► Tell us about you and your podcast
Hi, I'm Caroline Hull, podcast strategist, coach, and founder of Wild Home Podcasting. I host Share, Strategize & Shine, a podcast for women coaches and consultants who want to grow their businesses through strategic, heart-centered podcasting.
My background spans nearly a decade of podcasting, marketing, and creative work, and I bring a unique blend of strategy and soulful connection to everything I do. My listeners are ambitious, thoughtful business owners who are ready to align their podcasts with their bigger mission—without burning out or getting lost in the noise.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I started my podcast because I believe podcasting is one of the most powerful ways to amplify your voice and your impact. I had been working behind the scenes helping others grow their podcasts, and I realized I had my own stories, strategies, and encouragement to share too.
Podcasting felt like a natural fit because I love deep conversations and creating cozy, meaningful content that feels more like a connection than a broadcast. I launched Share, Strategize & Shine in 2020. It took me about a month to plan and record my first episode — and even though I was nervous, hitting publish was one of the most empowering things I’ve ever done.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
When I first started, I was balancing homeschooling my three kids and running a business, so time was definitely precious! I found pockets of time early in the mornings and during quiet afternoons to plan, record, and edit.
I fund the podcast myself, covering hosting, editing software, and marketing costs. I keep my setup simple and strategic so I can stay consistent without overwhelm. I typically release a new episode weekly or biweekly depending on the season, and each episode takes about 3–5 hours from idea to publication.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
Podcasting has been life-changing for me. It’s not just about audience growth — it’s about building real relationships, finding my voice, and growing a community of like-hearted entrepreneurs.
I do work with sponsors occasionally, but most of my podcast monetization comes from listeners becoming clients, joining my membership, or purchasing my digital products. Podcasting has been an incredible business driver, but it’s also been a huge source of confidence, clarity, and creativity in my career.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
I keep my process simple and sustainable. I record using a microphone and edit using Descript, which makes editing fast and intuitive. I host my podcast on Captivate.
For solo episodes, I map out a detailed outline with key points so I can stay conversational but focused. For interviews, I research my guests beforehand and prepare a flexible guide of questions to keep the conversation natural and engaging. Most of my interviews happen via Zoom so I can connect with guests from all over.
► How do you market your show?
Most of my listeners find my show through Apple Podcasts, my email newsletter, and Instagram. I’ve found that warm, authentic marketing works best for my audience—things like behind-the-scenes shares, personal stories, and strategic snippets from episodes.
Instagram and email are my primary channels, and I focus on building genuine conversations around each episode rather than just promoting links. Word-of-mouth and guest collaborations have also been powerful for growth!
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Start simple and stay consistent. You don’t need a fancy studio or perfect equipment—you need a message, a plan, and the willingness to grow over time.
Podcasting is a long game, but it's incredibly rewarding. Focus on building real connections, not just chasing downloads. And remember: the best podcast content feels like a conversation, not a performance.
