 00:30:26.682
Yeah, it's cool because you had it modeled and then you started trial and erroring it yourself and as you started to get more abundance, it became easier and easier for you.
00:30:26.769 --> 00:30:27.873
Well said.
00:30:28.032 --> 00:30:31.259
You know it's interesting because the the analogy.
00:30:31.259 --> 00:30:34.114
There's two things I want to mention on on what you just said there.
00:30:34.114 --> 00:30:47.299
The first is that the the analogy that I've heard that I really liked that describes that is that if we're in a room and we we have $2, that's all our money and someone comes and takes a dollar, it's devastating.
00:30:47.299 --> 00:30:54.955
But if in that room there's millions of dollars and someone takes a dollar, it means nothing, and I don't mean that financially only.
00:30:54.955 --> 00:31:07.519
There's like an emotional equivalent of that when we're feeling accepted and loved and we have this spiritual abundance that when challenges come, it gives us that point of reference to where it is easier to shape that mindset.
00:31:07.519 --> 00:31:15.933
And and I remember so, at the conference we were both at recently, when I was speaking, the thing that I said that I got the most responses on it was shocking, brian.
00:31:15.933 --> 00:31:20.111
I said from stage, I said it just, it was a side comment, it was a throwaway comment.
00:31:20.111 --> 00:31:24.340
I was talking about investments and failure and I just said, well, yeah, but you can always make more money.
00:31:24.340 --> 00:31:28.298
And I kept going you can always make as much money as you want, or something like that.
00:31:28.298 --> 00:31:31.298
I had people coming up to me challenging it.
00:31:31.298 --> 00:31:35.833
I had other people come up to me inspired by it, like it was such a.
00:31:35.833 --> 00:31:43.025
For you it probably wasn't even something you noticed, but in that room of people it created this response because it spoke.
00:31:43.025 --> 00:31:44.609
It spoke into people's mindset.
00:31:44.609 --> 00:31:53.419
For some it opened up possibility, for others it challenged them in a way that was invalidating, and and it was so this abundant mindset really, really does shift things.
00:31:53.961 --> 00:31:59.118
And then there was this Ted talk that talks about like you're talking about the meaning of tax day.
00:31:59.118 --> 00:32:02.993
There was a Ted talk I will have to find and stick in the notes of this episode.
00:32:02.993 --> 00:32:19.791
It was so powerful because it was a talking about stress and they did a study and they looked at people who live high, stressful lives, people who are intentionally creating lots, or maybe they were just in a place where they were receiving lots of stress because they had lots of personal things going on.
00:32:19.791 --> 00:32:26.383
And then they studied their health and there was a percentage of the group that had strokes and heart attacks and died young and all the things.
00:32:26.383 --> 00:32:43.761
And then there was this other group that had the best health and they were their diets and all these things were being monitored to be somewhat similar and they they were able to test it down to one thing it was what stress meant to them, like the meaning they assign.
00:32:43.821 --> 00:32:47.329
Stress is what determined their physiological response.
00:32:47.329 --> 00:33:09.824
So, like if someone was, like, well, this stress is an indicator that I'm doing some good, and I'm telling myself I'm just excited about this, it's hard because it's going to be worth it and I'm going to help people, those people physiologically literally created a different physical health versus people who are like, well, this is stressful, this is negative.
00:33:09.824 --> 00:33:10.989
I don't like this heart attack stroke.
00:33:10.989 --> 00:33:14.643
Like truly amazing that these things that we're talking about now.
00:33:14.643 --> 00:33:26.681
They might come across as a theory, but there is actual physiological proof now and the world is getting more concrete with this as we start to test these concepts much less in our own world, as we test things on our own.
00:33:27.321 --> 00:33:35.363
Yeah, wow, thank you for sharing that, because I am a big believer that words don't describe things, they create things.
00:33:35.683 --> 00:33:38.880
Wow, I think that words are powerful and meanings to them.
00:33:41.032 --> 00:33:51.726
So, in my mindset and in the way I see things now, if I want to create something in the physical, then there's some things that I can change.
00:33:52.029 --> 00:33:58.714
Number one if I have a negative emotion about something, again, can I see that negative emotion as a messenger or a signal?
00:33:58.714 --> 00:34:13.626
Um, can I see the physical representation of what I'm looking at, whether it's dollars in the bank or weight on the scale or you know, whatever it is that I see as my physical environment and I see that as a representation of what's going on on the inside.
