The Randumbness Podcast is the demented brainchild of life long cousins who love to tell dumb stories and laugh at each other

With a background of being the funny ones in any given situation, we decided to share our dumbness with the world. Every week we tell funny stories pulled from our lives. We are unscripted and unrehearsed, as well as uneducated which appeals to our listener base of 18-40 year old males.
 

We said for years that we should be recording ourselves when hanging out with our other dumb friends. So we took the plunge and did it! We started the podcast as audio only in 2018 with zero goals other than to have fun. We release a new episode every Monday. I (Kevin) am a stay at home Dad, so I have a little more time than some people to produce the show. We record on Saturday night and I edit the video and upload to youtube on Sunday for release on Monday Morning. We spend very little on the episodes as we use mostly free software (Shotcut, Anchor, Audacity,Canva). We market the show on social media which is also free. The only expense has been for equipment and even then, we are pretty low budget.
 

We are currently looking for show sponsors since our sponsorship with Anchor has ended. Sponsors are hard to find for small podcasts with downloads thaqt aren't in the 1000's per episode. Aside from our own contributions, we mainly rely on merch sales and donations from friends and family ( and some fans) to make ends meet.
 

Our process is simple really since we do not script anything our discuss much in advance. The studio is ready to go at a moments notice and we sit down and talk for a few minutes, write a topics down on a white board, take a shot of Captain Morgan and hit record. To date, we have not had any guests but is something we look forward to in the future.
 

Our show can be found on basically any podcast app or platform with the majority coming from YouTube and Spotify. Each social media platform has its own benefits, working your advertising to fit the plaform is crutial.
 

Just Do It! Make a plan, Set a goal and Go For It! Do some research on the best equipment for what you will be doing, you don't have to break the bank to start a podcast. There are so many resources out there for aspiring podcasters, from YouTube to Facebook groups. Most of all, Have fun and don't get to caught up on the numbers and making money right out of the gate. (Side note: Family and Friends will be your worst supporters..haha)
