By Larry Nelson - Instructional Technology

About this podcast   English

This four-day workshop focused on the online and off-line class activities within the textbook. Several first grade teachers throughout the District attended this four-day session. While the main focus was on techniques for integrating technology - EasyTech - into the curriculum, Web 2.0 applications (audio podcasting and Skype VOIP/Instant Messaging) were included to facilitate collaboration among teachers. During days 1 and 2, each group of teachers selected two areas of the EasyTech curriculum for the purpose of studying and investigating as to how these lessons provided technology integration. Day 3 was spent in modeling individual lessons in the 1st grade curriculum, plus preparation for the Easy Tech practicum on Day 4. The practicum occurred at Green Elementary and Kohlberg Elementary (El Paso ISD) and involved working with 1st grade summer school students in the computer lab and the classroom.
