Dr. Tabatha: It's really important for women to understand that sometimes we’re just stuck in a world where sickness feels normal—and we don’t even know there’s another way to live. As an OB/GYN, I didn’t even know what wellness truly meant until I stepped away from conventional medicine. Today’s guest is someone I love dearly, and her story is going to speak directly to your heart.
(00:40)
Dr. Tabatha: Welcome, Amanda! I’m so excited to have you here today.
Amanda: Thank you so much for having me! I’m really looking forward to this—it’s such an important conversation.
(01:12)
Dr. Tabatha: You have such a common story among the women I treat. I see so many women in their 30s and 40s saying, "I think it’s my thyroid... maybe my adrenals... something’s wrong, but no one can tell me what." As a nurse, you came from that same world of conventional care—what led you to seek something different?
(01:48)
Amanda: I grew up surrounded by medicine—my parents were in the field, I worked in the ER for years. Stressful shifts, long hours—it became my life. But eventually, my body started breaking down: injuries, exhaustion, panic attacks. I kept pushing through until one day I just couldn’t anymore.
(02:55)
Amanda: I started having night sweats, fatigue, heart palpitations—symptoms no one ever connected to hormones. I didn’t even think about menopause—I was only 43! But when I found your content, something clicked. I reached out because I knew I needed help, and what I was doing wasn’t working.
(04:30)
Dr. Tabatha: I remember thinking, "She is way too young for menopause!" But your sex hormones were tanked. Most doctors wouldn’t have even tested them. I’m so glad you found me. Hormone balance, gut healing, diet changes—it all mattered.
(06:30)
Amanda: The lifestyle and gut piece were huge. At first I thought, “I can’t give up gluten or eggs!” But when I made those changes and saw how inflamed my gut was—it was life-changing. Healing the gut changed how I felt physically and mentally.
(09:15)
Amanda: The burnout wasn’t just physical. I grew up in chaos—divorce, instability. I went into survival mode as a kid, and I never left. I thought I had to take care of everything myself. That stress built up for decades until my body just said “no more.”
(17:38)
Dr. Tabatha: That’s why I always recommend the ACE test—Adverse Childhood Experiences. Your burnout, thyroid issues, gut problems, early menopause... they all trace back to those stress patterns. And healing doesn’t just happen in the body. It happens in the spirit too.
(21:03)
Amanda: I grew up in the church, but I never had a personal relationship with Jesus. I tried to fix everything myself for years. But when I finally surrendered, I found peace. He gave me new purpose, a new identity, and reminded me that I am enough in Him.
(27:41)
Amanda: Now I feel called to help other women. With my nursing background, what I’ve learned about functional medicine, and my faith, I want to walk with women through their own healing. I know now—this is what I was made to do.
(33:00)
Dr. Tabatha: I’m just so excited to watch you step into this next season. God is redeeming every piece of your story, and now you’re going to be the light for so many other women. You’re walking proof that burnout doesn’t have to be the end—it can be the beginning.
