Everybody chases something. The heart chases what it believes will make it happy, bring it significance, and promise its satisfaction. Jesus said that worldly minded people will spend their lives anxiously chasing after their next meal or the newest fashion rather than their Heavenly Father, who knows what they need before they ask. Jesus said His followers should chase after God’s kingdom and God’s character first, trusting that He will add to their lives what they really need.
