00:00:06.480 --> 00:00:09.359
Welcome everybody to the Directed IRA podcast.
00:00:09.439 --> 00:00:10.400
My name is Mark Koller.
00:00:10.480 --> 00:00:17.359
I'm here with the CEO and author of the book, the self-directed IRA handbook, second edition, the one and only Mr.
00:00:17.440 --> 00:00:18.800
Matt Sorensen.
00:00:19.039 --> 00:00:20.079
Welcome, everyone.
00:00:20.480 --> 00:00:21.120
Yeah, welcome.
00:00:21.359 --> 00:00:22.000
Thanks for being here.
00:00:22.079 --> 00:00:24.399
We're going to be talking about something you need to be thinking about.
00:00:25.199 --> 00:00:26.399
I worked on that intro for you.
00:00:26.480 --> 00:00:29.839
And yeah, you don't get like I don't even get a you know, thank you for that intro, Mark.
00:00:29.920 --> 00:00:30.320
Nothing like that.
00:00:30.559 --> 00:00:31.280
We have Mark here.
00:00:31.359 --> 00:00:32.640
He's my co-host.
00:00:32.880 --> 00:00:34.000
He's, you know.
00:00:36.240 --> 00:00:39.520
I was trying to, you know, you could say, thank you, Mark.
00:00:39.600 --> 00:00:40.640
That was a great introduction.
00:00:40.719 --> 00:00:41.600
We're so excited to be.
00:00:41.679 --> 00:00:42.000
But nothing.
00:00:42.079 --> 00:00:42.479
That's okay.
00:00:42.560 --> 00:00:42.960
That's all right.
00:00:43.039 --> 00:00:45.679
I was just trying to give you a little early Christmas love, but okay.
00:00:45.920 --> 00:00:46.479
Yeah, yeah.
00:00:46.560 --> 00:00:48.640
You know, we got we got uh Mark J.
00:00:48.799 --> 00:00:49.200
Kohler.
00:00:49.520 --> 00:00:50.560
I mean, you know who he is.
00:00:50.719 --> 00:00:52.560
He's a man that needs no introduction.
00:00:53.039 --> 00:00:55.920
You know, um, he's you know, good looking.
00:00:56.719 --> 00:00:57.840
You don't have to return the favor.
00:01:00.560 --> 00:01:04.640
You know, his favorite vegetables are baby carrots.
00:01:04.799 --> 00:01:05.280
All right.
00:01:05.519 --> 00:01:06.640
So many things out more.
00:01:07.040 --> 00:01:07.599
Oh my gosh.
00:01:07.680 --> 00:01:08.159
Oh my gosh.
00:01:08.319 --> 00:01:08.640
All right.
00:01:08.719 --> 00:01:12.560
Well, everybody, thanks for letting us banter a little bit and have some fun with you.
00:01:12.799 --> 00:01:15.840
We are excited to talk about year-end Roth strategies.
00:01:15.920 --> 00:01:18.159
And there's three, and we're gonna go hard and fast.
00:01:18.319 --> 00:01:21.280
We know how valuable your time is this time of year.
00:01:21.519 --> 00:01:29.760
So we want to get into it, save you money, make you money, help you self-direct your retirement into what you know is best.
00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:31.760
Like what is your favorite investment?
00:01:31.920 --> 00:01:35.120
We want to unlock that for you with three killer Roth strategies.
00:01:35.280 --> 00:01:36.480
Matt, what's number one?
00:01:36.799 --> 00:01:38.799
All right, can I say the all three of them?
00:01:38.879 --> 00:01:41.680
Because I want to give you a roadmap of where we're going so you're not surprised.
00:01:42.000 --> 00:01:48.480
Okay, we're gonna hit the Roth conversion, we're gonna hit the kids Roth IRA, and we're gonna hit the mega backdoor Roth.
00:01:48.640 --> 00:01:51.519
Okay, he's all got some year-end considerations you need to be thinking about.
00:01:51.599 --> 00:01:54.000
So let's hit number one, Roth conversion.
00:01:54.159 --> 00:01:54.319
Okay.
00:01:54.480 --> 00:02:02.959
Roth conversion is a year-end consideration in strategy because when you convert, in what tax year depends on when you're gonna pay the tax.