00:34:13.626 --> 00:34:26.322
Um, and that's been a helpful thing for me to, to look at the physical representation my my five senses, you know smell, sight, taste, sound and see that as a reflection to me of something on the inside.
00:34:26.322 --> 00:34:33.175
That's helpful, not that the reality that I see out there is not real to me, but that I can use it as a resource.
00:34:33.175 --> 00:34:44.536
So, when you say the word stress, if stress is to a person negative and that's the emotion you feel with it, there's a third part to this called the story, so there's representation in the physical there's the signal, which is the emotion you feel with it.
00:34:44.556 --> 00:34:45.597
There's a third part to this called the story.
00:34:45.597 --> 00:34:51.552
So there's there's representation in the physical, there's there's the uh signal, which is the emotion, and then there's the story, or the meaning.
00:34:51.552 --> 00:35:03.735
So if stress equals our hard life, or stress equals it just isn't going my way, then guess what the emotion will follow and the physical representation will follow.
00:35:03.735 --> 00:35:05.918
And if I change that meaning?
00:35:05.918 --> 00:35:14.056
If stress equals, um, like, I'm a physical therapist too, right, yeah, so when I stress the body, I get stronger.
00:35:14.056 --> 00:35:20.034
If stress equals strength intentional, yes, strength, or, and you can, you can provide whatever meaning you want.
00:35:20.034 --> 00:35:22.159
You are the creator of habit, right?
00:35:22.159 --> 00:35:28.572
So if stress equals, oh, this is a messenger telling me that I'm putting too much work in the physical and not enough work in the non-physical.
00:35:28.572 --> 00:35:30.556
And think about that.
00:35:31.420 --> 00:35:41.253
Stress and overwhelm often shows up as a result of people putting a lot of work into the physical and not enough work in the non-physical, which would be that you know, like, how do I view things?
00:35:41.253 --> 00:35:44.260
What story am I telling myself?
00:35:44.260 --> 00:35:46.103
What state?
00:35:46.103 --> 00:35:48.333
Or you know, what state do I want to have?
00:35:48.333 --> 00:35:58.181
Like, those are all non-physical things that you can work on to change the entire cascade of the rest of it, you know, and so yeah, so, um, what does stress mean to you?
00:35:58.181 --> 00:36:02.400
And and if I get a negative emotion from that, I can actually change that.
00:36:02.400 --> 00:36:11.422
That's why I say psychology is 80% of the success and 20% of it mechanics, and again it could be 70, 30, doesn't matter.
00:36:13.233 --> 00:36:15.737
It's just yeah, just don't lose that.
00:36:15.737 --> 00:36:19.773
I think that there's been some references to this and I'm going to go ahead and quote them.
00:36:19.773 --> 00:36:25.054
Anywhere from 10 to 20 million bits per second of processing power in our unconscious mind.
00:36:25.054 --> 00:36:25.998
Now how you you measure that?
00:36:25.998 --> 00:36:30.016
There's a lot of different ways they measure that, but 10 to 20 million bits per second.
00:36:30.016 --> 00:36:39.706
Now, if you can compare that to what the conscious mind can process the ceo, the thinker that's about 126 bits per second by some estimation.
00:36:39.706 --> 00:36:43.786
Some people say 50 bits per second, but just from a ratio perspective, let's say it's 12, 50 bits per second, but just from a ratio perspective.
00:36:43.786 --> 00:36:48.300
Let's say it's 12 million bits per second for the unconscious and 126 bits per second for the conscious.
00:36:48.300 --> 00:36:53.039
You're around a one to 100,000 ratio In my mind.
00:36:53.059 --> 00:37:00.661
The way I view that is I'm the CEO and I have a hundred thousand workers that are going to bat for me every day, 365, 24, seven.
00:37:00.661 --> 00:37:04.239
They don't sleep and they don't ever take PTO.
00:37:04.239 --> 00:37:10.858
That's the case and I have a program running to those employees that stress equals, upset equals.
00:37:10.858 --> 00:37:11.780
My life is hard.
00:37:11.780 --> 00:37:17.103
Those workers are going to work non-stop on that and not all of them will.
00:37:17.103 --> 00:37:27.264
Some of them are like well, you have another program that says you want to be happy, but they're not duking it out in your company and you can't figure out why your stat line isn't going very well from a just from a metaphorical standpoint.
