I am so happy you are with me today. I apologize. First of all, for the late post of this episode, I have been feeling a bit under the weather this week. And I feel like it's still in my voice. So I do apologize for sounding congested and just with a cold. But I really wanted to do this episode before we get any further into November because it marks two years that I have been creating, hosting and producing this podcast just breathe parenting your LGBTQ teen. It has been just an incredible experience. So far, I have learned so much I have connected with so many beautiful people. And I have really grown both personally and professionally. Before I jump into today's quick episode, I want to remind all of you to make sure you are on my email list. I have some really exciting opportunities that I'm working on and that I will be announcing soon. And I will be letting you all know via email. So make sure you jump onto my website and sign up, I have actually put together a list of my absolute favorite resources that you will automatically receive when you sign up on my website, so make sure you take advantage of that. It's a win win for all of us. So with it being November and a celebration of two years of podcasting, it seems appropriate that this episode today is about gratitude. If you've been listening to me for a while, you know that I credit the practice of gratitude with helping me and my family through the most difficult days of our journey. I have a sign on my office door that I believe I've referred to in the past that says interrupt anxiety with gratitude. Which reminds me even on those days where I just don't have it and made to focus on my practice. Just to take a moment to stop, clear my mind and think of one thing that I'm grateful for. It is the tiniest mental shift, but it works. So I really want to challenge each of you. No matter if you are listening to this podcast in November or in April. To start a daily gratitude practice. It does not have to be formal, there is no such thing as perfect. Make it yours. If you'd like to journal do that. If you like the idea of interrupting your anxious thoughts with a moment of gratitude, do that there is no right or wrong, just do something. So I'm going to give you a few of mine that came to mind as I was preparing for today. I am grateful for Steve Connor, Isabel grace and Rohan. I am grateful for how each of them has grown and such lovely and authentic ways. I am grateful for their unconditional love and the sweet and funny ways they each express it. I am grateful for the closeness, the messiness and the real communication that we have now. And thinking about this really brings me to our journey as a whole that we of course are still on and have been on for almost five years. I am grateful Grateful for every step of this journey because it has brought us closer as a family and it has taught each of us so many invaluable lessons. Yes, there's been pain. And there have been challenges, but we have walked through each situation and come out better on the other side for having experienced them. I am grateful for each of our amazing friends and family members who have supported us who have shown up with non judgmental curiosity, and who have loved us flaws and all. I am grateful for each one of you, thank you for listening. It is my hope and my goal, to have you walk away from each episode with new information, maybe just a laugh, or that good feeling of knowing that you are not alone. I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many of you through the private Facebook group. And off the top of my head, I'm thinking shout outs to Melissa and Stephanie and Jennifer and Emily. And oh my goodness, so many of you that engage and share with such vulnerability and who support each other. I am so grateful for that. I'm grateful for those of you who have reached out to me via email and through other social media. And I'm grateful for this podcast. The other day, my business coach shared a quote by Joseph Campbell with me the sad. The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. And I was like, Oh my gosh, that is literally everything I've done. Starting this podcast was so scary for me. But oh my goodness, the past two years have been filled with such treasures. And I am so so truly grateful for that. I want you to know that I will only be posting one or two episodes between now and the end of the year. So I encourage you to take this time to listen to episodes you have not listened to yet that you have not heard to reach out to me with questions or thoughts on topics that you would like to hear more about.