00:02:03.599 --> 00:02:12.719
So, for example, if you're sitting there thinking, I've got 50 grand in a traditional IRA, I want to convert to Roth, you might want to say, maybe I'll just wait until January 1st, 2026.
00:02:12.960 --> 00:02:15.599
And I'll just convert the whole 50K and I'll push that into 2026.
00:02:15.680 --> 00:02:17.199
That could be one way of thinking about it.
00:02:17.599 --> 00:02:23.280
Or you might be, hey Matt, I've got 600 grand in traditional IRA or traditional 401k funds.
00:02:23.439 --> 00:02:24.800
I really want the whole thing to be Roth.
00:02:25.360 --> 00:02:26.000
What should I be doing?
00:02:26.879 --> 00:02:29.759
Well, maybe you should be doing something we call Roth chunking.
00:02:30.080 --> 00:02:31.599
And right now is a perfect time of year.
00:02:31.680 --> 00:02:34.080
You got 600K, you've got a few options.
00:02:34.240 --> 00:02:43.439
You might want to say, I'll convert 300,000 in 2025 and 300,000 in 2026, and I'll break it up over two tax years.
00:02:43.840 --> 00:02:52.319
Or you might say, I'll take 200,000 in 2025, 200 in 2026, and 200k in 2027, and break it up over three years.
00:02:52.960 --> 00:02:53.520
I love it.
00:02:53.599 --> 00:02:58.319
And the driving factor, everybody, two words tax bracket.
00:02:58.719 --> 00:03:09.599
Because you want to find that sweet spot of where you're not jumping into a higher bracket, chunking too much, and you want to take advantage of a lower bracket up to a certain dollar amount.
00:03:09.840 --> 00:03:20.000
Plus, you've got to take into account, ooh, I've got some real estate write-offs over here, I've got some flow-through losses here and some capital losses, but I've got extra gains here.
00:03:20.080 --> 00:03:25.199
So you want to kind of distill down to what you think your taxable adjusted gross income is going to be.
00:03:25.360 --> 00:03:26.479
Sorry, those are two different things.
00:03:26.639 --> 00:03:32.800
Adjustable gross income, then you're going to back into your taxable income and go, okay, what bracket am I in?
00:03:33.039 --> 00:03:40.879
Because there's a big jump from the 12% to the 22%, and then from the 24% to the 32%.
00:03:41.199 --> 00:03:46.000
Those are the biggest jumps in the bracket world.
00:03:46.240 --> 00:03:53.680
And we want to make sure that we're finding that amount to chunk and spreading it out.
00:03:53.840 --> 00:03:55.599
So there's a lot to consider there.
00:03:55.759 --> 00:03:59.039
It's particular to every person, but that's the strategy.
00:03:59.120 --> 00:04:02.319
And you have until December 31st to pull the trigger.
00:04:02.560 --> 00:04:11.599
Now keep in mind, this is just about what amount do I want to convert to get on my 2025 return, or what do I want to push and wait into 2026 or chunk over time.
00:04:11.680 --> 00:04:16.639
So just an opportunity to be a little more strategic about it, minimize the tax burden on the Roth conversion.
00:04:16.720 --> 00:04:26.959
The upside of the Roth conversion is that money is now going to grow and come out entirely tax-free rather than those traditional dollars you you have right now or may have that are going to get taxed on the way out.
00:04:27.120 --> 00:04:31.600
So remember, we're going to have a lot of, we like to say, long-term gain on this.
00:04:31.680 --> 00:04:33.360
The short-term pain is this tax.
00:04:33.439 --> 00:04:41.519
We're going to try and minimize that by chunking it over time and being strategic, looking at our tax brackets, how much tax am I going to be paying on this conversion?
00:04:41.680 --> 00:04:48.079
Um, but just keep in mind the whole purpose of this is to get that tax-free bucket growing and coming out tax-free later.
00:04:48.160 --> 00:04:49.040
So that's the end goal.
00:04:49.279 --> 00:04:49.600
I love it.
00:04:49.759 --> 00:05:11.759
Now, before I share tip number two, I just want to add if your accountant has said you make too much money to do a Roth or talks this down or doesn't even bring it up, you have a terrible, may I repeat, terrible advisor because you can contribute to a Roth at any age, at any income level, through what's called the backdoor Roth method.
00:05:11.920 --> 00:05:14.079
We've got other podcasts and articles on this.