00:37:27.304 --> 00:37:29.733
But how's your life looking in the outside?
00:37:29.733 --> 00:37:33.632
Because I would tell you, you change the meaning of things that make you feel negative.
00:37:33.632 --> 00:37:34.653
You change the meaning of it.
00:37:34.653 --> 00:37:36.338
You change your life truly.
00:37:36.338 --> 00:37:39.672
Change the meaning, change the story that you tell yourself.
00:37:39.672 --> 00:37:45.021
Well, you know, I just have an underactive thyroid, and this isn't mocking anybody who has thyroid issues.
00:37:45.021 --> 00:37:47.905
I have this underactive thyroid so I can't lose weight.
00:37:47.905 --> 00:37:50.954
Well, what if you change your story to?
00:37:50.954 --> 00:37:59.891
Well, okay, people who have passed away and I'm not again, this is I'm, I want to be sensitive to it, but people who have passed away have very underactive thyroids.
00:37:59.891 --> 00:38:02.155
They don't work at all and they still lose weight.
00:38:02.715 --> 00:38:08.144
And you know, indicating that like you're trying to show an example of how like the truth around these things.
00:38:12.590 --> 00:38:15.684
Yeah, like if you have a story that says my underactive thyroids are overactive or whatever is what's causing this issue with my weight.
00:38:15.684 --> 00:38:19.579
Well, guess what your emotion's going to follow and your physical representation is going to follow if you do that in your business.
00:38:19.579 --> 00:38:27.846
Well, you know, it just took me six years to get to this point, and so it's going to take me another six years to get to the point.
00:38:27.846 --> 00:38:28.528
That's double if I ever get there.
00:38:28.528 --> 00:38:28.869
Or you know what?
00:38:28.869 --> 00:38:30.614
I had this much hell to pay to get here.
00:38:30.614 --> 00:38:33.161
I don't want to double that the next place I go.
00:38:33.161 --> 00:38:38.621
Well, your meaning is going to guide that entire gestalt, right?
00:38:38.809 --> 00:38:40.251
Yeah, man, that's so powerful.
00:38:40.271 --> 00:39:02.465
It reminded me when you were talking about I used to take my oldest two sons to karate years ago and this guy was like truly great, it wasn't just a foo fooey karate, like this guy competed and he used to teach these life lessons and we were talking about self defense and he's like you know guys, when, when you're trying, when someone's attacking you and you're trying to dominate that physical conflict, he goes.
00:39:02.487 --> 00:39:04.809
You want to grab the head and manipulate it, cause, and then he goes.
00:39:04.809 --> 00:39:08.155
Where the head goes, the body follows and he goes.
00:39:08.155 --> 00:39:10.858
That's true in every aspect of life.
00:39:10.858 --> 00:39:14.472
And then he kept going and I remember that stuck with me and it's kind of had some meaning for me.
00:39:14.472 --> 00:39:45.141
But when you said that whole idea about how our subconscious just rules supreme and how that really dictates the creation of our environment intentionally or unintentionally, depending on how we choose to see it that where the head goes, the body follows, in this case, where the head goes, the team follows, the company follows, the family follows Like it's such a beautiful thing to think about, just being aware of it like, because knowledge is power in that sense, you know, and I think what you've done today is really help expand our knowledge and perspective of these things.
00:39:45.161 --> 00:40:15.891
Because one of the last things I'll say is, for me it's heartbreaking when I have a son and I have four boys who says something derogatory about themselves, Like I'm a loser, I'm stupid, little things, and I try to pull them aside and grab them and say you are not stupid, you are special, but you have to say that you, that language isn't like just worthless words we're throwing out there, we're programming this celestial brain of ours, you know computer that can help dictate our future.
00:40:15.891 --> 00:40:18.601
So yeah, brian, what are your?
00:40:18.601 --> 00:40:19.925
What would you say would be your?
00:40:19.925 --> 00:40:24.014
Your, your closing thoughts on this topic as we wrap up.
00:40:24.916 --> 00:40:26.378
Thank you for having me here.
00:40:26.378 --> 00:40:29.724
First of all, I think that a few things.
00:40:29.724 --> 00:40:37.311
Let's get practical with all this Never, ever, ever complain, never, ever, ever complain.
00:40:37.311 --> 00:40:41.836
Because complaining we use this concept of words create.
00:40:41.836 --> 00:40:50.284
They don't describe Complaining, whether it's about yourself or other people or other things, it's creating in real time what it is that you don't like.
