Dr. Russell Hittinger, the Warren Chair of Catholic Studies at the University of Tulsa, recently spoke at the University of Dallas on the topic, “Three Necessary Societies: Nation, Family, Church.” Before his talk, he was interviewed by Dr. Christopher Wolfe, professor of politics at UD and president of the American Public Philosophy Institute, on the relationship between nation, family, church and the principle of subsidiarity.

Dr. Glenn Arbery, former professor at UD, provides insights on what woman essentially is by nature. He does this by examining the character of Eve and how she has been depicted in literature throughout the ages. Dr. Arbery will discuss contemporary secular views as well as the works of John Milton and C. S. Lewis building toward an image of what holy contemporary femininity can and does look like. The image he draws us toward is one of beauty, strength, intelligence and piety that leads one to thrive and contribute to the culture as trustees of humanity.

Our guest this week is Carlos Gutierrez, BS '83. Carlos will tell about his wide variety of experiences in the Physics industry, from working on the Hubble Space Telescope at Johns Hopkins, to being a professor at Texas State, and most recently being named a Fellow of the American Physics Society.