00:05:14.160 --> 00:05:16.079
It's a chapter in Matt's freaking book.
00:05:16.240 --> 00:05:21.279
Just do not listen to anybody that says you make too much money to use the Roth strategy.
00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:22.399
Topic for another day.
00:05:22.560 --> 00:05:22.879
Okay.
00:05:23.920 --> 00:05:25.519
Tip number two, Kid Roth.
00:05:25.759 --> 00:05:26.800
And I love Kid Roth.
00:05:26.879 --> 00:05:30.319
Oh my gosh, some of his songs, some of the best songs, especially summertime songs.
00:05:30.399 --> 00:05:31.600
I love his songs in the summer.
00:05:31.759 --> 00:05:34.000
But anyway, we also have what's called the Kid Roth.
00:05:34.319 --> 00:05:53.120
And that concept is if you've been supporting any family members, kids in particular, in this example, under age 18, over age 18, and they can play a role in your business that's legitimate, typically on a board of advisors, board of directors at the very least, let's not just pay taxes and give them money.
00:05:53.279 --> 00:06:02.720
Let's convert it to a payment to those kids through a methodology of a 1099 if they're over age 18, or an outside labored line if they're under age 18.
00:06:02.879 --> 00:06:04.000
Topic for another day.
00:06:04.160 --> 00:06:08.319
I've got chapters of that in my book, the Tax and Legal Playbook, and podcasts.
00:06:08.480 --> 00:06:16.079
But the point is, once you've paid the kids, which you need to do before December 31st with the proper method, and you've already helped them throughout the year.
00:06:16.240 --> 00:06:17.680
This is just a paper transaction.
00:06:17.839 --> 00:06:19.120
We got to document it.
00:06:19.360 --> 00:06:28.639
It unlocks the ability to open a Roth IRA for them and contribute through a gift or some of the income you've already given them.
00:06:28.879 --> 00:06:30.079
Lots of options.
00:06:30.319 --> 00:06:34.720
Matt, where do we go from the paying the kids to getting it in a Roth?
00:06:34.879 --> 00:06:36.639
Because that's the kind of that next hurdle.
00:06:36.879 --> 00:06:43.920
Yeah, and this is the thing people think, well, I just do a 529 for my kids or a covered out because there's no earned income requirement for the kid.
00:06:44.000 --> 00:06:50.000
But when you want to do a Roth IRA that's in your kid's name, this they have to have earned income.
00:06:50.160 --> 00:06:52.160
Because we want you to do your Roth IRA first.
00:06:52.240 --> 00:06:52.399
Okay.
00:06:52.560 --> 00:06:54.720
And you got a spouse, they're doing their Roth IRA.
00:06:54.800 --> 00:06:56.959
Your high income, you're doing the backdoor Roth IRA.
00:06:57.120 --> 00:06:58.959
Next, we're like, you got kids?
00:06:59.040 --> 00:07:00.160
Let's get them working in your business.
00:07:00.240 --> 00:07:02.720
Maybe you got a rental property, they're working on the rental property.
00:07:02.800 --> 00:07:03.040
Okay.
00:07:03.199 --> 00:07:08.240
And so we want to justify legitimate income that you can pay them so they have earned income.
00:07:08.480 --> 00:07:15.040
So now we have something called a kids Roth IRA, a directed IRA, which they could do a crypto kids Roth IRA, invest in crypto.
00:07:15.120 --> 00:07:21.120
They could use a regular kids Roth IRA and invest in other, they could buy stocks, they could invest in real estate, put them in on deals with you.
00:07:21.279 --> 00:07:25.439
A lot of options there on once that money is invested and in the account.
00:07:26.000 --> 00:07:28.720
But the mechanics is it is a kid Roth IRA.
00:07:28.800 --> 00:07:33.680
We have a special account app for this where you, as the parent or guardian, are responsible for the account.
00:07:33.759 --> 00:07:39.120
If your kids, you know, 15 years old, right, you're going to be doing the things for them and making the decisions.
00:07:39.279 --> 00:07:44.240
Once they're 18 or the age of majority, and depending on the state, they will have authority on the account, though.
00:07:44.480 --> 00:07:50.000
But we love the kids Roth IRA because one, it's a way to teach your kids about investing.