00:40:50.284 --> 00:40:57.550
So, if you're complaining about something, you're using words to create what it is that you don't like, because words create, they don't describe.
00:40:57.730 --> 00:41:09.402
The second is gratitude, and these are just, it's like well, yeah, okay, of course, but when I'm in a state of wanting, it really is, in some ways, the antithesis of a state of having.
00:41:09.402 --> 00:41:15.498
So the state of having is a state of gratitude for me and for many others.
00:41:15.498 --> 00:41:22.838
Right, when I'm thankful what it is I have, I expand that state, and what we focus on expands period.
00:41:22.838 --> 00:41:25.364
If you don't believe me, go watch star Wars.
00:41:25.364 --> 00:41:27.376
Qui-gon Jinn was having a word with young Anakin.
00:41:27.376 --> 00:41:31.355
He says always remember, but we focus on determines our reality.
00:41:31.355 --> 00:41:37.056
Right, and it's true because it's it's true right now.
00:41:37.056 --> 00:41:44.282
If any of this resonates with listeners, let those things that empower you expand inside of you, right?
00:41:44.282 --> 00:41:46.672
So, gratitude and complain, do not complain.
00:41:46.672 --> 00:41:49.721
And fulfill that void with gratitude instead.
00:41:49.721 --> 00:41:55.077
Now, I don't mean be thankful in a weird kind of a like I'm thankful that I get to pay taxes.
00:41:55.077 --> 00:42:06.376
Unless you can say I'm grateful I get to pay taxes because it means I'm fulfilling a civic duty, it means I had the means earning in the first place and it means more is coming, then that's a great way to apply gratitude.
00:42:06.376 --> 00:42:12.896
And I would say, if your focus determines your reality, fire the bad workers.
00:42:12.896 --> 00:42:21.605
Fire those, those employees that I'm talking about from the unconscious mind, that are that our spontaneous thinker allows in.
00:42:22.286 --> 00:42:23.994
By the way, your spontaneous thinker isn't you.
00:42:23.994 --> 00:42:28.380
So you've heard, you've heard it said like you are not your thoughts, yeah, okay, what does that mean?
00:42:28.380 --> 00:42:35.753
Well, some thoughts come in and they're spontaneous, and so if you think I just can't do this today, that's not you.
00:42:35.753 --> 00:42:37.257
You're not.
00:42:37.257 --> 00:42:43.275
You thought fire that worker and then, and then instead of them, hire workers that are doing good.
00:42:43.356 --> 00:42:56.860
So you know what are magic things that you can say to yourself that will start the process of moving you towards your thinking mind, your deliberate thinker, instead of your spontaneous thinker, and that's how you can put your focus in areas that you want to expand.
00:42:56.860 --> 00:43:08.815
If a person really gets that then when they go to work in the mechanical space like the mechanical space, like I'm going to do my marketing, I'm going to do my finances, I'm going to do my work, I'm going to it becomes.
00:43:08.815 --> 00:43:12.498
You know, going to bed at 11 isn't exhausting.
00:43:12.498 --> 00:43:18.338
It just changes the way that you feel, it changes the energy in your body and it changes the experience that people around you have.
00:43:18.338 --> 00:43:20.034
So that's what I would say.
00:43:20.815 --> 00:43:21.639
Brian, thank you.
00:43:21.639 --> 00:43:25.494
It has been such a great episode.
00:43:25.494 --> 00:43:30.456
I can't thank you enough for your leadership, the example that you set in our industry and in leadership across the board.
00:43:30.456 --> 00:43:31.559
So, brian, thank you again.
00:43:31.559 --> 00:43:32.914
I sure appreciate you.
00:43:32.914 --> 00:43:36.856
Guys, thank you for taking time to listen to today's episode.
00:43:36.856 --> 00:43:40.675
If you found today's information to be useful, could you take a minute and help me?
00:43:40.675 --> 00:43:46.885
I would love it if you could leave a podcast review in your app so that other people who are looking for this information can find it.
00:43:46.885 --> 00:43:55.476
Plus, my dream is to have the largest network of medical entrepreneurs and leaders in the world so that together, we can change healthcare to make it better for all.
00:43:55.476 --> 00:44:04.204
So, in addition, if you can think of anyone that you could send this to, not only would that mean a lot to me personally, but it would build this network so that we can make healthcare the way that we want it.
