WEBVTT
00:00:01.417 -->
00:00:09.337Well, hello my valued listeners, and welcome back to another episode of Living in Your Power.
00:00:09.557 -->
00:00:16.357I'm your host, Dr. Marlene Greenleaf, and I am truly grateful that you are here with me today.
00:00:16.837 -->
00:00:25.597As we continue our main theme, The Empowered Yes, Aligning with What You Are Called to Do.
00:00:26.797 -->
00:00:33.137Today, we are stepping into a truth that can feel both freeing and challenging.
00:00:33.697 -->
00:00:38.237And today's episode, the second in our main series, is titled,
00:00:38.817 -->
00:00:41.877When Yes Requires Letting Go.
00:00:43.417 -->
00:00:48.517But before we move into today's message, I want to take a moment to acknowledge
00:00:48.517 -->
00:00:51.937that yesterday was the Mother's Day weekend.
00:00:51.937 -->
00:00:59.137And for some, this was a time of celebration Celebration of love,
00:00:59.397 -->
00:01:03.357gratitude, and honoring the women who have nurtured,
00:01:03.837 -->
00:01:12.397guided, and supported us And for others, like myself, it may have been more
00:01:12.397 -->
00:01:15.697of a reflective time Holding memories,
00:01:16.257 -->
00:01:23.117processing loss, or navigating what this day means personally Now,
00:01:23.377 -->
00:01:25.777wherever you found yourself today,
00:01:26.377 -->
00:01:31.897I want you to know that you are seen, and you are held in grace,
00:01:32.277 -->
00:01:38.037and in many ways, today's message connects deeply to that spirit,
00:01:38.397 -->
00:01:45.737because love, growth, and even motherhood itself often require us to let go
00:01:45.737 -->
00:01:48.917in order to make space for what's next.
00:01:50.757 -->
00:01:52.177So let's dive in.
00:01:54.502 -->
00:02:03.362Now, we often focus on the yes, the opportunity, the calling, the next step.
00:02:03.762 -->
00:02:08.642But what we don't always talk about is the cost.
00:02:09.222 -->
00:02:14.742Because every true yes requires something to be released.
00:02:15.982 -->
00:02:24.722Time, energy, all habits, sometimes even relationships or expectations.
00:02:26.322 -->
00:02:32.422And that's where it becomes uncomfortable. Because letting go is not always
00:02:32.422 -->
00:02:35.382easy, even when it's necessary.
00:02:38.022 -->
00:02:48.082Isaiah 43, 18, 19 reminds us to Remember ye not the former things,
00:02:48.502 -->
00:02:51.522neither consider the things of old.
00:02:52.422 -->
00:02:57.902Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth.
00:02:58.602 -->
00:03:06.542Shall ye not know it? And I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers. in the desert.
00:03:09.342 -->
00:03:16.402Behold, I do a new thing. But notice the instruction that comes before the promise.
00:03:17.302 -->
00:03:21.462It says, remember ye not the former things.
00:03:21.722 -->
00:03:25.542So in other words, it's saying release what was.
00:03:26.022 -->
00:03:31.102Because holding on to what was can block what is being created.
00:03:31.762 -->
00:03:36.422I mean, God is always moving. And when we stay anchored in the path,
00:03:36.662 -->
00:03:40.522my dear listeners, we miss what is unfolding.
00:03:43.664 -->
00:03:49.124Now, letting go is not just a decision. It's an act of trust.
00:03:50.984 -->
00:03:57.344It's trusting that what you are releasing is not greater than what is being prepared.
00:03:59.244 -->
00:04:05.844It's trusting that the space you create will be filled with what aligns with your purpose.
00:04:05.844 -->
00:04:13.124And sometimes Letting go looks like Releasing outdated rules,
00:04:14.464 -->
00:04:20.964Releasing expectations that no longer fit And releasing the need to control
00:04:20.964 -->
00:04:29.084every outcome And sometimes Letting go looks like trusting God enough to move
00:04:29.084 -->
00:04:32.284forward Without carrying everything with you,
00:04:33.204 -->
00:04:35.984You don't have to take everything into your next season.
00:04:39.451 -->
00:04:45.231Now let's return to this, where it says, Behold, I will do a new thing.
00:04:47.051 -->
00:04:52.791I want you to use this as your empowerment prompt, but take a moment this week and reflect on these.
00:04:54.591 -->
00:04:58.591What am I holding on to that no longer aligns where I'm going?
00:05:00.471 -->
00:05:05.231What do I need to release in order to fully step into my yes?
00:05:06.571 -->
00:05:11.811And what would it look like to trust God with what I'm letting go of?
00:05:13.231 -->
00:05:15.231I'm going to repeat those for you.
00:05:17.431 -->
00:05:20.851Take a moment to speak and reflect on these.
00:05:21.611 -->
00:05:25.911What am I holding on to that no longer aligns with where I'm going?
00:05:27.631 -->
00:05:32.871What do I need to release in order to fully step into my yes?
00:05:34.011 -->
00:05:39.871And what would it look like to trust God with what I'm letting go of,
00:05:41.951 -->
00:05:48.471you cannot fully receive what's ahead if your hands are still full of what's behind.
00:05:52.063 -->
00:06:01.723So in closing, my friends, I want you to know that your yes is powerful, but it requires space.
00:06:02.763 -->
00:06:07.063And sometimes that space is created through release.
00:06:08.183 -->
00:06:16.163You're not losing anything that is meant for you. You are instead making room for what is.
00:06:18.743 -->
00:06:24.923So I want to thank you for joining me For episode 2 of our May series The Empowered
00:06:24.923 -->
00:06:28.003Yes Aligning with what you are called to do,
00:06:28.903 -->
00:06:36.463And continue to live boldly in your power today And if it gets tough Just breathe,
00:06:38.343 -->
00:06:51.443You still got the strength to rise So until next time dear listeners continue to live in your power.