00:07:50.160 --> 00:07:54.319
We're not even in the great tax and investing strategies here, just like teaching your kids.
00:07:54.720 --> 00:08:05.360
Two, if you paid them out of your business, by the way, you got a tax deduction, reduced your taxable income, and then it went to your kids that are probably under the standard deduction, under 14 grand or whatever the standard deduction is.
00:08:05.519 --> 00:08:08.399
And so they don't even have to file a tax term or claim this as income.
00:08:08.560 --> 00:08:10.240
Three, we get the money in a Roth IRA.
00:08:10.399 --> 00:08:12.079
Now it's growing and coming out tax-free.
00:08:12.240 --> 00:08:21.680
How many of us have seen the chart where it's like, well, if you just started a Roth IRA 40 years ago, this is the numbers if you put it, if you started Roth IRA 50 years ago, okay.
00:08:21.920 --> 00:08:22.399
Oh great.
00:08:22.560 --> 00:08:22.959
Oh my god.
00:08:23.040 --> 00:08:24.879
I'm I'm I'm 40 years, I'm 45.
00:08:24.959 --> 00:08:26.879
I started it, you know, negative five.
00:08:27.040 --> 00:08:27.360
Okay.
00:08:27.920 --> 00:08:30.399
Think about this for your kid that's 15.
00:08:30.959 --> 00:08:38.639
If they just made annual contributions, getting a 9% return, you can get that as the S P 500 or if you're doing other great stuff, but just hang with me at least there.
00:08:38.799 --> 00:08:43.279
That account will be$6 million by the time they hit 65 of retirement account age.
00:08:43.440 --> 00:08:46.720
And the the difference is the early start.
00:08:47.120 --> 00:08:52.960
And so and so this can be a reality for your kids if you help them with that early start.
00:08:53.120 --> 00:08:54.720
So we love this strategy.
00:08:54.879 --> 00:09:04.240
Um, and it's a great way to uh not only get great tax savings, teach kids about investing, but get them on a journey to um learning how to invest and build wealth.
00:09:04.720 --> 00:09:05.600
Love it, love it.
00:09:06.240 --> 00:09:09.360
High five um ditto, two thumbs up.
00:09:09.519 --> 00:09:20.480
And I will also say for you grandparents out there, there's an extra step involved utilizing your children, your adult parent, your adult children that are the parents of your grandchildren.
00:09:20.720 --> 00:09:25.279
If you can involve them in the planning process, this can still work for a grandchild.
00:09:25.440 --> 00:09:27.120
So what's the call to action here?
00:09:27.200 --> 00:09:29.279
I know it can be a little complicated.
00:09:29.519 --> 00:09:32.559
Please get a year-end consult with one of our tax lawyers.
00:09:32.720 --> 00:09:35.279
You can go to KKOS Lawyers, book a call with it.
00:09:35.360 --> 00:09:51.679
We're out about five days to maybe 10 at times, because this is our busiest time of the season, but you got plenty of time during the month of December to do the proper paperwork, to document the write-off, get the account open, get it funded, and put this gift of a Roth IRA in their Christmas stocking.
00:09:51.919 --> 00:09:52.879
Super powerful.
00:09:53.120 --> 00:09:53.360
Yeah.
00:09:53.600 --> 00:09:57.440
Now remember the contribution deadline isn't until April 15th.
00:09:57.600 --> 00:10:06.720
The reason we're bringing this up at year end is they have to have their earned income in 2025 if we want to do a 2025 contribution that doesn't have to go in until April 15th of 2026.
00:10:06.960 --> 00:10:22.720
Another thing to think about is those of you that don't are a small business, don't have a business to pay your kids from, but your kid has a job that they work in the summer or a part-time job, maybe they're in high school, they'd be paying five grand through the year that they've spent it all on, you know, kids, teenage stuff that they spend money on.
00:10:22.960 --> 00:10:27.360
You can still fund the five grand into their Roth IRA because they did have earned income.
00:10:27.519 --> 00:10:29.679
So it doesn't have to be that income that they made.
00:10:29.759 --> 00:10:34.639
You can still help them by funding that for the parent or the grandparent getting that into their Roth IRA.
00:10:34.960 --> 00:10:35.440
I love this.
