Six Table Stories

By James D. Fischer
Six Table Stories are completely mythical, and all involve the people in a completely mythical small community known as Six Table. All the stories were written by James D. Fischer. Some of the stories began as short plays, some have been wrestled into reading shape from short stories. A few have been published, in small anthologies. The players are a gracious volunteer outfit of local folk.

The Intersection of Faith, Art, Culture, and Technology

Along the Eastern Slopes

By Miles Jay Oliver / Anchor
Editor’s note: Several months ago, reporter Miles Jay Oliver pitched the idea of writing a serialized story set in Yakima. He wanted to create a fictional series that would draw readers in and span an extended period of time. The publication of serialized fiction in newspapers isn’t new, but it’s not common for the Yakima Herald-Republic. With the development of the new weekly Valley Verve section, we found the perfect place for the series. So sit back and relax for a bit as we invite you to ...

It begins with a queer and rich old woman found stabbed to death in her chair and not a clue to the murderer. Then so many clues turn up that even the story-book detective is bewildered.
