THE TAKE 12 RECOVERY RADIO SHOW THE VICTORY REPORT #6 (Big Boys Do Cry, and It's Okay) Believing that what was most important in life was to work hard, be productive and never let them see you sweat, Adrian grew up believing “big boys don’t cry”. Doing what he could to prove himself and gain his father’s approval, Adrian stuffed his emotions. Once his emotions and frustrations of life began to work their way to the surface, Adrian had to medicate how he felt so as not to fall into the mode of allowing himself to feel. Enter alcohol and benzodiazepines. As Adrian fell deeper and deeper into addiction his life began to spin out of control and suicide became an option. But God had other plans for Adrian. Tune in to hear this powerful story and miracle of God’s redemptive power through a recovery process that took our guest first to Al-Anon, then to Alcoholics Anonymous and eventually to the ministry of Teen Challenge, where he now serves as the Curriculum Coordinator for this powerful ministry at the Christian Life Ranch, part of the Teen Challenge of Arizona network. www.tcaz.org Closing Song: Let Your Love Be a Light by Blake Bolerjack www.blakeandjenna.com

THE TAKE 12 RECOVERY RADIO SHOW Regrets of ACTION, INACTION & REACTION We see “regret” as a finish line, when in fact it’s meant to be a starting line. Regret is actually meant to be a helpful thing, a “functional” emotion. Regret moves us to reparative action. It gives us motivation to do things differently, to make things right. In that way, we can learn to love our regrets because they can launch us forward into a better future. When we learn to love our regrets, we can grow from them and discover that it’s never too late to start over. Closing Song: In My World by Conley White aka Just Ray