00:10:35.519 --> 00:10:45.200
I literally remember where I was sitting when I had a phone call with a client that was like, Yeah, I wish I could do a Roth IRA for my daughter, but I he goes, you know, it's in February or March now.
00:10:45.440 --> 00:10:48.480
He goes, but I never put her on the books of the business and paid her last year.
00:10:48.559 --> 00:10:51.039
And I really wanted to fund her Roth for a few thousand.
00:10:51.120 --> 00:10:52.399
I go, well, how old is she?
00:10:52.559 --> 00:10:53.519
He goes, 16.
00:10:53.679 --> 00:10:55.600
I go, did she babysit at all last year?
00:10:55.759 --> 00:10:58.080
He's like, holy crap, she's babysitting every weekend.
00:10:58.159 --> 00:11:00.000
I go, how much she make on a normal weekend?
00:11:00.080 --> 00:11:05.759
He goes, she'll make 50 bucks, maybe 75, 100, do it a couple families or whatever.
00:11:05.919 --> 00:11:12.399
I'm like, dude, you times that by 50 weekends, hypothetically, at 100 bucks a weekend, we got her five grand right there.
00:11:12.559 --> 00:11:13.919
He goes, Well, she already spent it.
00:11:14.159 --> 00:11:14.799
Doesn't matter.
00:11:14.960 --> 00:11:16.320
She didn't file a tax return.
00:11:16.559 --> 00:11:17.200
Doesn't matter.
00:11:17.360 --> 00:11:22.159
All you have to do is be able to show she has earned income babysitting.
00:11:22.320 --> 00:11:26.320
And if the IRS really wants to go interview all your neighbors, knock yourself out.
00:11:26.639 --> 00:11:28.639
This is not a high-risk issue.
00:11:28.879 --> 00:11:32.960
Putting money away is what the government is trying to incentivize us to do.
00:11:33.200 --> 00:11:42.399
They are giving all these saver credits and 401k tax credits and all these things are trying to encourage Americans to start saving sooner.
00:11:42.559 --> 00:11:46.399
They're not crashing down on people for strategies like this.
00:11:46.559 --> 00:11:48.240
They're trying to encourage it.
00:11:48.399 --> 00:11:50.879
So do not think this is a high-risk issue.
00:11:51.039 --> 00:11:54.799
Get your kids involved, get the money there, and let's get this Roth area going.
00:11:55.039 --> 00:11:55.519
All right.
00:11:55.679 --> 00:11:57.120
Number three, Matt, roll it out.
00:11:57.360 --> 00:11:57.519
All right.
00:11:57.600 --> 00:12:02.159
Number three, we got to go fast and furious here, is the mega backdoor Roth.
00:12:02.320 --> 00:12:03.519
Now we're going to talk about this in two times.
00:12:03.679 --> 00:12:04.639
I just like the name of that.
00:12:04.799 --> 00:12:05.759
I just like the name of that.
00:12:06.080 --> 00:12:07.600
It just sounds cool, right?
00:12:07.919 --> 00:12:08.960
I love mega.
00:12:09.039 --> 00:12:10.080
I love backdoors.
00:12:10.399 --> 00:12:11.200
I love Roth.
00:12:11.440 --> 00:12:12.559
I mean, I'm all in.
00:12:14.080 --> 00:12:15.440
I know we used to name a band.
00:12:15.600 --> 00:12:17.200
That's just like a great band name.
00:12:17.440 --> 00:12:19.279
You know, they're opening up for KISS.
00:12:19.440 --> 00:12:21.039
We got mega backdoor Roth.
00:12:21.600 --> 00:12:22.720
Yeah, like Mega Death.
00:12:23.039 --> 00:12:23.679
Mega backdoor.
00:12:23.759 --> 00:12:24.240
Mega Roth.
00:12:24.559 --> 00:12:25.440
Um, so okay.
00:12:25.600 --> 00:12:26.080
So let's talk.
00:12:26.240 --> 00:12:28.000
We're gonna talk about this in two scenarios here.
00:12:28.159 --> 00:12:36.879
One is a job where you work what you have a or a spouse that has a 401k at work, and then two, any of you self-employed doing maybe the solo case strategy.
00:12:37.120 --> 00:12:37.279
Okay.
00:12:37.440 --> 00:12:40.159
You take the worker, I'll take the self-employed.
00:12:40.399 --> 00:12:40.799
Okay, all right.
