For many, Easter is nothing more than an excuse to snack on mini-eggs, take an extra day or two off work, and enjoy a well-earned opportunity to sleep in. But ignoring the real reason for the Easter celebration doesn’t change the truth. There is a God, He does love us, He did send Jesus to die in our place, Jesus did rise from the dead, and these facts can and should change our lives forever! We need to shake off the spiritual lethargy that is so common in the world around us and wake up – it’s Easter morning!
God’s Word is true – there is a Heaven and there is only one way to get there. Jesus told us that He is the only Way, the embodiment of transforming Truth, and the Source of eternal Life (John 14:1-6).
Our sin-nature makes us an easy target for submission to culture. We are called to be "in" the world (we shouldn't cluster in "holy huddles") but not "of" the world (we are subject to an authority and lifestyle beyond the scope of culture).
By New Testament standards, anger can be either good or bad, depending on motive and purpose. When angry, we must consider whether our anger is justified. The Bible gives us strong warnings against sinful anger; however, it does advocate feelings of righteous indignation towards injustice, immorality, and ungodliness. When such anger is unselfish and based on love for God and others, it not only is permissible but commanded. Jesus expressed this righteous anger in