00:12:40.960 --> 00:12:47.360
If you're the you're the person at a job that has a 401k, not your business, um, you can do the mega backdoor Roth.
00:12:47.679 --> 00:12:52.879
About 60% of 401k plans allow for something called the after-tax contribution.
00:12:53.120 --> 00:12:55.679
This is what you do to do this mega backdoor Roth.
00:12:55.840 --> 00:13:01.919
And what this is is, is it's a way you can put more money in your 401k up to 70 grand for 2025.
00:13:02.159 --> 00:13:04.480
Let's say you've put 10 grand in so far this year.
00:13:04.639 --> 00:13:06.399
You put in some money, you put in five grand.
00:13:06.639 --> 00:13:09.679
Let's say the company you work at did a match, they put in five grand.
00:13:09.919 --> 00:13:11.120
So you got 10 grand in.
00:13:11.279 --> 00:13:15.759
Well, you have up to you have 60,000 more dollars you can put in your 401k.
00:13:15.840 --> 00:13:19.840
Now, a lot of people are like, but Matt, I thought I could do up to 23,5 as an employee.
00:13:20.000 --> 00:13:25.039
Okay, we got 13.5 left as a regular employee contribution that you can do as Roth dollars.
00:13:25.679 --> 00:13:27.039
How do I get the rest?
00:13:27.360 --> 00:13:30.080
I still got 46,500 to go.
00:13:30.559 --> 00:13:34.799
Well, this is where we're gonna do, so that'd be minus the five that the company put in.
00:13:34.879 --> 00:13:36.960
So I got 41,500 left to go.
00:13:37.120 --> 00:13:47.279
This is where you do an after-tax employee contribution into the 401k that you can roll out to a Roth IRA, or you can convert in the plan to Roth 401k dollars.
00:13:47.360 --> 00:13:50.960
Generally, for day job 401k, you're gonna roll it out to a Roth IRA.
00:13:51.200 --> 00:13:54.720
After tax employee contributions do not get stuck in the plan.
00:13:54.799 --> 00:13:58.000
You don't have to hit retirement age, you don't have to quit the job to roll it out.
00:13:58.159 --> 00:14:04.000
After tax employee contributions can get rolled out over to a Roth IRA, but this is critical for year end.
00:14:04.159 --> 00:14:12.080
So you've got to make the contributions by year end with your employer 401k to be able to execute on this for 2025 contribution rule purposes.
00:14:12.240 --> 00:14:18.159
Now, we have other content on this articles, podcast episodes on the mega backdoor Roth.
00:14:18.480 --> 00:14:27.600
We want to highlight that strategy here because it is critical for year end, particularly for those that have a 401k at work where you need to get the mechanics done by December 31st.
00:14:27.919 --> 00:14:29.200
Perfect explanation.
00:14:29.360 --> 00:14:35.519
Now, for you small business owners that you're like, freaking hey, I wish someone was matching my 401k.
00:14:36.000 --> 00:14:38.159
I hear your pain, I feel it.
00:14:38.879 --> 00:14:41.360
I uh you understand.
00:14:41.600 --> 00:14:44.879
But you get the blessing of more flexibility.
00:14:45.120 --> 00:14:59.759
You have the opportunity to do what's called a solo 401k, which gives you a lot of options to dial up compensation, dial it down, find that sweet spot, throw your spouse on payroll for him or her, and bring them into play on this.
00:15:00.000 --> 00:15:07.360
So the concept is if you're a sole proprietor, small business owner, S Corp owner, but you don't have employees.
00:15:07.519 --> 00:15:10.720
And again, we have so much more content on the solo 401k.
00:15:10.960 --> 00:15:12.320
In fact, I'm gonna say this right now.
00:15:12.480 --> 00:15:17.440
People, while our speaking, please, it's already on our website at kkoslawyers.com.
00:15:17.519 --> 00:15:24.879
We have a webinar on the solo 401k year-in strategy where the government's giving you a tax credit to set up the solo 401k.
00:15:24.960 --> 00:15:27.679
You actually make money to set up the 401k.
00:15:27.759 --> 00:15:28.559
It's unbelievable.
00:15:28.639 --> 00:15:30.879
Like, this is not a deduction, it is a tax credit.
00:15:30.960 --> 00:15:33.519
The government's like, here's some money, go get this done.
00:15:33.759 --> 00:15:35.039
So it's it's amazing.
00:15:35.279 --> 00:15:47.039
So you have the flexibility to do this, you pull the trigger before year-end, you get your solo 401k set up, then you can dial it up, your payroll level to the perfect amount come January.
00:15:47.120 --> 00:15:48.320
You can back into it.
00:15:48.480 --> 00:15:56.720
This is where the consult would be very helpful with someone kind of really manufacturing this and and um figuring out the details that would apply to you.
00:15:56.879 --> 00:15:58.159
But it's not that difficult.
00:15:58.320 --> 00:16:03.039
You can dial up your salary and your contribution to hit the mega amount.
00:16:03.120 --> 00:16:04.960
And it can be that Roth amount.
00:16:05.039 --> 00:16:09.039
You may even say, we had such a kick ass year, I'm gonna do the same thing for my spouse.
00:16:09.200 --> 00:16:10.480
Now you double down.
00:16:10.639 --> 00:16:15.519
Holy crap, now you're talking about 150 grand plus in a Roth IRA.
00:16:15.679 --> 00:16:18.240
Talk about the momentum you can build with that sucker.
00:16:18.639 --> 00:16:20.960
So this is all at your fingertips.
00:16:21.120 --> 00:16:24.320
It takes a consultation that's it could be extremely affordable.
00:16:24.399 --> 00:16:29.759
We charge like a thousand bucks to set up a 401k, and you meet with a real tax lawyer on Zoom.
00:16:29.919 --> 00:16:35.039
It's built for you to get a tax credit, you get a deduction to do it, and a tax credit to do it.
00:16:35.120 --> 00:16:37.759
I'm freaking, you're making money, people, to do this.
00:16:37.919 --> 00:16:39.360
So take action on this.
00:16:39.440 --> 00:16:43.759
If you have the wherewithal, and I know it's tight out there for so many of you, I understand that.
00:16:43.840 --> 00:16:46.480
But there's other business owners that have the year of their life.
00:16:46.639 --> 00:16:49.519
Let's not just give that away to the IRS more tax dollars.
00:16:49.600 --> 00:16:50.799
This is a great strategy.
00:16:51.039 --> 00:16:51.600
Yeah, yeah.
00:16:51.679 --> 00:16:54.000
And we're of course putting this money in as Roth dollars.
00:16:54.080 --> 00:16:58.559
So we're not getting a tax deduction, but we're building a bucket of tax-free wealth that's gonna build.
00:16:58.639 --> 00:17:01.519
But there are the deduction you're gonna get for the cost of setting it up.
00:17:01.600 --> 00:17:03.919
There's a tax credit that the government's offering right now.
00:17:04.319 --> 00:17:06.799
That's hitting that the Ciculous Lawyers webinar that we've hit.
00:17:06.880 --> 00:17:08.720
So get over there for that as well.
00:17:09.039 --> 00:17:17.279
And then um the other thing I want to say on this is for you that are self-employed, you still got to be thinking about this at your end because where do these contributions go?
00:17:17.440 --> 00:17:22.000
Your employee contributions, whether this is the regular ones or the after-tax ones, on your W-2.
00:17:22.480 --> 00:17:29.440
If you're an S-corp owner, you gotta be thinking about that right now, because that W-2 is gonna be hitting you in January of 2026 and it's gonna be due.
00:17:29.599 --> 00:17:32.880
Now, there are some rules on you don't actually have to get the money in until later.
00:17:33.119 --> 00:17:40.240
So don't be careful if you start reading up on this, even some of our stuff where it's like, well, the contributions in solo casen's due until the tax return deadline.
00:17:40.400 --> 00:17:52.480
Yeah, but you need the plan set up for any of you that are new, and we need to make sure for US Corp owners, which is the most common business owner doing a solo K, that your W-2's dialed in because that's gonna be due right around the corner here in January.
00:17:52.720 --> 00:17:53.279
Yeah, yeah.
00:17:53.359 --> 00:17:56.880
Look, there's a few moving parts, but can have a big payoff.
00:17:57.119 --> 00:18:00.880
Well, everybody, Merry Christmas, and you're welcome.
00:18:01.119 --> 00:18:04.880
And uh thanks for being here.

00:18:12.799 --> 00:18:14.000
